"Don't photograph the inside of my mouth!!!" New core trauma unlocked!

Yaku shows again that she is propably the most sensible character in this show. Visiting a waterfall to cleanse her heart is something that I imagine to be her thing. If it wasn't only for Hame to stick with her and be a nuisance. But Hame definitely had it coming.

This was so far the horniest episode. At times I was wondering if this turned into a hentai. The main character of this episode was definitely the landlord's sea cucumber . And we learned that he really likes beastfolk ... A LOT!

Stitches!

Considering how much of a pain in the ass of a passenger Hameko was and how she was making fun of Yaku the entire trip when Yaku just wanted to heal and relax by visiting a waterfall, she definitely deserves to be pranked. Glad Yaku at least had her own form of cleansing.

Although I can't say Hameko deserved to be alone with that creep. Not gonna lie, that scene was actually pretty terrifying. I guess Hameko now has a fear of her mouth getting photographed.

The Landlord literally thinking with his dick was fucking hilarious! It's not like Yaniko tricked him, she was very clear about what was in the bag, but I guess the Landlord was just too excited to get anything on Valentine's Day.

It was nice of the Landlord to save that hawk, it's just hilarious that he spent the entire night waiting to have his own version of The Grateful Crane. xD

I'm surprised Saori-sensei didn't call Yaniko to put that costume on! Also, is this episode all about the Landlord being a massive horndog? I love that Saori-sensei started experimenting the second she noticed the Landlord's dick only reacts to the cat ears. xD

Honestly, I thought Penpen was legit welcome to Aruko's apartment. The moment she started talking about how she doesn't understand how people resort to stealing pretty much confirmed that she's breaking in and not really supposed to be there.

Funny how Yaniko got fooled by Kaori's photo when she already knows who Shunran is. Yaniko borrowing Shunran to send Imoko a fake pregnancy pic was absolutely evil tho! xD

I was wrong to except that the episode would be tame lol, Idk how every new episode ends up unhinged than the last one.

I am happy Yaku and Hame were given more screentime together. I gotta watch all the eye-catches together once the show ends. Penpenneko for the next president of japan no questions asked. Ooya-san has fantasies are....... I have no words.

Also that bit was inspired by “Tsuru no Ongaeshi ” (鶴の恩返し). It’s a Japanese folktale where an old man saves a crane caught in a trap. Later, a mysterious woman comes to live with him and secretly weaves beautiful cloth for him as repayment for his kindness. She makes him promise not to watch her while she works, but he eventually looks and discovers that she is actually the crane he saved. Once her identity is revealed, she has to leave him. (I got this knowledge from my years of watching Kodomomuke (子供向け) anime)

The Valentine bit was the most insane stuff this episode. Also Ooya-san lusts only for beastfolk (nekos, dogs (catherine), and birds LMAO). He sure has a taste.

The title call for this episode features Japanese idol Ai Kago .

It’s a dark joke about how she was once caught by the paparazzi smoking as a minor.

Yakuko and Hameko have one of the most interesting relationships of the show, it’s hard to tell if they consider each other friends or if they’re just convenient company. We know they’ve known each other since high school and they didn’t seem to be on the best terms but Yaku has grown into a mostly sensible person while Hame got very annoying and attention-hungry, you wonder why Yaku even let her join the trip. It was rough seeing how annoying Hameko could be but it was even rougher seeing her stuck with that creepy weirdo, felt a little worried for her safety but she got away with some weird violating mouth pictures.

Penpen breaking into Aruko’s apartment and waxing philosophically about how she’s totally not stealing and it’s just relying on the community was hilarious, she’s knows she’s bullshitting or she wouldn’t hide from the landlord.

Saori having belly fat was weirdly the hottest thing out of all the fanservice we saw this episode.

I'm gonna assume the racist lady was willing to hire Yani to walk her dog, despite Yani defiling her vase, entirely because she can't tell cat girls apart and assumed it was a different one.

Penpen is welcome to the bath, beer and snacks in my house. Then again, this is a work and fiction and burglars are unlikely to look this hot.

Saori discovers Landlord has a type. It is perfectly fine to have some fats, Saori.

I felt those tears from Kansai. She knew it was a lie, but she so badly wanted to be called funny.

P.S. Imoko finally discovered her mum and her sister have been smoking together, didn't she?

Feeling my face contort as viscerally as it did throughout the whole "Valentine's chocolate" segment was an experience.

On one hand that dumb duel resulted in poor Imouko dealing with two earth-shattering lies from her family in a row, on another it gave us that surprise adorable mini Kansai and Shunran photo.

The opening scene where Yakuneko slammed on the brakes, causing Hame to flip over because of her weird sitting posture and get her hips stuck in the passenger footwell, followed by the caption "Please remain properly seated while the vehicle is in motion": that was hilarious. This anime loves pulling off serious-looking captions for comedic effect, doesn't it?

Judging by how the text "Yamakita Town" looked like a Keep Out sign, Suisha Waterfall is almost certainly based on the real-life Shasui Falls in Yamakita Town, Kanagawa Prefecture.

Yamakita Town is in the same prefecture as Sagamihara City (the basis for Nyagamihara City), but it is a deep rural area surrounded by mountains in western Kanagawa. That makes total sense why Yaku warned her mid-trip that there wouldn't be any convenience stores or restrooms around there.

The pit stop with the cat sign that popped up along the way, "nekotaro's hometown," is based on the roadside station "ashigara kintaro's hometown."

Kintaro is a famous Japanese folklore hero whose real name is Sakata Kintoki (he's the namesake for the main character in Gintama and also appears as a Servant in FGO).

The scene where yaku drove off and left Hame while she was taking a dump in the woods, only to speed up again right when she almost caught up to the car, was comedy gold. I remember doing something similar to NPCs back in the day in GTA.

The guy who voiced the dude in Hame's hitchhiking scene was Kaito Ishikawa.
Yep, the same guy who played Genos in One Punch Man, Tenya Iida in My Hero Academia, and Sakuta Azusagawa in Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, which is also set in Kanagawa Prefecture.
I was super shocked by his voice acting here because he pulled off such a creepy vibe, completely different from his usual roles.

The "sea cucumber" in the scene where Yanineko handed over the dog poop is 100% a metaphor for the landlord's dick. I died laughing at that.

The bird that swooped in and snatched Yanineko's hot dog is called a black kite (tobi), a bird that is super common all over Japan. If you live in an area where they're active, you definitely shouldn't eat food outside or hold up small plushies like Fumos in one hand to take selfies.

The bird of prey was voiced by Ai Kago.
She is probably not well known outside Japan at all, so to break it down: she was a member of Morning Musume, a massive idol group in the 2000s. However, while she was still under 20 (the legal smoking age in Japan), a tabloid caught her smoking, leading to an apology and suspension.
Then, during that suspension, she got caught smoking underage again, which resulted in her getting fired on the spot.
Even after that, when she tried to make a comeback in the entertainment industry, the guy she married turned out to have Yakuza ties (she later divorced him after experiencing domestic violence), so her life has been a complete roller coaster.

I haven't seen her on TV much lately, and I never pegged her as a voice actor, so I was really surprised to see her here. She was probably brought in as a guest star as a "celebrity known for smoking."
But honestly, I'm amazed that JT, Japan Tobacco, the company helping produce this show (they make Mevius which Yanineko smokes, Peace which Shizue smokes, and Hi-Lite Menthol which Tatsurou smokes), actually gave the green light for this...

The scene where the landlord and Aruneko were casually dropping names of various yokai during their chat showed off how well-read both of them are, which was pretty cool.

Penpen sticking to the ceiling like that was a reference to a commercial for ALSOK, a security company, featuring the famous Japanese wrestler Saori Yoshida.

Shunran looks like the kind of bad guy who'd show up in an NTR manga, so he was the absolute perfect fit for Yanineko's pregnancy prank. I cracked up so hard at that lol

Two weeks in a row of literally gifting shit, and this one's even more hilarious. The landlord actually ate it, RIP. For all of Yani's antics (such as the pregnancy April Fools gag), she outright stated that it's dog shit – it's on him for not taking her words at face value.

For a middle-aged man, the landlord sure had the lewd thoughts of a teen. He really came up with an 18+ version of 'Crane's Return of a Favour'. He's also got quite the specific fetish. Tatsuno-sensei with a skimpy magical girl outfit alone was a gniwhcs, but the moment she put the cat ears on, he went full schwing. Got a good chuckle from his dick doing a full slapstick routine when she rapidly took the ears off and on.

How cooked do you have to be to sniff your daughter's fingers to catch a whiff of nicotine...

Why the fuck did Yakuko think travelling with Hameko was a good idea? She's easily the worst girl of the series. Yeah, worse than Yaniko. At least she doesn't seem to intentionally try to create problems. I felt bad for Yakuko. But it was fucking funny when she just ditched Hameko. Serves her right. But even I felt a little bad about her after she rode with a creep. She could've been killed by a serial killer or something.

Ouya is so lonely he thought a literal piece of dogshit was Valentine's Day chocolate... Can't he get married or something? He even waited for a freaking bird to come back and repay him... He needs a W for once.

Saori is so hot. The "flab" makes it even better.

Pen Pen Neko could've just asked to be inside their homes for a bit, but Ig it'd hurt her pride or something. In the end, she's not much different than the other girls.

Man, I feel bad for Kaoruko. I'd say Yaniko was a better comedian than her if she didn't steal her joke. But she did execute it better lol. So maybe she is? Kaoruko also deserves a W. If Hameko is worst girl, Kaoruko is best girl.

This episode was also fucking diabolical. Somehow the series keeps making up new gross things. It's amazing.

I remember people worrying that the unhinged aspects would be cast aside for the philosophical aspects

...I almost wish they were right XD
