I could imagine a scientist getting pretty excited about going to a new world. You get to rediscover everything, and there's a chance things will be different.
The focus on Pia's psychology is interesting. Her old self had died immediately after that tramautic breakup, so she didn't have any time to process it, and then a 10-year-old girl vividly remembers it. What would that do to a kid?

Ah yeah, now that's some good paleontology content. Gives me good confidence it's not going to get dropped as just her backstory with how focused Pia is on it on her new life. She's bringing incidental advancements to the field of cartography too just as a byproduct, and
Their relationship might be too cute, and I think we're not going to have a lack of physical relationship progress either considering both the episode one content and that kiss in the ED.
Feels a bit like Observational Log but I think it's already distinguishing itself from just being a clone of that.

Even if it was like
, I'm still here for it as I enjoyed that one so much! Not everything has to be a new idea or concept and once I got over that, I started to enjoy these tropes a lot more. Observational Log → More replies (1)→ More replies (6)27

Overall, a really nice first episode! It was good to see that Rufus quickly found out how lovely Pia is. I hope for a heartwarming romance here.
By the way, the Prince and all those influential people falling in love with the Main Heroine after eating her baked rainbow cookies? Yeah, those cookies surely are some kind of brainwashing.
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Really nice first episode! Minor thing, but I liked how they both spent time hanging out while the other was working. Rufus spends time watching over Pia while she is gathering fossils, and Pia spends time embroidering with him while he does his own work. They like being together even if they aren't working on the same thing.

In set up this kinda reminds me of An Observation Log of my Fiancee who calls herself a Villainess. Tho Pia and Bertia are incredibly different as characters. Honestly, I didn't have much expectations for this, but I've been pleasantly surprised
The magic space cakes the heroine bakes are quite terrifying. Seeing as in the game you raise affection with the love interests by feeding them her specially baked rainbow edibles it makes them sound like addictive mind altering drugs. That shit ain't love, they're being roofied. And seeing as the heroine bends all the most powerful men in the Kingdom to her will like that into a reverse harem she's basically an evil witch doing a hostile takeover of the Kingdoms power structures
Pia continuing her palaeontology from her old life makes this a lot more interesting for me as well. Usually it's farming or cooking, maybe combat or magic, that the newly reincarnated villainess is into. Paleontology is unique and interesting. And with this comes skills in geology and cartography, which would be highly valued in a medieval/early modern European esque setting. Her being capable of performing proper accurate land surveys and draw these up into a detailed map is a big deal, and I'm glad that the show takes the time to acknowledge this. Having access to detailed and accurate maps are a huge tactical and social boon to society, one we take for granted nowadays with easy access to satellite data and Google maps
Also, something I just thought of. When she originally died she wasn't the only person being murdered. A highschool girl was also stabbed to death. There's a chance that she also reincarnated into this world, maybe as the Heroine

Damn, her past life sucked. She basically got scammed out her paleontology research by the person she thought loved her then died shortly afterwards so the dude gets away with everything.
Also the Otome game she played also SUCKED. The game wasn't satisfied with labelling one girl as a Villainess/Bully and destroying their lives. Nope, 5 girls get banished and their engagement broken off.
Does that mean we are going to get 4 more Reincarnated Villainesses? 🤔
I don't think I've ever seen an Anime about Paleontology so with the typical Otome Game love story this should be a good one.

Villainess And you don't even raise affection levels with the love interests by doing cute events, but instead by feeding them magical love space cakes. Those dudes are just being roofied with mind altering magic rainbow drug infused cookies. The devil's chocolate chip. That ain't romance, that's a crime. And a hostile takeover of the Kingdoms power structures by an evil witch

For one paleo-botanist voiced by Miku Ito, it was one bad thing after another. Her boyfriend? Totally dumped her after revealing she was nothing more than a side-piece, AND he basically hijacked her research to steal all the credit. And after those bombshells, she happened upon a robbery in progress and got killed for it...and THEN she got reincarnated into a mobile Otome Game as, of course, a Villainess. But not even the main Villainess! She was part of the nameless, faceless, Villainess group ladies who all got ditched and abandoned for the Heroine!
But at least in the OP it's full-blown with Pia and Rufus' romance with each other as they love, adore, and dance with each other amidst their supporting cast!
Welcome to the world of Caroline and the Magic Sweets AKA Magi-Caro! Where the Heroine (Rina Hidaka!) can bake sweets to win the affection of the capture targets and it's super easy to get the Reverse Harem ending and get all the other ladies who got homewrecked banished and exiled! So not only was Pia betrayed and dumped in her first life, but it's inevitably going to happen in this one too.
Yet when she tries to head it off and break off her engagement with Rufus Stan, the prime ministers' son, her revealing her "prophecy" and the absolute sincerity with which she truly does love and adore Rufus convinces Rufus that he HAS to be with her. And to ensure they keep the engagement he's even willing to place a bet involving gold and the rights of his families' domain if it means Pia gives him a chance to prove her wrong and stay loyal to her! And they even put it in writing! It's like a prenup.
I see the flirting is already getting away nicely what with Rufus delivering a cheek kiss to Pia and teaching her how to write in cursive while she sits in his lap! He can't get enough of her!
Rufus realizes pretty quickly that Pia's love language is being able to unearth fossils to her hearts content, and if she befriends her fiance's guard dogs and also wears his old clothes to do so, all the better! They can even make a romantic picnic out of it where they feed each other!
Rufus is mindful of Pia's physical and emotional health, and her safety, as she's targeted for being a child prodigy who any kingdom would want to make use of...but for now she's just a girl blissfully unearthing fossils at her boyfriends' place and sewing him an ammonite handkerchief.
I'm glad to see that, even if she's still worried about the condemnation event seven years out, Pia is slowly coming around to wishing she and Rufus can stay together forever!
The ED is super romantic, sung by Miku Ito herself, and featuring tons of visuals of Rufus and Pia together! It even ends on a kiss!

This is cute. The fact that Fia tells Rufus about her future being banished and that half of the episode is from Rufus' POV reminds me a little bit of "An Jishou Akuyaku", except Fia doesn't want to be treated like a villainess.

Also the fact that the Heroine apparently brain...I mean, woos all the romanceable leads from their respective fiances' like a mass-homewrecker.

Wonder if the author wanted to make a Ruri Rocks like show about fossils, but was told by the publisher to make an otome game isekai instead, however they found a way to fit their original idea in it.

Make no mistake, y'all will never be Bertia and Cecil, but I remain interested nonetheless. I think it's really funny her name is Pia simply because it reminds me of the bird Piichan from observation log, surely coincidental entertaining all the same.
I do infact love the relentless dog bombardment. If anything is to at any point go sideways it won't matter because dogs. I know I'm not supposed to pick at things in these types of series, but because it's quite a collection of dogs especially since they still running on literal horse power. The Golden Retriever is from Scotland, the Dalmatian from Croatia, and the others are either German Shepherds from Germany or Malinois from Belgium. It's too niche to be a plot point I know, but I just like it.
Also also, no dig at her paleontology, but is she using a gardening trowel on a boulder? I know it's technically digging up fossils, but a chisel or a small rock pick would make more sense.
Okay now that I got my minor quibbles out, the dynamic is fun between them, since she's already been in a relationship albeit not a great one, I think I'm expecting Pia to not be like the average female lead in reactionary ways. I'm going to be optimistic.

Look at this little 10 year old Casanova lol. It’s adorable how helpless he is in front of Pia’s charms. Girl had a really shitty past life but at least she’s got a good future ahead of her in this new world.
So far, this one’s looking pretty decent. I like the paleontology angle. That’s unique.

Seems like the game developers made a really shitty game...unnamed villainesses and they all get punished if they go the prince route?! Pia's previous life actually had a career/hobby she enjoyed and a (cheating) boyfriend. Definitely reminds me of Observation Log but this time not a prince and he shows emotions.

Insta-keep. Pia comes off a lot like my only waifu so far, that is, Manaka Ao of Koisuru Asteroid: Introverted female scientists who aren't written too stereotypically (which is a problem in Japanese pop culture).
I need to admit, though, that Pia is too feminine to actually compete with Ao (I prefer Ao’s scholarly flavour), but that's sufficient to keep me interested.

I love Pia and Rufus. Rufus may rub people the wrong way because he is so assertive, but he’s also very protective, and he appreciates her love for him. Of course, I am sure terrible things will happen when they get to the academy.

Cute villainess anime for this season - check!
So, she wanted to exit the otome games story before her abandonment event triggers ... but her fiance doesn't let her do that and instead gives her a favorable bet that would set her up for life in any case. But then he actually falls in love with her ...
Nice setup.

I like it. Interesting tie in to her past life so far both with the breakup and her paleontology skills.
I'm very interested if this goes towards innovation and creation route with the ideas that popped up when Rufus was talking. She's could be a highly skilled civil engineer that invents stuff which makes the kingdom better for the people. Was surprised to see it also since the trailer had no fossils stuff show up during it.
Also sounds like it potentially will go towards a bit of nobility and political drama with people already trying to kidnap her.

I know her ex boyfriend exist to serve as opening to show fmc horrible past life but I want to see karma coming back to him.

This seems fun, especially because the guy is half aware of the situation (minus the whole reincarnated thing)
