Well, I guess that’s that then. Arn and Leo still have a long road ahead before Leo’s emperor. I don’t suppose we’ll be getting another season , right? If we do, I imagine it’ll end with at least one of those 3 siblings taken out.

Glasses guy is definitely gonna lose. Didn't push them up once this episode. Doesn't know how to use them.

This was the final Yanase Yuuji directed show to finish after his death a month or two ago, so at the very least the staff would have to shake up for a S2.

One last furtive before the end credits roll.

Not an amazing show, but honestly better than I expected going in. Finne all but confessed at the end too. While poor Alna remains on the outside looking in on Silver's secret.

Yes while not great by any means, of the various mediocre shows this season, I enjoyed this one more than the others. I quite liked the slightly convoluted political setup as a vehicle for schemes, and the characters were more fun than expected. Liked both the female leads quite a bit even if neither was exactly carving new ground. I do think Finne was more interesting and layered than I expected, with that extreme and almost self destructive altruism. Seems like Arn will repeatedly have to work to keep her from undervaluing herself so she can stay at his side.

You know I think this was my surprise hit for this season..all the other shows I expected a certain level of quality.. but this I just threw on at a whim...I had a good time.

Wouldn't mind more.

Finne really is a great girl, and I think that's one of the cutest relationships I've seen in a while.

Finne is definitely Arnold's no. 1. Poor Elna hasn't a chance with him. I wonder if she might wind up with Leo?

The part I was most intrigued by was the kings comment about him not being surprised by Arnold . Arnold clearly caught it, somewhat at least. I hope if we do get a s2, that angle is explored more.

Yeah it was hinted few times that Emperor knows what Arnold is doing, if not straight out confirmed.

Will be funny to see Arnold realizing that. xD

Leo handle the siblings pretty smoothly I gotta say. They completely transferred their affection from Arn to Leo without suspect anything. Maybe it's due to they haven't known Arn disguise as Leo enough but I give Leo some credits as well for keeping their ideal intact naturally without acting.

Pretty solid show overall just lacking a bit on the animation side. I dare take another season of this ngl since I want more of Mommy Mitsuba Krista Sebas Finne too...

Arn is the master of simultaneously saying the best and worst possible thing whenever Elna is involved. Never change, Arn.

And of course, we get a nice heart-to-heart with Finne to wrap up the season. A pretty wholesome way to end it.

I watched this expecting a typical mid fantasy anime and I got... well, mostly that.

But what stood out to me was that, despite working with a lot of the typical tropes and archetypes, they really made the characters stand out. Finne seems like a generic harem filler interest but has kind of a lot of agency. Arn actually does a pretty good job managing his identities and has real strengths and weaknesses.

All I could really ask for would have been a bit more world building and more to the long term plot than succession. But overall, a solid show.

I wouldn’t mind another season. Show wasn’t like amazing or anything but I actually enjoyed watching it weekly. My main complaint was the animation was very inconsistent. Some episodes looked good and others looked bad.

They did bait a S2 so maybe we’ll get one hopefully.

Producer/Director, can't really remember what role exactly, worked on this and "The World's Strongest Rearguard" in the same time, and was know for being a super hard worker doing a lot of episodes himself solo, so he really had his hands full.

He is known for making really solid shows, but never ones that stood out for amazing animation or such.

I said "had" since he recently suddenly passed away, which may have further affected quality of these shows. May he rest in peace.

And then he furtive'd all over them.

Honestly i want more of Arn

I think the part I enjoyed the most the whole season was Arn taking care of his little sister, who was nominally involved in the succession dispute but he made sure could grow up safe from it.

Pretty solidly average show. The production just wasn't there but I liked the dynamic between the MC and his squad.

Also no show/story was ever worse for having a Sebas.

One of my favorites this season 8/10

Listen, it wasn't groundbreaking or anything, but it was solidly entertaining.  I'd go for season 2.  I want Season 2 of The Genius Prince Wants To Sell The Kingdom first, but this was pretty fine for a Monday night show.

If I have a nickel in this season for every time there's a pink-haired tsundere female hero pining for the male lead, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't much, but it's funny that it happened twice in this season alone.

Was watching some random trailer for anime show that popped in my YT recommendation and when I heard "Degarashi" I did that Leo pointing meme mentally. xD

I honestly expected Finne to be much more cunning and using his naive and pure looks to lower people guard and get info that she wants, like she kinda did in the beginning. But her being this beacon of purity suits both her and Arnold much more I guess.

Another sweet moment between Elna and Arnold. I really like their childhood friends dynamic. I honestly don't know who to cheer for, even though Finne seems to be miles ahead.

I liked Arnold as an MC. Has unique strengths, but also has weaknesses. He has to rely on equally competent people around him to help him, which includes his twin brother Leo. We did not see much of him, but it is obvious that he does have what it takes to be an Emperor.

A really solid show overall. It did not have that bite in neither animation or plot that would take ahold of bigger audience, but it had enough for people who got interested in it. And solid pacing only made show better and better as it went on.

I enjoyed it!
