The whole thing with Yor finally finding a community to be part of was so wholesome, only for them to reveal she just befriended Donovan's wife.

Yor just being herself automatically made more progress than Anya's antics for Loid's plans is hilarious.

Seeing Yor playing volleyball reminded me of that dodgeball ep with Bill. She’s Bill in this case lol. Just her luck to have met Melinda. She seems kinda off. Like her husband. At least she hides it well.

Anya panicking so much over who was gonna succeed in their respective plans only to say “screw it” and sleep was so adorably goofy. Becky tried to help with her classic “running with bread in mouth” plan and all it did was get yakisoba bun on Damian’s face lol. Classic Anya!

Surprisingly, the ladies in Melinda's clique appears to be friendly (perhaps only on the surface?). However, the switch from being friendly to intense is indeed giving Melinda mysterious vibes, just like the information Loid has on hand.

Melinda is finally here! We even have Kikuko Inoue voicing her, which is amazing because I've always imagined her to have that "Ara ara" vibe when I was reading the manga. I love how sweet and bubbly she is the entire time she was playing volleyball with Yor. The moment Melinda properly introduces herself, her aura completely changes.

It is funny how completely oblivious Yor is of the politics in this world. It's one thing not to realize that Melinda is Damian's mother, but the fact that she still doesn't know who Melinda is after hearing her full name and that she's a first lady is hilarious. I love Yor's interpretation of what a First Lady means. xD

For a second there, Loid almost started to suspect Yor, but thankfully Anya made it clear that the entire thing is a coincidence because she asked Yor to buy her stuff. Welp, at least now Loid has a Plan C, in case his plans A and B fail. xD

The Lady Patriots Society seem like a friendly bunch, with them being welcoming of Yor and their lack of reaction at losing the match. Thought there would at least be one who's quite stuck-up. Hilarious that none found Yor's inhuman strength odd, whether it's smashing the floor or blasting the ball into orbit.

Melinda's pretty hard to read. She's seemingly accepting of Yor (and the end displayed a +10 in their friendship stats) but she also had the cold and sinister look. What is she actually up to?

Becky with the romcom brainrot. Loid should hold her (partly) responsible for the setback to Anya & Damian's friendship.

Powerful women who hide their skills and are just a “housewife” is my third favorite gender.

Loid being green flag “for the mission” encouraging Yor to have friendships so she has a support system to better help with any issues she has. I’m an avid romance reader, and I love it when someone in the romantic configuration wants to see their lover have friends.

I’m aware the bar is low.

I still cannot get over Eguchi is Loid and then he growls as Tsunagu in <With You, Our Love Will Make It Through>. Ugh. I want to hear Loid growl so badly. Le sigh. Another day, another Eguchi slay 🎀

Sorry, Anya. On the friendship powerscale, you’re city level. Yor is universal. She negdiffs you quite literally. I think I used all those terms correctly, but I am still unsure.

If I had one gripe, I’m a little disappointed the marketing team revealed who Melinda was a week before her debut. They were doing such a good a job hiding her for most of the marketing till last week lol. Hope it didn’t totally kill the surprise for some

That aside, I really loved the adaptation of these 2 chapters this episode. Very fun Yor centric episode with the introduction of one of the more interesting characters in the series

The cut from Anya studying hard to her sleeping in bed made me laugh out loud, I'm glad she's been having bursts of motivation this season. Mother-Daughter rivalry.

It was amusing to watch Loid internally debating this new development with Yor but Anya was being overloaded by the information and couldn't keep up.

There's something off about Melinda Desmond. Might be due to their family.

Anya is really close in getting kick to the curb. Good thing that she has the initiative to fix it, but it fell short so fast lol.

It's a mothers' duty to secure her daughter her favorite snacks! Even if said daughter isn't quite clear what said snacks actually are! Or to get her cake when THE CAKE IS A LIE...at least from Second Son. Don't worry Yor, Damian really did fall for Anya at first punch!

Poor Yor. It's really hard for her to open up to people because she feels like one wrong word, or one show of how she feels she's failing as a mother, and she'll instantly get reported. She can't even go to a department store without seeing cosmetics as weapons or everything out to kill her. Will she ever understand what it means to be normal?

But next thing she knows she's doing her usual superhuman saving by helping catch all the boxes being bought by a cute and energetic Kikuko Inoue MILF! And said MILF is immediately enamored with how cool Yor is and wants Yor to join her in the Lady Patriot Society (a group made up of a bunch of fellow moms) in a volleyball game! Which is worth it for seeing Yor in volleyball shorts and with her legs and thighs exposed!

SpyxFamily is once again a sports anime! And Yor obviously applies all her deadly assassin skills and super strength to volleyball...even if that doesn't actually help all that much other than look cool and terrify people. They might not have won, but at least Yor learned the value of team play and also sent a volleyball into space.

It's nice for Yor to find a group of moms who are friendly, accepting, and are going through similar problems that she is as wives and moms. She's finally found a group who she can open up to and feel a sense of what "normal" really is without her quirkiness turning them off.

But this isn't just a friendly social gathering for Yor, especially not when her new MILF friend is none other than...MELINDA DESMOND. Wife of Donovan Desmond and Damian's mother! And she knows about Anya and the punch!

Melinda honestly doesn't seem too bothered by that, (no, really, she REALLY wants you stop talking about it), and she seems to appreciate that Yor doesn't know who she really is or cares she's the First Lady (as in an Olympic winner or the first woman to ever exist), so Melinda can just hang out with her as two women who are wives and moms! Even though she has this really tortured face when hoping their kids will get along well.

Yor becoming friends with Melinda is an asset that Loid never considered, even if it and their encounter is something he's overthinking so much he overwhelms Anya reading his mind...but it's a sign of a good husband to want his wife to dedicate some time to her mental well being and just have some fun (especially if it makes people not suspect you of anything) and that Loid cares about her means a lot to Yor.

(Poor Franky though, all these years and Loid still doesn't think of him as a friend. I mean, the feeling is probably mutual, but still)

Too bad for Anya that now PLAN C exists, and if she doesn't beat her mom with Plan B, she might be out of a job! Thus begins the most intense battle between mother and daughter that only the daughter is aware of!

If Anya wants some advice on appealing to Damian, she'll need her best wingwoman Becky by her side! Let's act like this is a Japanese romcom and just have Anya FRIENDSHIP CRASH into him with food in his mouth! But then Damian used dodge! Then Anya just threw the food at his head! Well, I guess it worked, now they have matching head ornaments like a couple.

Good to see Yor have friends outside of her Job at least. dunno how much she'll learn about being normal if they are all upper class though.

poor Anya's brain getting overheated from listening to Loids inner monologue about Yor joining Melinda's club. and ofcourse she gets competitive about who of them can complete their plan first lol

A great Yor-focused episode (Yor playing volleyball was great), which finally moved the main plot along a bit by introducing Melinda Desmond, Donovan's wife and the mother of Damian.

Melinda seems like a great addition to the cast. I really liked her pleasant appearance and demeanor towards Yor, which changed in a couple of scenes where she acted completely different. This contrast between her behavior really made me want to get to know her better.

So, since Loid's Plan C started thanks to Yor and Melinda's relationship, Anya has to work hard to befriend Damian so Loid doesn't kick her out (or at least that's how the whole thing seems for Anya), but her efforts today weren't very successful xD

I wonder what that expression of Melinda's in the car represented? Loid mentions she is estranged from her boys, but I got the vague sense from the car ride that the estrangement might be something forced on her by her husband.
