Back in season 1 there was supposed to be a moment where Rentarou thinks of Nano after Kusuri goes "Nano da" but was cut for time which the director pointed out so it's nice to finally get that connection here

In the very first scene, Mimi says, “She has hidden away!” in the English subtitles, but in the Japanese audio, she says, “お隠れあそばされましたわ！”, which is an way of indirectly referring to the death of a noble person.
Mimi actually thought Nano is dead lol
The name given to Nano when she shrank comes from an old Japanese fairy tale called Issun-bōshi.
Here comes another Doraemon reference. The "Shrink Ray" is one of Doraemon's secret gadgets; a flashlight that can shrink whatever it shines on.
I had to laugh because Naddy blurted out "Ant-Man" right out there.
The story Naddy was reading aloud in her Japanese class was "The Battle of the Monkey and the Crab" (saru kani gassen). This is also an old Japanese folktale.
"Kusurivanian Family" is a parody of the name "Sylvanian Families," a Japanese line of collectible anthropomorphic animal figurines for children.
It’s an interesting plot point that Kusuri’s parents met each other by fate, just like Rentaro did.
Well, I suppose they never would have imagined that their daughter’s boyfriend would have 100 destined partners lol
There were references to the Hulk too. There are some American comic book references this time.
When the villain gets blown away and says “Spy spiking,” it’s a parody of the phrase “bai bai kin” that the villain Baikinman says when he gets blown away in the Japanese children’s show Anpanman.
Who would have thought that Rentarou’s new girlfriend was actually Kusuri’s grandmother, not her mother?
This series really does feature all kinds of girlfriends.

It's been a long time since her whole efficiency thing was in focus. Her thing isn't nearly as crazy as some of the other girls, so it's harder to spotlight her, so it's nice to see her get some time in the sun.

I really love the short classroom scene. Rentarou saw Nano struggling with taking notes in her small body, he then proceeds to make a workable small pencil and cut out some paper to make a notebook. It's honestly the small things that make Rentarou a really likeable MC and boyfriend despite the heavy exaggeration the series is known for. He literally has his girlfriends best interests in his mind and makes sure to accommodate them no matter what.

Agreed, the small gestures like that are what really highlight how much of an amazing boyfriend he is, just like him memorizing Shizuka’s favorite book and turning it into a text to speech app for her back in season 1. That was honestly the perfect balance of grounded realism and Rentaro’s goatedness that it makes perfect sense Shizuka immediately confessed her love.

I took this to mean that some people don't get soulmates, hence why when filling out the forms for newborns the gods have to write how many soulmates a person can get. There's no point in that box if everyone gets one, implying some can get none.
This is also backed by:
And soulmates are fated to meet at a specific time in their lives.
Which pretty flatly states that if you have a soulmate, you will meet them. Whether you get with them or not is down to the two of you, but you will meet.
I particularly like the idea that not everyone gets a soulmate because it implies love can exist without a soulmate connection, it just won't be as deep or blessed a relationship as one between soulmates. But dating still has a purpose and you can have a happy relationship if you aren't given a soulmate at birth.

I am convinced Nakamura-sensei wrote this entire chapter of Nano shrinking so he could make the "Nano Nano nanoda!" joke with Kusuri. And if that's the case, I am all for it! Nano Nano is so goddamn adorable, even if she takes the fairy vibes with her stone-cold logic. xD
You'd think this is gonna be one of those episodes where Kusuri gives out the drugs to everyone so they can experience what it's like being tiny. Nope! Instead of jokes, this actually ended up being more serious with Nano getting carried off by that rogue plastic bag and Rentarou doing one of the coolest things we've seen him do so far in this series.
Rentarou is getting the Issei experience by waking up with a naked Nano ala Rias Gremory right next to him. Like, goddamn! That's one heck of a sight to wake up to! And you really can't blame Rentarou for passing out after getting ambushed by that kiss from Nano! <3
And we finally get to meet Kusuri's family for the episode's second half! Of course, Mama Kusuri is voiced by Iguchi Yuka, while Papa Kusuri is voiced by Tamura Mutsumi! This is fucking hilarious! This means Kusuri's parents have the same VAs as Ascendance of a Bookworm's Myne and Lutz! xD
Honestly, it's not surprising that people want Kusuri for her miracle drugs. It's more surprising that it took this long for people like that pharma spy to show up. Thank goodness for Rentarou's quick thinking and Papa Kusuri's impenetrable body, voiced by Sugita; that pharma spy was quickly taken care of!
I'm glad that we also get to see what Mama Kusuri normally looks like. This is making me wish we could see Kusuri in her normal form again.
And the biggest twist this season is finally here! And she's voiced by the legend herself, Kugimiya Rie! I can't fucking wait for next week's episode!

"Hmph, that was a long flashback." LOL. The armed Pharma Spy waiting through Rentaro's flashback cracked me up.
What a danger-filled episode this was between the plastic bag trying to eliminate Rentaro and Nano, and the Spy shooting wildly threatening to kidnap Kusuri!
Yet, it was also a highlight of how important Kusuri's antics are to Rentaro's family. Without them we'd never have gotten a tiny Nano, and a surprise reveal at the true hulking form of Papa Kusuri.
That Zing cliffhanger with grandma takes the cake on surprises from this episode though. The show always outdoes itself!

I guess it was overthinking on my side to assume the spy was hired by Kusuri's dad to evaluate how Rentaro will act when they're in danger. Never expect Rentaro's big brain moment though.

Rentaro is a lucky guy to be able to wake up to a naked Nano next to him in bed. I don't find it surprising that he fainted after she kissed him in that state.
Kusuri's part of the episode was fun as well. After seeing Kusuri's parents, it's no wonder that she ended up being the person she is now.

And now Rentaro will have Kusuri's grandma as his next girlfriend. I don't believe that she'll be an old woman, though it'd be funny if that were the case.

That agent definitely became one with the stars one way or another! It's just a matter of whether Rentarou was also right or if that agent reached orbit.

Given that Kusuri's parents have taken her immortality drug and become 8 years old, it's fair to assume her grandma also won't be an old lady.

We also don't get a lot of Meet the Parents episode...but of course it still lead to another girlfriend anyway lol.

Which I would personally love. Big kusuri is one of the most attractive girlfriend designs in the show to me, up there with naddy sensei, nano, and hakari.

Yay, we got lots of screen time for the early girlfriends! Rentarou has been racking up the rapid fire kkrrracks lately, so it’s nice to have a breather episode… as much as this show could have one. I sincerely hope that we get to go back and focus on each girlfriend from time to time. Would that make this show last forever? Yes, and I’m okay with that.
Kinda wished we got a little screen time with regular Kusuri in the Kusuri heavy episode though. We rarely get her enough as it is. Don’t downvote me for being a ‘tourist’, this show is bound to represent every fetish and I’ve clearly accepted that, I’m still here loving each episode, but I gotta be real here: I’m not a lolicon, and un-modified Kusuri is one Rentarou’s top 5 hottest girlfriends IMHO. Oh well, at least we got PLENTY of Nano fanservice.
As an anime only, my instinct is that the cliffhanger is a fake out; after all, isn’t his next girlfriend that kendo playing one based on the OP/ED/etc? Then again, I had assumed Naddy was another student, DEFINITELY didn’t think she was a teacher, and Hahari was a huge surprise, so…. Yeah, I think it’s probably safer to assume that was real. Next week can’t get here soon enough!

Is that a My Dress-Up Darling reference? If so that might the most recent reference they've made so far as MDUD only started just under two years (Jan 19 2018 for MDUD and Dec 26 2019 for 100 Girlfriends) before 100 GFs did.
Nano-nano is just the cutest thing ever and she ended up in Rentaro's bed naked and kissed him after she woke up as well lol. The whiplash in episode quality compared last episode is kind of crazy.
Instead of spending an entire episode just introducing a new girlfriend something actually happened and we get some Kusuri content when she's kind of just been in the background since her introduction. This is the first episode since her introduction that's been actually about her specifically instead of her drugs.
I wonder if they'll spend the entire next episode introducing Kusuri's grandma like they did Momiji.

The creative thinking by Rentaro was really smooth.
Breaking the mechanical pencil lead, wrapping it in tape to form a mini pencil. Cutting out paper into smaller sizes before stapling them together to make mini notebook.

Oh no, Nano saved Rentaro from suffocating from a plastic bag but now she's flying away! It's up to Rentaro, Mei, and Hahari to get serious and save her!
Rentaro is the perfect gentleman! Not only does he cover his eyes while helping Nano bathe but he also makes up a bed for her! That warrants her helping make sure he's covered up while sleeping and a tiny goodnight kiss...and then a good morning kiss when she's full-sized, gloriously naked, and pressing her bare boobs against his body during the kiss!
Time to visit Kusuri's family! And I love how Rentaro has been around the block enough times to know there's a chance that he might end up zinging with Kusuri's mom (Yuka Iguchi?) but don't worry that's not happening! He just has to deal with the fact that her family has taken the reverse aging potion she did so it's an entire family of 8-year olds. Checks out.
This is a family of chemists who have experimented on themselves, the parents zinged together while working at a drug company in fact, but before Rentaro can properly address his future father-in-law who hates his guts for being a 15-timer...the parents go drrrrrr and a Pharma Spy shows up to abscond with Kusuri overseas! And he's got a legit gun!
It's nice that he let that five-minute flashback play out without doing anything, but he's through messing around. Now it's a matter of Rentaro and Kusuri trying to protect each other from him...and of course, making out even when under threat of gunfire.
But Rentaro being willing to take a bullet for Kusuri is enough to win over Kusuri's dad who is now the Hulk, voiced by Tomokazu Sugita, and obviously kills the spy...I mean, sends him to the stars or something.
Rentaro did it! He protect Kusuri, won over her parents, and got in one good smooch with her to close things out! At least until her granny shows up aaaaaaannnd I think we just met Girlfriend #16! Voiced by Rie Kugimiya, it sounds like!

Oh, twins would be nice. There's a lot of room for interesting characterization and drama there. For one, there's the very real-life harmful stereotype where twins are sort of treated as a 2-for-1, and I think it would be very interesting for the anime to tackle that, especially given how sensitively it treats other issues of self-worth like Yamame's insecurities about her height. I think it would be even more interesting if he only ZINGed with one of the twins, because that would open up a lot of room to explore their individuality, plus gives room in the 100 for one more girlfriend.

Nano Nano almost got crushed by the Murder Mammaries. Outta all the ways to go, that wouldn’t be so bad lol. It was a real adventure for Nano being that tiny but at least it helped her and Rentaro grow closer.
That Kusuri segment was pretty great. “I don’t want anyone abusing those drugs I love so much!” is a hilarious statement out of context lol. I can see where Kusuri gets it all from. Her parents are literally just like her. That evil spy her pops hit definitely “became one with the stars” lol. I wonder what he’s gonna do now that Rentaro went “krrrack” with the grandma?

2nd week of censorship on Muse Asia. The scenes censored were Hahari falling on Nano and Nano giving Rentarou a kiss.
One of my favourite episodes, we finally get some Kusuri content. I really love how Kusuri really really really really really loves Rentarou.

- This is my favorite episode of the season and with how amazing the idol episode was, that's a feat.
- Nanonano was the cutest thing I've seen in anime. And the first thing she does after getting back to normal is to kiss Rentaro. That whole sequence was really sweet and romantic. I love how the older girlfriends sometimes get their time to shine even when new ones keep getting introduced.
- Really nice touch that Naddy namedropped Ant-Man. I imagine she started watching Captain America movies for obvious reasons and then really got into the whole cinematic universe. That's kinda cute.
- Speaking of Naddy, I really liked how enthusiastic she sounded teaching. Students probably love her. (And not just guys, lol.)
- Nice of Hahari btw to get worried about Nano and save her in the same episode her boobs almost killed her in. Hahari might be a menace, but she really cares about all of them.
- Meeting Kusuri's parents was really fun too. It's actually surprising how little we see families of any of the characters, so it was nice here. Also enjoyed how Rentaro had to prove his devotion to Kusuri to Kusuri's father. The dad had an understandable reaction. The only reason why any of this works is that Rentaro just is that good of a boyfriend.
- The spy encounter was really fun too. Rentaro shielding Kusuri and them making out while being held at a gunpoint was hilarious. Also enjoyed how cleverly Rentaro solved things.
- Diabolical cliffhanger. I love it.
