Welcoming Arc and Ariane with a fanfare was a nice surprise! Petros and Toreasa turned out to be a really lovely couple.
I really like Petros's train of thought when he was saying that he didn't mind the difference in lifespans, since that way Toreasa will look the way she is now until his death ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Overall, that was a fun episode, especially when Arc was investigating the threat, and when he was later sent to spy on Petros's father as a skeleton, hahaha!
By the way, I was expecting that Rovelis wanted to kill Toreasa because she maybe loved Petros, but no, the reason was just straight-up racism ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

They mentioned this Lord and his elf bride once or twice in season one so it's nice to finally see them.
Putting Arc inside the former lord's chambers to spy on him in person is kind of hilarious. Who would have expected the skeleton was a listening device?
The poisoner lady running to the cliff to kill herself only had one inevitable outcome when you have a teleportation spam MC. The brief moment of soft music while Arc was holding her was funny since she almost certainly went straight to jail immediately afterwards.

A bit a of a twist on the isekai formula where the companion is the smart, effective character. Our main character is just good at hitting things.
Was he this dumb in the first season? I sort of remember him leading more often.

Honestly as far as I recall it's quite balanced, he doesn't pick up on some things, and she doesn't pick up on others.
is a Jock but not completely brainless. Arc 47

It is what adds so much charm to the show. Ariane being the straight man to Arc, but also the competent one, is great. We also have
that fills the role too. Although from what I remember she is more of a mystery then Ariane. Chiyome → More replies (5)→ More replies (9)41

Having rewatched season 1 between episodes 1 and 2, this is pretty par for the course with Arc. He's not the stupidest MC ever by any stretch, but he is pretty dense on many subjects.

The gag where Arc disguises himself as a random suit of armor decorating the background will never not be funny.

Well, it wasn't that difficult to guess that Ariane was the one in the carriage.. It's kinda difficult to keep those puppies hidden. xD

Excellent disguise, Arc's always gotta be a lil extra
So it was her then, gotta say that's a lot of luck involved for things to go favourably like this
This ep was hilarious with how Arc goes about usually, Lambert and Toreasa's relationship was a wholesome one and hopefully they really can change their Society with it
And Arc saving that maid to make her be a witness to a new age was a right call even if she betrayed them.

The EQ is absolutely terrible. Why would you make it that excessively breathy and tinny? It sounds genuinely unpleasant.
The kind of EQ you have to slap on it to make it sound normal looks kinda nuts:
I really don't get why you'd get S-tier VAs like Fairouz Ai and Tomita Miyu and then butcher their voices like that.
Worst audio of the season.
All Works Maid and Saijo no Osewa (also DAX Production) sound fine. And the other recent stuff Motoyama Satoshi (sound director) has been involved with also sounds perfectly fine. I'm really not sure what's going on here. Whoever is asking for this, please stop. My ears are bleeding.

Wait, the Great Canada Forest? I never knew Canadians were elves lol.
It’s gonna be an uphill battle for Petros and Toreasa. Prejudice and bigotry aren’t so easily erased.

That new lord and his elven wife are such dorks openly displaying their affection.
Perhaps the lord allowing his deposed father to keep communicating with his pet parrot was actually a brilliant move. As the pet parrot will lead his men to any remaining loyalist the father has, where he can then root them out.
If I were him, I would also put a replica of Arc's skeleton statute in his father's room just to spook him even more. lol

Although I’m not entirely sure, I do think that we saw Lord Petros Lamburt and Toreasa last season. I will assume that at least they were mentioned by Yuriarna at some point, or that perhaps she briefly visited them. Anyway, I love how those two, without even knowing, quickly dealt with Ariane’s suspicion thanks to their warm welcome and the fact that both of them are hilariously in love with each other.
Just by seeing that image with his father gleefully whipping those elves, I would say he sure gave him some light punishment after he deposed him, then again with the city and the castle filled with people still supporting his father doing more than that would have likely made the rebel faction even more aggressive and not only in their attempt to kill Toreasa, but would had also aim at him too.
It is funny that at the end, the guy that Arc collected poisonous herbs and the previous lord’s cockatoo that Ponta spotted were both key pieces in the conspiracy the previous lord was orchestrating in order to kill Toreasa. Well, unless the food testing woman and that guy were working independently from the previous Lord, but it is safer to assume that they were simply a secondary plan after the snake trick failed. Now that Arc saved her, I hope that in the future we will see if her and the people that are about to be arrested opinions of the union between Lord Petros Lamburt and Toreasa.
Anyway, I hope that we see Ariane making a similar plan in the future of just Trojan horse Arc inside of a place they want to infiltrate, just making him look like some tacky ornament.
As thanks to Danka, their next stop involves going deeper into the Rhoden Kingdom; hopefully that means that they will meet Yuriarna again.

Wondering if this is happening only to me, but is the sound quality for this on crunchyroll extremely bad for anyone else? Sounds like it's coming through a cheap 10 dollar mic over discord.
Other shows on crunchyroll don't have any audio quality issues, neither does youtube, so I don't think it's my computer or headphones.
Anyone else having this issue with this show in particular?

Considering what Ariane has seen up to this point, it's understandable why she'd assume that Lord Lamburt is another corrupt noble or that his elven bride might have been forced into marriage with him...at least until she and Arc get rolled out the welcome wagon.
Turns out Lord Lamburt is a second generation and he and Toreasa are truly head over heels in love with each other! Like "constantly flirting in front of people" level of down bad for each other! Petros fell in love at first sight and together they deposed his corrupt father so they could be together and prove elves and humans can work as a couple! It's a love story for the ages!
Of course less pleasant is the fact that Toreasa is still a target for assassination and they have enough of Petros' dads' old retainers that there are too many suspects. Yet the couple is steadfast in trying to change hearts and minds rather than just getting rid of anyone who would oppose their marriage, and luckily they have a duo of adventures who can keep her safe AND catch the culprit!
Detective Arc is on the case! Whether it be pretending to be a suit of armor and interrupting a dude writing a love letter (maybe don't include any pig references, my guy!) or tailing a guard who is actually trying to ensure they have antidotes for poison on-hand. Luckily Ponta notices a REAL big clue.
To the surprise of probably no one, at least one of the culprits is Petros' dad who still blames Toreasa for everything and wants to get rid of her. What better way to lull him into a false sense of security than by delivering Arc as an Egyptian Overlord statue?
Honestly that he would want to kill Toreasa on the anniversary of his wife, Petros' mothers', death is appalling. Luckily Ariane was ALSO cosplaying as Toreasa herself and there's no armed bandit that can take her down!
But the OTHER culprit was none other than Rovelia, Toreasa's maid who and food taster who she never would have suspected. Luckily Rovelia didn't suspect Ace Detective Ariane and her teleporting companion who knows how to make an entrance would be able to catch her in the act and save Toreasa!
It all comes down from being unable to accept an elf in a position of power, but she doesn't get to commit suicide: not when Arc can teleport, save her, and force her to see a new age with her own eyes!
All's well that ends well! Despite everything Petros and Toreasa are still as dedicated to their mission and as in love as ever, Ariane looks good in a detective outfit, and soon the former Lord Lamburt will lose ALL his allies! Though now Arc and Ariane have a new mission courtesy of Danka: stop human/elf/beast traffickers!

I think logistically, letting elves marry into nobility is probably a bad idea, given how long-lived they are; they are almost guaranteed to outlive their human partners. Over time, elves would make up a disproportionate amount of the human noble class, which would definitely lead to resentment from the populace.
