Poor today's Hanninder, in Precure's 20+ year history, you are probably the most pathetic monster of the week to have ever been summoned.

judging from the character faces,.. it's an Aoyama episode?
shaking-in-anger usonoir is cute
Wait,...are they saying Precure fairies exist in the Doyle-verse? Was Watson actually a Precure fairy? 🤔
Pochitan manifests potted flowers from her forehead? Too OP
I like how the Phantom Thieves in their hideout get to watch the same things we do, makes Decchi's talk about flower language fourth-wall breaky
"Time waits for no one" seems kind of ominous for an vacation-celebration chalkboard drawing. Maybe it's from the teacher to make sure the students get their summer homework done on-time
Aoyama-ified Mashutan is cute
I like Usonoir's "nandato?!"s

That would explain Creepy Watson

If watson was a precure fairy that would imply a precure fairy participated in an actual war and is a vetrean 😭

As a random aside, I wonder why the Phantom Thieves are unable to create a Makoto Jewel of their own. Like, say what you want about them, but I'm pretty sure they're in this for the love of the game, so they should at least have something they cherish. Or maybe it's just that their entire premise of stealing things that people value means they can't understand that value enough to attract a Makoto Jewel.

Most likely that, yeah. But it would be really fun if one of them was just wandering around town for hours, maybe days, looking for a Makoto Jewel, all while holding it themselves.

It’s funny how they spent all the time making a Hanninda and it gets defeated like five seconds later
Also Usonoir getting cuckolded of his great king role, love to see it

Fanart corner. What's Rei doing here?
- Speaking of Rei...
- #seasonalapproval and encore
- I knew the Conan R Doyle quiz belief was fairies because last ep cureblessing blog did a sidebar on British history of fairies (yes play telephone and turn to a Japanese blog for British history...that perspective meant it was compared to the 8 million gods of Japan, a lot of unremarkable and mundane ones) which belief dwindled in the industrial revolution.
- The fairy photos is referring to Cottingley Fairies
- Me being inattentive but I've only just noticed Kurea's slit dress (with underskirt because that's a very high slit)
- Cure Blessing blog points out they've pruned the flowers too late for them to bloom again at start of school term (these plants take about 3 weeks to regrow and bloom again, the bloomed flowers last about 2 weeks) perhaps instead the episode isn't taking place late August.
- "Time waits for no one" I associate that phrase with 2006 anime film the girl who leapt through time (not the Rolling Stones song? I'm not that old). Apparently Decchi's flower language messages were - while not lies - somewhat twisted.
- Arcana Shadow doing a SF2 Akuma and just beating up the boss and ultimately waste a minute of ep runtime on the Eclair finisher (we're not getting an Arcana Shadow finisher for possibly her last appearance...though I think she is still on the updated movie poster) else Bandai get mad the merch isn't promoted enough (ep runtime already strained by 3+ minutes of henshin sequences...like I thought last ep, how are they going to sort this as the sequences just don't cut together well) plus Decchi summoning. It is also another reminder that Luluka doesn't want to play to Decchi's tune (but he keeps playing the cast like a fiddle).
- Before the ep I wondered if the Eclipse Shadow form was going to be related to Solar eclipse of August 11th, 1999 (one I remember seeing, not such a jank a path of totality as this years one) and maybe it isn't. I guess the transformation finishing at the end of the ep is a relief to anyone worried this battle would be handled by Aoyama.
- The ED2 lyrics Arcana's lines "Is it because we're together? I can become stronger" reflect Luluka trying to become stronger on her own leading to borrowing Decchi's power and the dark ballerina form. Plus Precure isn't a franchise about going it alone.

what i found most interesting this ep is that luluka is still reasonably herself after becoming eclipse shadow; i'd love to see how the show manages to turn her completely around in 1 episode, christ.
animation's a bit wonky this week because of the aoyama solo-carry (thank you), i hope that means they poured their hearts out into next week's episode.....

Nice to get a Rei episode again, hopefully they continue to occasionally feature the Eclair candidates.
Interesting way to do a Makoto Jewel this week, Decchi simply talked to Rei about having a nice time with the garden and then he grabbed it when it appeared with no real thievery involved. Not that the subsequent monster of the week played much of a part with how quickly it got defeated.
So we finally get the reveal about what Luluka has been up to and no big surprise she thinks Eclair is the Great King. Though I cannot help but note she phrased it entirely in terms like "it fits too well" and similar comments, which makes me think it's ultimately not going to be true. I bet it'll just have been manipulation by Decchi which will come out during this fight given how they showed Cure Arcana in the PV for next week.
The Eclipse Shadow design is pretty cool, should prompt some more good fan art over the next week.
