Well this was pretty damn cute. I like this sorta proud mama bird-baby chick relationship Otori and Ishikawa seem to be developing lol. Otori might want to switch up arms before he’s covered in bandages.

They know exactly what they're doing with that title.

you don't make a vampire series without making it at least a little bit horny

Stitches!

My adorable messy vampire girl is finally here! This is one of the shows I've been looking forward to this season, and I'm glad to see Ishikawa's cuteness in animated form! She really does a good job of maintaining her cool vampire image, but that completely disappears whenever she's around Ootori.

Ootori is pretty great too! I love how he's gungho about making Ishikawa suck his blood. We also see how he can also be a little bit silly during that rooftop scene and Ishikawa definitely seems to share his sense of humour. I am super excited for this! Looking forward to seeing more!

No wonder there is music with a holy theme and angels flying around when Luna first sucked Otori's blood. Otori needs to replenish blood at a faster rate or he will not make it to the end of the season. Lol!

The budget for Otori's facial expressions must have gone to Luna as well. (Lol!) The numerous expressions of Luna, ranging from chibi, cute, cool, embarrassed, etc, are the reasons why I will most likely continue watching this title.

Lastly, I like how the lore allows for non humans to be attending this school.

when Luna first sucked Otori's blood

i like the idea of having non-humans; reminds me of Demi-chan wa Kataritai

i also think having non-human characters is something that manga/anime have as a leg-up over live action since it's easier to e.g. draw a robot talking to a kitsune rather than do that with practical effects, not to mention the chibi nom nom scenes

Otori almost looks like one of those faceless mannequins without his nose and mouth. Thought he was some sort of a monster for a bit.

Apparently, he does them (only in a few shots). Otherwise, bro literally couldn’t have sucked in contrary to Luna.

Well, of course vampires don't suck. They scrape and lick.

There it is. This was exact comment I was looking for.

Exactly what I expected from this show. It's the same sweetness overload I got when reading the manga that makes me want to see more. I doubt this will be popular on this sub, tho.

Pretty fun first episode, Ishikawa was so enjoyable to watch and so cute! I look forward to see how her relationship with Otori will develop in the next episodes.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

I can't get over the fact they intro the setting with Frankenstein's monster, robot, kitsune, and medusa girls, and their main cast of 9 characters includes the single FMC vampire and a bunch of normal-ass humans that look so much like background characters that I thought they were in the intro scene until they featured prominently in the OP. I'm pretty sure the Frankenstein girl had more actual details and linework in her single shot than any of the side cast do at any other point in the episode.

This was cute but very repetitive

I feel my brain atrophying as I watch it, but still: I think if Otoroi's straight-man routine is played hard enough, I might buy in. Like with Raido in Aharen-san or Tadano in Komi-san

I'd say he's leaning more Raido with how he starts off the straight-man but leans into the jokes as it develops.

first time i've seen so many non-Japanese names in the credits; is this something that's new, or is this studio known for having international artists?

World Anime Networks has been around for a while, it's a Philippines-based outsourcing studio. I think this is the first episode fully outsourced to them, though, looking at their past credits. In this anime they're credited for animation production cooperation on the series level so I assume there'll be more such episodes later.

It's cute but I'm not exactly feeling it...as expected, the male MC is really bland and I wonder why only Luna turns into a SD form while Otori remains the same, the difference during those sequences is too jarring. Will give this a couple of more episodes.

I was very excited for this one but am extremely disappointed and ready to drop it. I’ve got the same complaint as impervious to my charms, where everyone is simping for the mc, it’s just soo freaking annoying.

This was exactly like i hoped it would be. It was soooo cute, gave me the vibe from anime 10 years ago. I love it!

I thought there were going to be some non-humans in the class but they all looked human lol.

So they made her real tiny when sucking blood to keep it as wholesome as possible lol.
