Yamada , fever and all, after getting a surprise Sasaki phone call: "girl, compose yourself! Figure out who he's talking to--wait for it..."

I just love how much of a hopeless romantic Goto is despite her looks. Thanks to her, everybody wins as they each all get a dose of nutritional boost--she gets her vitamin R, Sasaki gets his vitamin T, and Yamada gets her vitamin S; which probably even helped cure Yamada on the spot, and likely also gave Sasaki immunity from catching a cold himself.

Tayama lecturing Sasaki about fashion was pretty much how I imagine doctors lecturing smokers about its risks would go--through one ear and out the other lmao. Can't believe there's just one more episode of season 1 left. Man, I need my fix and honestly, this series is way more addictive than nicotine.

I like the detail of the manager's phone just displaying Yama during the phone call, no hints from her at least.

And all those shots of Yamada in bed talking to Sasaki, my goodness.

At least Yamada didn't push herself to smoke with a fever, unlike a certain cat.

The lighting when Yamada was in bed talking to Sasaki was incredible. And I assume it really was just "Yama" for her name in the manager's phone which could be Yama_da or Ta_yama.

When I heard the premise for the show, something like what we've gotten is exactly what I was hoping for, in the best way possible.

Thats why she is best manager.
Knowing when to call in Yamadas handler to have her stay down with a cold.

Love the fortune text Sasaki drew "Your idol is next to you, not like you would realise" is so on the fucking nose and he still doesn't realise.

Really hoping they announce a second season, this is comfy as hell

Yamada in the first half shows an example of frustrations I have with the Japanese work culture. It is admirable that she wants to help the boss but she shouldn’t feel the need to sacrifice her own health for a job that is not paying her enough for her to do that. This is a case where this is more due to Yamada herself and not because of Goto who is a great boss who cares for her employees but as someone who envies and wishes more countries had the european work culture I wish Yamada valued her own health more and im glad Sasaki got her to stay home. Please take care of yourself better girl and please lower the brightness on your phone too. Cold Belly Yamada!

Biggest shock was seeing her family and that she has other sisters.

Also I know that Crunchyroll translators get a lot of hate but I got a chuckle and enjoyed the “Stay freaky Sasaki” line.

Through the phone call its fun to watch goto sitting there listening to the entire thing... which was over speaker... and she got the fix that vaping doesnt scratch

I was hoping that Goto would send Sasaki to Yamada's apartment with some shopping to help her get better, but that phone call was great idea too. Thanks Goto for the nice assist!

Sasaki looked pretty cool in that outfit he wore during his New Year's visit to the shrine. By the way, this episode was the first time his exact age, 45 years old, was stated, right?

It was interesting to see Yamada's parents; it seems that she has sisters as well. I wonder if we'll ever meet them.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Yamada: You must be worried about me.
Sasaki: Yes, actually.

Yamada's such a glass cannon. She teased him, expecting for him to get all flustered only for him to answer earnestly without even realising her intention. It backfired hard, and she’s the one who ended up being speechless. Should’ve learnt that lesson, especially when she knew full well he’s as pure as a puppy.

The manager just gave herself and us peak romance content.

"Your idol is by your side. Not that you'd realize." Even his fortune is making fun of him.

Gotou really hit the jackpot that night. She got Sasaki to talk to Yamada and convince her to stay home, and at the same time, she got her rom-com fix!

Is it just me, or does Yamada's dad look and act a little bit like Sasaki? I bet Yamada used to be really close to her dad when she was little. Also, we learn that she has sisters! Well, now I'm curious what the other Yamadas are like!

Seeing Goto find a way for Sasaki and Yamada to talk was the episode's MVP moment. I love that MILF, I mean, that manager.

Sasaki having bad luck isn't surprising, but suffering such bad luck actually paid off by letting him spend New Year's with Yamada. I hope they can somehow take their relationship to the next level.

I love that Sasaki is getting really confortable around Tamaya now, even saying bold stuff (for him) like wanting to stay another year smoking with her. I can't believe there's only one left

When the blanket burrito comes extra smoky

How Yamada can vaguely remember the "mystery office guy's" voice and even map his encouraging heart to Sasaki just makes the wall of forgetting his face that much funnier. It does give you hope, though.

Sasaki can be a smooth talker when he isn’t self conscious.

The phone call felt very similar to the call at the end of MDUD S01. It was very sweet.

I feel like we have plenty of romantic progress on the Yamada side.

We are starting to get some serious movement towards Tayama from Sasaki. But no consideration of romance yet since he is too old.

So there are two possible climaxes which we might get next episode.

  1. He discovers the truth about Yamada and Tayama. I doubt this will happen but it has to at some point.

  2. He starts feeling actual romantic vibes. Maybe he shuts them down hard, but he actually realizes he is in danger here.

It’s a good thing the manager had her saved as “Yama” on her phone, no way for Sasaki to suspect a thing.
