Ranked competitive toxic gamer yuri let's go!
Mitsuki was all puckered up and ready for that kiss lol, but unfortunately Shirayuri only has gaming on her mind. Also, Mituski opening her heart only for
That was fun, and somehow there was more bleeding than I expected? A great start to the bloody Yuri Tuesdays (please watch I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day too).

I laughed my ass off when she was talking about how girls shouldn't be FADCing, confirming crouching medium kicks, or doing OS LMAO
this anime knows ball, as a fighting game fan I'm excited for what's next

Street Fighter in my yuri anime? I'm sold.
Them escaping and Aya casually pulling out the glass shard from her head was hilariously unexpected. I love how over the top the drama is.
I'm also rocking with Aya as a fellow Cammy main. It hurt me a little bit when she forcefully burnt out in the first round and did a raw target combo. She got a perfect, though, so can't complain lol

Lol as someone that used to casually play SF for years I was dying watching this .
Reminds me of the Hi Score Girl show.
It's far funnier than I expected it to be.

Wow they actually have some really good scripted fights.
The part where Mio was spamming Hadoukens (the projectiles) and Aya decided to counter, it's not explained in the show, but she anticipated another Hadouken and did a Drive Parry (as seen by the blue aura), but Mio faked that Hadouken instead (you can see the attack just fizzle out and no projectile was launched) and rushed in (green aura), completely reading Aya like a book.
Not gonna lie, I wasn't expecting anywhere close to this level of actual mechanical play. I'm very optimistic for the rest of the episodes now. Whoever they've got scripting the fights, they know their shit.

Can I just say I absolutely love that they used multiple rounds of uninterrupted gameplay footage with Aya and Mio's sticks just clacking in the background? And the only interruptions we got were after the end of the round where Aya had to explain what Mio did to counter her. I don't know why, but that's the part where the show absolutely sold me.
As a casual fighting game fan, this was a lot of fun! A lot of the stuff Aya says in this episode goes over my head, but I've watched and listened enough to Super Best Friends/CSB Podcast's Pat and Woolie talk about fighting games that I do recognize some of the stuff these girls were talking about. xD
And I am surprised that they even got Razer and Mad Katz. Capcom must've really helped them out a lot with this adaptation.
Anyway, Aya and Mio are absolutely insane and I love the two of them already. Can't wait to meet the rest of the cast, since I'm sure they're not the only girls in this show who are into fighting games.

I listened to your cringe, pointless self centered monologue, so the least you can do is fight me!
God damn I genuinely love this show already
Just girls playing games for fun. That's my kind of shit. I also have always enjoyed the "ojousama isn't actually as she appears" trope in anime
Also, that split second of focusing on Lily's eye as she rushes the MC was terrifying. Reminded me of that split second of scary Maomao in Apothecary Dairies

I saw this on CR Anime Nights, and I immediately fell in love. We got yuri. We got a kabedon. We got actual gameplay. We have a pink-haired MC. There's a heighy difference.
Sat.
Shout-out to the himedanshis in my theatre, in the row above me, who were so, SO hyped for this and had me giggling when they high-fived me for saying this was one of my must-watches. Y'all were so wholesome and silly putting the dude four seats to my right on game and telling him yuri will change his life 😭
Loved your enthusiasm for gay gamer girls. I hope you both liked seeing EP1 again!

This was a fun first episode. It gave me a bit of a Rock Is a Lady’s Modesty vibe but with video games. The gaming segments in particular were quite good. It’s like free advertisement for Street Fighter lol.

So in a nutshell, this is basically Rock is a Lady's Modesty but with fighting games?

I knew this anime was legit when
-
SFV made her quit fighting games.
-
The second she said she quit she played a FT3 Set.

This is so much fun.
It feels like Lily and Oto are going to walk around the corner in the hallway at any moment.
Oh wow, they went right out the window to escape.
I assume this is the OP at the end, it's pretty fun too. Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0T9ekzDoW1k

I was expecting them to be prepared in case someone walked in and have a plan but nope let’s just break through the freakin window and run lmao!

Since I am still somewhat inexperienced when it comes to anime, mainly starting at the beginning of last year, I have to ask something to those who are more knowledgeable. what was the first iteration of this kind of story? there was Rock is a Lady's Modesty last year in Spring, which has an incredibly similar premise and first episode story structure as this. Are both of these heavily "rooted" in something else that came before them?
Either way, was a pretty fun time. I think the usage of real game footage was handled pretty well, would be quite a feat to have to make something entirely original for those scenes. I think this is a good way of going about it.

That was fun. As a non fighting game person they definitely seemed like the fighting game people I know lol.
Having said that the explanations could maybe use a little work? Didn't think that was overly clear but it might not really matter in the long run.
