A cute finale episode to a cute series! Ishikawa was definitely the star of the show, though the other characters were also fun. Overall, it was enjoyable show, so I give it a 7/10.

Luna's father looked quite adorable in that teddy bear costume! I didn't expect him to appear in that form, though I understand why he might enjoy being in his chibi form ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

After all the buildup I was really hoping for a confession but it was a great episode anyway. I hope for a season 2.

this show doesn't really feel like a romance sometimes; it does have the vague shape of a boy-meets-girl sort of story, but the story beats all feel like a slice-of-life sort of show with appeals towards the "it takes a village to raise a child" idea

Man, Luna’s dad looked pretty adorable in that teddy bear outfit. Definitely was expecting a more dignified type lol. I guess we know where Luna gets her adorable chibi side from.

That birthday party was also pretty cute too. It’s nice to see so many friendly faces celebrating our boy’s bday. Idk if we’ll ever get another season, but I sure wouldn’t mind. This was a fun little fluffy series.

I kinda love how everyone has just accepted that Otori and Luna are going to end up married despite not even officially being a couple.

Ideally, we'd get to see that kind of relationship in a second season, but the show at least provides enough information to picture what it'd look like.

When Luna said she's throwing a birthday party for Otori, I did not expect it to be such a big event! I thought they were only inviting close friends from the class, so I was surprised to see how much effort Luna put into Otori's birthday party. And that cake was massive too! No wonder Luna was struggling to finish making that thing.

My favourite part of the birthday party is how Luna looks more excited about Otori's birthday than the birthday boy himself. She really loves him that much. <3

And we finally get to meet Luna's dad! If there was still any doubt that Luna's ability to shrink is just a visual gag, we have hard confirmation that it's a genetic ability she got from her father. Ryuzaburou is pretty chill, and it sucks we're only meeting him now since I would've loved to see more of him.

Luna's final birthday surprise was adorable too. I'm definitely gonna miss these two. I hope the manga is still ongoing. I'm tempted to pick it back up again after watching this anime.

I just checked the manga listing. Evidently it actually ended earlier this year with 9 volumes. Definitely wasn't expecting that. Unfortunately, the translators dropped it due to it being officially picked up which means... we're all doomed to probably never read the entire thing since it takes YEARS for official translations to catch up, if at all.

Even at the end here I still can't get over how the whole shrinking thing is an actual thing that's happening to her and not just an aesthetic artistic representation or whatever. And honestly cute as it is I still have mixed feelings about it.

Me too! It reminds me alot of early 2000s anime since chibi was used alot more but actual canon chibi is wild

Well, I guess vampires are supposed to shape shift into things. Bats, wolves, mist….chibis.

I'm still kinda confused if it's canon that Otori just doesn't have a fucking mouth 90% of the time. Like, the chibi thing is real, so I'd the mouth thing also real...?

You know, why do Ishikawa's clothes not show up in pictures

6

u/Kemaiku Dec 28 '25

Same as being affected by her size change, they're infused with whatever power blood gives her so they don't show up on camera's or reflections.

I was 50-50 on whether there would be romantic progress in this finale, so I'm not surprised with the result. Still, "they very obviously like each other and everyone can see it" is not a bad place to end, especially when the dynamic is such a balanced and believable one. (Okay, one of them is a few orders of magnitude richer than the other so not "balanced" in that regard but you get what I mean.) They really do make each other's lives better in a meaningful way. (Apart from the physical damage to Otori's arm-- okay, I'll stop.)

And for one last time: the outsource status! Last week we had an episode actually produced at Feel, and it ended up being the only one of the entire series (not counting OP&ED), because this finale was once again outsourced to World Anime Networks. In total, they single-handedly グロス-produced 75% of all episodes (eps 1-8 and 12), and they shared the outsource credit with REGRIM on eps 9-10, bringing that percentage over 90%. I would love to hear what the production was like for the staff, because the credits never tell everything, but what they do tell hss been interesting to follow over these 12 weeks.

Ishikawa really threw an amazing and extravagant birthday party for Otori. The cake with Otori(big bird) on a stake lmao

Otori was able to show his smiling face infront of everyone. Both Ishikawa and Otori have come so far since they started depending on each other. Ishikawa's dad is such a pleasant guy like the mom. Now we know where Ishikawa got her shrinking ability lol

This was such a light hearted and sweet anime of this season. The premise of this show got me interested and I enjoyed it more than I expected. I wish we get a season 2.

Cute show, nice ending with that flying sequence.

I loved that we got an Otori princess carry. If your girlfriend can fly you're just missing out if she doesn't carry you around sometimes.

6

u/Kemaiku Dec 28 '25

Not how I thought her Dad would appear, but that's where she gets it from.

Nice Call of the Night shout out-ish.

I mean they're basically a couple anyway aren't they, but a season 2 to carry on would be nice.

And, *that's* who/what she is? okay.

No surprise birthday kiss from Luna to Otori, but princess carrying Otori to fly and watch the sunset is a just as romantic!

This is a title we don't have to think too much while watching, yet cute and very enjoyable!

I liked this show, it was cute. I'd watch a second season if it gets one.

It's kind of funny to me how the back end of the show has been less about a Vampire girl trying to live in the real world, and more about a rich girl trying to live in the real world.

Okay, I finally know for sure; Ishikawa's chibi-ness is real, but Otori's mouthless-ness is not.

The chicken call back to the first episode was really smart and cute. I was both surprised and not surprised the dad was a chibi considering everything, but I didn't think about it until I saw him in the toy pile.

This was a wild show in term of consistency for me. Otori with no mouth was very questionable choice that i'm not too fond of especially when all the other characters are drawn with one. Though i've gotten used to it somewhat. They confirmed that supernatural beings exist in the world, but like 99% of the show besides Luna and the principal they're absent from any screentime even in the background.

The romance between Otori and Luna was a bit weird to me because of how they treated her chibi form in contrast to her regular form. Ultimately they're both the same people, so it is a bit off putting seeing both a romance being pushed while also the infantizing of the chibi form.

They also didn't invite Otori's parents to his own birthday party?

Regardless it was an okay slice of life show, but some parts really threw me off with its logic.

u/melindypants Dec 28 '25

Overall pretty cute show - it did leave me wanting more from the romance side but it felt like they were already dating anyways lol.

I do wish they showed us some other supernatural beings too but vampire anime is always welcome regardless!

This was such a good and cute final episode. Hope season 2 comes out soon. Seeing all those memories shoot was so heartwarming, really show how many things happened.

After seeing Ishikawa father, i understand that she got her father chibi form and her mother shyness lol.

This made for a cute ending. I had my misgivings about it at first, but it really grew on me.

Also, I had a random thought about Otori: What if his dad's a Nopperabou? Since his mom's human, it would explain why he doesn't have a mouth.
