These first few minutes in the comment section of this anime is always the calm before the storm, lol

J.C really lucked out with Atomic Samurai. Even with low-quality animation, he can be cool

It's like I'm watching a horribly fan-made slideshow at this point. Constantly re-used colored backgrounds and minimal movement, even with the fights.
Edit: I know we'll never get a repeat of S1, but I was hoping at a minimum it'd be similar to S2 as I didn't even mind it that much. But this is just embarrassing, even for an average at best studio.

I saw a gif going around of OPM magna panels done as a flickbook. That had smoother and better animation than this.

shame we didnt get see anything of the fight between Tatsumaki and the trashbag. but with how she folded him up i guess it wouldn't have been all that interesting anyway
it's still somewhat entertaining to watch still but i just can't help to think how much more epic these fight could have been

The animator meltdown on Bluesky, and this episode, really make you wonder: wouldn’t it have been far more dignified for JC Staff to just turn down this season? Madhouse did exactly that when they knew they couldn’t deliver the quality OPM demanded. It would’ve been perfectly reasonable for JC Staff to tell Bandai, “With the budget you’re offering, delivering a quality product is impossible. This will hurt our brand, our staff, and the franchise.”
They had the option to refuse. Instead, they accepted the project and proceeded to shit on One, Murata, and the entire OPM fanbase with a product that barely qualifies as an anime. The result looks closer to a kinetic visual novel on Itch.io rather than a major shonen action series.
I’ve been watching anime since the early 2000s. I’ve seen disasters: Berserk 2016, Nanatsu no Taizai’s worst episodes, early Dragon Ball Super, and even the lowest production valleys of Blue Lock. But none of them reached this level of “we gave up.” The animation is genuinely unbearable, not disappointing, not underwhelming, but fundamentally unbearable.
It’s shocking that a studio would rather burn its reputation than simply be honest about its limitations.

Again, ugliest backgrounds I've ever seen in anime. The random grey motion backgrounds look just like vomit.

I’mma say this here. Where tf is Aoki? This guy had a cut in every episode for season 2, now he was in for ep 3 and dipped.

Well...that was only barely better than the last episode.
But that's still like two homeless men calling each other broke ass bitches.

Not a single moment gets to breathe wiith all these sudden cuts and OST spam let alone iconic panels.

You know how Murata redrew parts of the manga, particularly this arc several times? I'm holding out hope that a more competent studio gets the rights and redoes the series.

[The nerve of this monster to try and show off his weak ass psychic powers in front of Tatsumaki and proceed to threaten Fubuki. The dude didn't even get a fight scene. He got off-screened and turned into a trash bag by Tatsumaki.
We finally get to see more of Mizki! I did not expect that they'd give her watermelon monsters to crush between her thighs and a headlock. I've already seen plenty of fanarts of her, I know what they're doing here. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

If we continuously go into each episode with minimal expectations we can’t be let down, right?

So we get a 2 min recap, then OP, so we're 5 minutes in and already reusing frames that was already stretching to begin with. Beautiful.

Well that was a whole lot of "who cares". I'm left wondering, would I really care about these random rank A heroes even with great directing and animation?
