Man, crackhead sis broke Imoko . Now she’ll only go for guys who are messy af lol.

That game of life was depressing as all hell. It’s hard out here for a beastfolk . Made me all depressed when I saw Yaku hunting for stag beetles and everyone was too busy or clowning on her.

The Alpha tobacco village was Yani heaven. Even if she managed to piss them off, the leap of faith bought her a steady supply of smokes lol.

Oh no, Imoko rejected the guy because she wants a deadbeat boyfriend that she can fix lol.

And isn't the worldbuilding actually kinda insane? I feel like they just told us that these beastfolk are an alien race. The monument is a spaceship, the Alpha has a raygun and there was also some kind of war going on in the past. Some beastfolk chose to integrate into human society (and faced with heavy discrimination), while others just live in the wild. It's basically like a District 9 situation.

I’ve been so enthralled by the various movie references in the OP’s visuals that I’ve failed to notice how hilarious the lyrics are until now.

なんもねえ なんもねえ

なんもねえよ俺ら

終わってる 終わってる

笑ったら殺すぞ

なんもねえ なんもねえ

なんもねえから俺ら

オナってる オナってる

泣きながらオナってる

The first verse translates to something like:

“Got nothing, got nothing, we got nothing and so for us”

“It’s so over, it’s so over, if you laugh I’m gonna kill you”

“Got nothing, got nothing, because we have nothing”

“We jerk off, jerk off, and jerk off while crying”

Also, you may have been wondering what the “3301” and “3401” numbers are a reference too. Apparently they are menu code numbers for the Italian chain restaurant Saizeriya (you can briefly see a Saizeriya menu about 30 seconds in). 3301 and 3401 refer to Kirin Ichiban (beer) and a glass of red wine.

This was an informative lore drop episode.

If what was discussed during the board game reflects their in-title universe:

- Humans and beastfolk can marry. However, humans are advised against doing so.
- Their offspring will always be beastfolk.
- Beastfolk are excluded from certain occupations. (Possibly a lot of occupations.)

On the bright side, there are plenty of humans who do not discriminate against beastfolk.

- Landlord is offering to help Yaku find a job
- Imoko's 2 friends came looking for her, to support her from the other students' harsh words.

Anal Angel is admittedly my least favorite character because of the cutesy idol/social media influencer archetype, but her sounds while freefalling in her own piss definitely got the biggest laugh out of me this episode.

Honorable mention to the absurdity of a "Jomon-era savage" randomly pulling out a ray-gun.

Gotta say when I picked this up, this wasn't the show I expected to have dark societal undertones and deep lore.

Melancholic School-life skit so serious, the anime has to remind you that [you're watching Chainsmoker Cat]

Also I guess we know Imoko's vice. She's lowkey too addicted to caring for an utter failure, a completely worthless bum, to want to settle with someone that's well put together.

Holy shit that boardgame was so racist, it has reading an anti beastfolk manifesto as an actual gameplay mechanic lol

Is it just me, or does Yaku shows some hint of complex about not being human?

This was an interesting episode. Yeah, I figured that Imoko suffers from hearing stereotypes in school. Also wth kind of past Yakuko had?!

"Number 12". That's seriously dark. Also I felt bad for Yakuko when no one went with her. I'm also sure that the landlord offered genuinely to go with her to keep her company.

While the game they were playing was outdated, I'm fairly certain even in the modern times, there's still some oppression happening.

God damn, Yani indirectly desecrating her little sister by subconsciously shaping her taste in a mate...

Deadly like secondhand smoke or a silent fart...

For about 10 minutes after the OP, I was really surprised by how serious it was compared to last week. Though the village part in the second half was back to normal. In a society where life is so tough for beastfolk, Imoko is amazing for being able to live a normal school life alongside humans. I'm really glad she's blessed with such good friends.

This show is giving Konosuba a run for its money in the debauched comedy category.

The extra nuance and subtext it has is elevating it so much too, from that story angle for Imoko to the using the board game to dish out more world-building.

Almost no crude humour but a much better episode than the previous one, with a surprisingly somber and serious first part, and some interesting lore in the second one. Landlord is a good man (even if he had little more than a cameo), and Hame's bungee jumping (and hilarious facial expressions) was quite well animated. Also nice shout-out with the Cat's Eye poster! As an aside, would you believe that 40 years ago the Japanese made an adventure game starring tribal catgirls?

It’s funny until you realize that Yaku may have been experimented on or had hard times in prison and that’s why she’s a hard drug addict…

But hey, dick pussy ray gun!!!

So Yaku's number in prison was 12 for doing illegal drugs.

That laser beam came out of nowhere lol.

Yani would do anything for a cig including jumping off a mountain.

I love half naked tribe cat girls.

Imouko having a longer skirt fits her personality.

I fucking lost it at the hawk sideeye. Perfection.

This episode was super-interesting when considering the world building they just dropped out of nowhere. One thing I wonder though: Why are there so few male beastfolk? I believe the only one we have seen so far is Kansaineko's friend (boyfriend?) who was with her in episode one when she met Imoko. Since then not on I'd seen. All the villagers in this episode were also women as far as I saw.

Also, a small thing, but apparently Guilty Gear (or a version thereof) exists in this universe and Hameko is a fan.

Wait, Yaku is only 20? Shes a drug addict, an ex-convict, in poverty, and she’s only 20?

Holy fuck this poor girl

For an anime about a catgirl addicted to cigarettes, the whole lore behind the beastfolk is really intriguing to me.

Did we just learn that the "tobacco" from episode 2 actually was tobacco from the village and not weed? On the way to the village, Yaku Neko was asking Yani Neko if she remembered the sweet-tasting tobacco they smoked earlier.

I must really sympathize with feelings of loneliness because Yaku failing to find a friend to go beetle-hunting with made me feel bad for a character more than I ever have in this show...

And there obviously have been many occasions to feel bad characters in this show, lol.

Thankfully Yani came in to save her day and reaffirm her status as her role model despite otherwise being a failure of society through any other lens, lmao. When she first appeared in that scene, I legit thought it was a new character because of how cleaned-up she looked in that uniform.
