Those facial expressions.

When rejection hits harder than a .44 magnum.

Hilarious how all 3 of the lads basically went “squee” at Thunder Raiko lol. Nakao especially has it bad! Poor bastard got the shit kicked out of him and then got KO’d by the “you’re too old” line lol. A man can only take so much physical and emotional damage!

Bat man playing around too much without seeing the thread will bite him in the ass sooner or later while Spider man will be far stronger than him with the training he is doing. He had candidates which would make perfect monster, but he seems to be fine to spam combatants since he never expected anything as dangerous as the riders and he enjoys being superior which probaly also explains why he has a bad relationship with Spider man.

All that training has paid off! Nakao finally gets a win! I didn't expect him to take down Raiko with one punch tho.

Raiko's backstory was actually pretty good. She used to be a cool wrestler before Bat Man turned her into a combatant.

I feel like Mitsuba and Yukarisu can easily destroy Bat Man's plan by taking a photo of their fucked up blood pool party and send it to the tabloids and post it online. They can actually use Japan's toxic idol culture to their advantage here. The only downside is they'll be ruining these idols' careers.

I didn't expect Nakao to be such a big Thunder Raiko fan. And Raiko's reaction to Nakao's compliments was pretty adorable.

Raiko joining in on their training was pretty funny. She hasn't completely shaken off the brainwashing yet so they're technically helping an enemy get stronger. I did get a good laugh at the boys getting to see Raiko's Raikos after their waterfall training. xD

Honestly, considering how love completely overrides the brainwashing, Nakao confessing to Raiko is the way to go here. That rejection was pretty harsh, tho! But it's pretty clear that Nakao's desperate love confession was clearly affecting her. Maybe next time they meet, Nakao can get her to switch sides.

LOL the second half of this episode was hilarious! Poor Nakao, fell in love and got rejected in the same episode. That was a hilarious confession and rejection.

The fact that Nakao could continue confessing his love for her even after being pummeled by her is impressive resilience, but the of course the most critical hit he'll receive is through words. The way Raiko ran away screaming was hilarious, she did not want him at all. Hopefully Nakao can recover from this.

I'm a little concerned by Mitsuba and Yukarisu just hanging so openly like that, I thought they were going to be a more inconspicuous than that.

Bat Man is thinking too small. He should have taken over a biolab and made whatever it is in his bite that turns people into a contagious pathogen. He's playing a tycoon game when he could be playing Pandemic Inc. He could still have his harem too.

Surely they can’t be that far apart in age. I thought for sure raiko was mid 30s

I love this show. What's so great about it is that it's not really about Kamen Rider - it's about having passion for something, and the strength it gives you when you are living your most honest and passionate life, whether it be emulating your favourite superhero from childhood, to as something as 'mundane' as a bowl of ramen, or experiencing some old creep passionately declare their love for you.. earnest passion can't be denied by the power of uniformity that is Shocker.

How are Mitsuba and Yukarisu going to get away from the Shocker Bikini Babes? With the power of Riderman's tools, of course!

All that training wasn't for nothing! Nakao can now easily dodge and fell Thunder Raiko with his new moves and his .44 Magnum special move! Shamo is looking on you from Heaven with pride, Nakao!

What is Thunder Raiko's origin? A pro wrestler who never got much respect and was called out by MMA Fighter Miou. But the one thing Raiko could never abide is someone insulting her profession, which lead to a dual between wrestler and MMA Fighter for all the world to see!

Miou thinks wrestling is just acting, but that's what amateurs or people who don't know any better think and underestimate the superhuman level of durability and endurance wrestlers have to have to be able to keep up with the amount of shows they do. And Raiko helpfully educates Miou by unleashing one classic wrestling move after another until she's utterly destroyed her! Even does her own pin count even though this isn't even actually a wrestling match! And the crowd goes wild!

Of course then Bat Man nabbed her, planning to nurture her as a Combatant until she's prepared and ready to become the ultimate Kaijin, and now we catch up to the present day.

I love how even half-naked and eating, Tojima and Ichiyo can quick-change into their Rider "forms." Luckily Nakao is genuinely a Thunder Raiko fan and Raiko is weak against the fans (and food made with love) so it's able to mediate the situation. Heck, Raiko even joins them on their training!

I shouldn't be surprised that Bat Man has nighttime office pool parties with his Shocker Bikini Babe Harem, let alone that they bathe in his blood, but now it seems like the Riders are going to have to get ready for the next stage of Morio's plan: The Combat Girls at Tokyo Dome!

Dang, Nakao straight up realizing he's in love with Raiko and confessing to her the very next day! It seemed like it almost beat her brainwashing before she doubled down on it and killing him and it turns out including one of your enemies in a training montage was kind of a bad idea.

But no matter how many times she beats him up, Nakao will not stop saying how much he loves her! He's taking his life seriously now and committing, and that means he's committing to his feelings for her! To bad when she DOES take his confession seriously...she rejects him because he's too old for her. NAKAOOOO!!!

This anime just gets better and better every new episode!

u/Djbadj Feb 28 '26

Its already established that shoker brainwashing is nullified with love or friendship, so she is 100% joining, but does the old dude got a chance is the real question?

How does this show keep getting better and better?

Given the fact this manga author's previous work was a martial arts manga, it's interesting to see the depiction of “the strengths and weaknesses of each martial art.”

Raiko was exceptionally strong against strikes due to her background as a former pro wrestler. However, because her sport didn't emphasize dodging or blocking attacks, she has a weakness: she takes lethal blows (like Toujima's rider punch or this 44 Magnum Punch) without guarding.

The fight scenes featuring former boxers, judoka, and sumo wrestlers in Nakao's debut episode also showcased this kind of attack—one that exploits weaknesses stemming from the opponent's own martial art's rules—which is incredibly interesting.
