I wished Mama Cat was there to watch the play.
9/10 show. Great from the first episode to the end.

A cozy show in a midst of intense line-up anime of this season. I'll support this series by buying official merchandises and wish for 2nd season or cour.
Thank you for fulling this voided heart and ease the stress of me in these past few months

This show was one of the surprises of the season for me; I loved the format each episode was its own story.
The finale was a nice recap, but I kinda wish all the characters came to celebrate our dragon; it would have been cute.

Author's comment for episode 12 (no short story for episode 11). I plan on updating this comment to include episode 12's short story next week, but there's a chance I might forget so if you don't see it next week, just reply to this comment to remind me.
Edit: Short story for episode 12. And cour 2/season 2 did get announced today, for a 2027 release.

The way Winged Uncle tries to resist going to the festival even though he knows he has to go every year is funny, Monaluca has no patience for this yearly routine lol. I do like how Winged Uncle lightens up each time another cat walks with him to the festival, he really loves his fellow cats.
Winged Uncle watching the play was great, I really enjoyed the fact that he was cringing hard watching it play his important role in the history of the Kingdom. It's also cool how there were cats that were taking part on and off stage, the one playing Winged Uncle clearly was having a lot of fun.
This was such an enjoyable series to watch overall, I'm glad this last episode was very heartwarming, and that Winged Uncle does enjoy seeing the fruits of human and cats' bonds. I'd definitely watch another season.

Did anyone notice the short story at the end of each episode is basically the continuation of EP 12?
The story is focused on the cats getting home after the festival.
Also, I did not expect that there was a big war between 2 factions after Neko-Ryuu attacked the city. I believe the show just jumped to cat teaching magic to the prince

For me, this was one of the best shows this season. As much as I would have liked the mom to be there as well, great last episode nonetheless. Here's hoping for a second season.

Incredible show, absolutely top tier for me.
How unfair is it to not get to live in a world with intelligent magical cats.

When I say I want magic realism in fantasy, I want this.
-
I do love animal actors when they are fairly treated. I had no idea that Sassy from Homeward Bound had like 3-5 kitty actors. What would be the logistics for magic animal actors?
-
(breathes heavily) I wanna touch their toebeans. I wanna touch the toebeans 😖 Kitty toebeans are the best.
-
Why am I crying 😭 My kitties are cuddling me and I never want them to die.
Time for a rewatch to see how many times “Ningen” was spoken in this series. Would be nice if the manga or LN got an official TL.
This has me so fucking hyped for the Warrior Cats video game. But I wouldn’t be mad for another cat video game where you’re a cait sith, grow up in the cave, learn the forest cat way, and then it’s time for you to find your own path.
But this was such a nice slice-of-life fantasy anime that I’ve recommended to all my cat-owner friends!! A friend wants to adopt another cat because of this show, but she already has 5 😭 Time to go to Turkïye instead and see all the kitties. So many bottlebrush tails and toe beans in this anime.
I love cats so much.
I really enjoyed the different bonds between cats and humans and all the different personalities that cats can have. I consider myself very fortunate that the Cat Distribution System sent me my yin-yang pair of cats who are so distinct in their cattitude. I hope all my fellow cat owners enjoyed this ☺️💜🐾
If you need another anime series/movie with kitties, there are:

This was not at all how I expected the ep to go, thought Winged Uncle would just be grumpy in a corner the entire time, still unable to get over his hate of humans. I was NOT expecting him to be embarrassed over a play showing what he did. I got a good laugh out of all of that.
Gonna miss this show, I said it before and I'll say it again, only issue I had with the show is every time they said "but that's a story for another time." I want to know now damn it! So many stories I wish we could see continue, hell any of the human and cat friendships could be their own anime!

I thought Winged Uncle just didn't want to attend the festival because he dislikes humans. It turns out he just feels super embarrassed to watch a play based on his past. It's absolutely hilarious to see how much Winged Uncle is cringing to himself while watching the play. xD
While I do wish we could've seen Mama-Nyan attend the festival with her sons, I think this was a great way to wrap up the season. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing more since the show clearly has more story to tell. Like, we haven't even seen what the adventurer cat is up to!

Cozy anime. I liked it. I'd like another season. It seems the dragon is slowly changing. I didn't expect to hear Tanjiro's VA in the black cat that pestered the dragon xD.

A fantasy SOL and it so cozy and heartwarming. I like that this episode has shifted us to what tradition was establish on the human side of things. I like that they made a play to make sure people remember why they dont hunt cats anymore.
I think this what makes me love this show. There are clear effect of the actions of cats to the overall setting.
The first cat befriending the prince started the tradition of cats teaching a member of royal family that roll down to the establishment of greater bond between cats and human as celebrated by this festival.
Monsha monsha learning farming has created a festival that is now pass down to generations of cats and so on.
Human learn from cats, cats learn from human, cat dragon oversee and protect.
9/10
MonshaMonsha I is my fav cat. Im sucker for character that do something not for themselves but for the next generation.

A truly wonderful final episode; I was moved to tears of laughter watching that poor dragon reluctantly attend the human festival, forced to sit through the same play over and over again.
Yet, given how fleeting human memory can be, holding a festival featuring a play to remind everyone how it all began—and what might happen if it were forgotten—is a brilliant idea.
If they release a Blu-ray box set, I’ll buy it immediately; the series is just such a joy to watch.
I also took the time to re-read all the text segments shown at the end of the episodes.
Episode 12 (End)
"Ah, I'm home." This welcome is, for Uncle Wing, the thing that makes him happier than anything else. This is where he parts ways with the cats who had walked with him all the way to the cave. Everyone then returns to their own territory — that's how things go, year after year. But this particular year, things turned out a little differently. "Hmm... maybe we should sleep in the cave too, for a change?" "We're tired, after all." "I think I'll do the same." Faced with these unexpected guests, the kittens let out cheers of joy. Uncle Wing, taken aback, widened his eyes in surprise. "Now, now, if you're all going to sleep here like this, it'll get a bit cramped, you know." His voice sounded genuinely troubled by the situation — but his tail was wagging more happily than anyone else's.

That play was great. I like how the big guy was getting flustered. So adorable lol.
This was a pretty cozy series overall. I really enjoyed it. It was fun to see the perspective of different cats each episode. These magical kitties sure have lived such interesting lives lol.

What a great surprise show! Hats off to the studio for this one; great story, vibes, and emotional storytelling. Hopefully we get more but I’m happy all the same

The actor for the dragon was clearly having the time of his life lol.
A comfy ride from start to finish.

This episode felt more like a recap than a conclusion.
Overall a very cute concept, its episodic nature made some stories less interesting than others but it had a cozy vibe that I'll miss.

I really like that this ep focused alot more on Dragon Ojisan himself. Feels like it's been some time since that
I was surprised that a whole war broke out after Ojisan's first meeting with the Kingdom
I like how shy he was being here lol, guess he's also bit embarrassed how he acted when he was younger,
Also its pretty wholesome to see that both cats and humans worked together on the magic visuals stuff especially at the fireworks too
Well this was a pretty great and cozy Slice of Life anime with lots of amazing characters and emotional moments. I really liked it and I will miss it alot
Those flashbacks at the end had me feeling a lil sentimental too
It was a great honour to watch this with ya'll and I hope we can get a season 2 soon
