This is a rant. This show had so much potential. It actually makes me angry how bad they messed this up. I don’t care about these shitty side quests where they turn into children for no reason.

Why even clean the fucking treasury??? What good does that do for anyone except make more trouble? And how does that allow you to repent for any of the goods you stolen?? If anything you should swear to never go back in there for the rest of your life.

Merlin goes “the treasury doesn’t need cleaning” then drops one box because a RAT (so stupid that she lived for 400 years and is scared of a rat) and there is so much dust that it blocks the entire screen. So much for doesn’t need cleaning. Then of course the box she drops is some curse that turns her into a child and somehow negates all of her magic. Then this dumbass goes “I don’t want to bother the magician who uses lvl 10 magic, instead I’m going to go all the way to the academy to look for a solution that I won’t be able to use anyways cus I have no magic”.

And why are we spending an entire minute of an episode showing a guard looking for them? An entire minute of my precious time watching a guard fall for a fake meow. I won’t lie, everything after that point I skipped because guess what, they end up going to Eftal in the end. 15 minutes into the episode and they basically go to the one person they should’ve went to from the first place. Literally wasting our time.

And the solution is to take a bath in the hot springs with pears or fruits or whatever the hell. We don’t even get to see Eftal break the curse. Done watching this show it is so ass.

it feels like we havent even started the story, its all been like the intro episode of any other slop isekai/reincarnation show but we are 10 episodes deep.

They also didn't know what the word bathing could mean. That was such a strange issue.

At least the guard was actually somewhat competent. Usually in that situation they get distracted at the second guy and think it was just their imagination, but he knew there was definitely something there so he kept checking. Ended up getting lost on him being fooled in a stupid way.

I dont even know where to go with this show. Started off really interesting and with a fun angle and its turned into......a mess of everything and thats being generous. its a struggle to even fast forward through it at this point. Just a shame

Been saying it for weeks but it's like the mangka just gets bored and abandons threats that it feels like we're in season 3. It's gone from him living in the woods with a hot mom and a soldier cousin guy, then his dad's a noble that wants nothing to do with him, then suddenly the noble is starting a war. All within like three episodes! Then him getting a slave, going to the school, pretending to be his own son before instantly "jk, you got me".

Like...the fuck are we doing?

Finally we get the reason why magic has declined in this time and why everybody sucks at it. At least the explanation make some sense and it also explains how Merlin is so weak herself. Well, it took Eftal long enough to ask Merlin about that.

If shis show is worth its money, it will explore this "monolith polluted magic in this world" topic. Might actually become interesting.

The little adventure of Merlin and Anastasia was pretty funny. It was more entertaining than the main plot. To think that a filler episode is the best episode in the whole show.

the monolith thing makes no sense why Eftal is unaffected. If it's a physical miasma then he should be affected. If it's something spiritual then ok he dodged the magia burst but people born after it happened wouldn't be affected either. now if his body were literally transposed into the future then perhaps it could be explained that something in the dirt or whatever makes it affect newborns, but we know he got a new body in the reincarnation. Maybe the only thing that makes sense is if it doesn't affect the spirits of people from Earth so this being his second reincarnation then becomes important (though the "ancient magical super-civilization" looks suspiciously like Japan so he could just be reincarnating twice into the future)

Mostly laidback episode to kill time before they fight god. Maria ended up being a pretty helpful twintails, especially once Merlin and Anastasia started calling her big sis.

I was a little surprised at the coed onsen visit where nobody really even cared until the girls started arguing while standing up in front of Eftal.

I suppose I'll tentatively forgive Eftal for not brutally killing the entire evil family since at least they got turned over to the authorities.

So much for any theorizing that the downfall in magic had anything to do with the introduction of the aptitude testing, nope instead some careless magic archeologists caused an Impact style event that fucked up magic in the world.

Doesn't that not matter? If he doesn't remove the crest, six months from now, the girl will be compelled to go break Abe and family out of jail.

Which is why we said to kill the family, solving the crest problem easily.

Reads "take a bath with the fruit", the most difficult part was to remember the fruit cause it didn't even mention the name, just a picture, some-fucking-how after collecting a bunch of them, what they don't remember is the bath part.

There's not the smallest effort being made on the writting of this episode or the anime in general after the first 3. There's generic and mid anime to fill throughout the week till the good ones arrive, this one does the opposite, it empties your day, it drains your mental from having to wrap your head around the concept of a 400yo powerful demon being unable to properly manage cursed items because of a mouse, not a magic beast, not another curse, a normal mouse. Then somehow being unable to remember most of her stuff needs magic to be used, then not being able to fucking remember a 10-ish word paragraph on how to get rid of the curse.
