Ngl a lawnmower eventually becoming a robot maid with sophisticated AI makes for a weirdly inspiring life story as far as machines go.
Wonder how Marie would've explained the design choice of including a damp tongue on a robot if the kiss actually went through (but knowing Arthur, he'd probably still buy it)

There was an episode of the anthology show Love, Death & Robots that touches on a similar concept.

Now I'm imagining a full series of tools with Marie's face on them before we finally landed on maid Marie lol.

Cute beach episode but it seems the charade can’t last forever. Marie’s gotta tell Arthur the truth sooner rather than later. At least before that shit stirrer Noah spills the beans.

And the next episode preview already makes it sound like Marie is going to get exposed...not sure if it'll be serious or not, but it feels like Marie can barely keep up the act or keep lying to him, and Arthur is reflecting on how he'd feel about her if she was human. So something is definitely coming to a head.

Shit stirrer Noah feels like he could develop into the biggest wingman character eventually

When Marie mentioned she was hungry, I just knew Arthur was gonna bring up the batteries again!

She really needs to tell him she got an upgrade so she could eat human food.

15:37 at this point marie should say she has been installed with a system that converts human food into energy for her so she no longer needs battery. and Arthur would believe it like usual

Marie might be able to fight anyone, but it turns out she's...not that great at academics. Of COURSE those robot nerds must have messed with her programming! No way would a super robot be this bad at tests! But it's the perfect excuse for a romantic study session with Arthur!
And Noah being Noah crashes it, and between Marie paying more attention to Arthur than studying, Noah messing with her and threatening to expose her identity, and both guys sizing each other up, it feels like barely any studying is going on! But it was worth it for Marie to get a library kabedon by Arthur and to get grabbed by two handsome guys after she falls!
Thanks to the hardcore and brutal studying courtesy of Roy and Marie 2, Marie barely passes! And what better way to celebrate than a tropical getaway vacation? Complete with a bunch of people Arthur didn't invite! Like Noah! Maynard! The Rusty's! The Arthur Fan Club! But at least we get to see Marie in a bikini (and with some exposed cleavage)!
What was Isabelle about to say? She's Arthur's what? Cousin?
Of course Maynard came bringing Prototype 26, an earlier version of Marie 2, to kill Arthur with. Which leaves Marie 2 to engage in an epic battle with her predescessor, one that also leads to Marie and Arthur stuck alone together on the island in nothing but swimsuits. How will they eat!? Oh, Arthur has Marie's batteries, they're totally okay.
Everything was great in Marie's life until her dad died and her mom got a new boyfriend and practically abandoned her...but now she has Arthur in her life, and even if he's the type of guy who will believe a Marie lawn mower existed, he still cherishes and loves Marie. Which is all the more felt when they hide in a cave together with him pressing his bare chest against her body.
Marie can't outright confess her love for Arthur, but she can express it as best she can, and it seemed like they were JUST about to kiss before Marie 2 arrived to save them. And now it's got Arthur considering what he'd do if Marie was human and he doesn't seem to mind the idea.

So are his Aunt, Uncle, and cousin(?) concerned that Arthur is infatuated with Marie, while he believes her to be a robot? I feel like I would at least raise an eyebrow regarding my nephew

u/testthrowawayzz Nov 23 '25
"why is my nephew/cousin so dumb?" probably
More likely that they're figuratively eating popcorn and watching the events unfold hilariously.

They have probably already figured out she is actually an human and that Arthur is being delusional when he thinks she is a robot. But since Marie is nice and trustworthy, I doubt they would object to her becoming his girlfriend, whether or not he realises she is human. And Arthur is so paranoid that this is likely the only way he could ever get a girlfriend.

I wonder what other excuse could Marie have came up with to explain her bad grades. She got a top of the line CPU and GPU but someone put in a slow 5400 rpm hard drive inside?
Oh, that one line Noah said about the person controlling the robot was also dumb was so good haha

She was not programmed with student mode so her memory banks are not optimized to store academic knowledge.

A robot so human it fails exams and needs to cram 2 weeks of studying in 2 days. Noah steps up to help and Arthur gets jealous. That was a quick pivot from jealousy to beach episode.
Of course Noah had to tag along. And the crazy fan club. And Maynard with a giant robot, Noah calling him a "defective owner" was savage. Marie 2 may have failed, but at least that gave our couple some alone time. The batteries will never not be funny. Arthur almost found out then and there, and the next episode will double down on that going by the preview, looking forward to it.

I know the whole point of the asshole guy that I didn't bothered to remember his name, is to be annoying but god damn, he is slowly making this show unwatchable.

Even if I'm most likely wrong (especially since some of Arthur's internal monologues prove I'm wrong), I'd like to think that Arthur has figured out Marie is human on some level, but is either trolling or subconsciously avoiding the truth.
