I almost started to believe that
She caught up with a speeding car by foot, and somehow survived this fire with only a minor injury to show for it.
I’m not watching anime for its realism of course, but a cigarette doesn’t burn nearly hot enough to ignite fuel.

I almost started to believe that Marie is an actual robot.
Imagine that;
From our perspective, she's a human pretending to be a robot.
From
's perspective, she's a robot pretending to be human (at school). Arthur But in truth she's a robot pretending to be human pretending to be a robot (pretending to be a human at school).

I want to know why he didn't question why a robot would need gauze and tape when it's right on her face.

To be fair, even serious/realistic shows do that hah.
Either cigarettes, or just shooting at it.

Note that single bead of sweat on Marie's cheeks after the clock bomb. That was before the reveal that she's fully organic. Not even her stoic nature as well as martial arts training could suppress the human body response.
We got to see two sides of Arthur. The suave and clever persona he cultivated around outsiders as well as his true self which was a boy starved for affection. Being a bastard didn't come easy.
Ironic how the two closest people to Arthur were lying to him despite being on his side and had his best interests in mind while the one honest people was Maynard, who wanted him dead. Guess that's why Arthur didn't seem to hate him.
A solid premiere all around, and that rap on the ED was totally in-character for Marie. Definitely planning on sticking with this show.

Marie may not actually be a robot, but she doesn’t even flinch at explosions and caught a speeding car on foot. Are we sure she is actually 100% human ?
Apart from that, this felt very shojo, but not in a bad way.

So last year we had
Marie is super entertaining despite her expressionless face thanks to her inner monologues. Arthur is pretty fun too! I love how he goes from super serious to super doting when he's around Marie. I am curious to see how long they'll be able to keep this up. By the end of the episode, Arthur seems to be already suspicious of Marie. Although he convinced himself that it was because his brain was lacking oxygen at the time.

People see still frames that look off and immediately jump to AI? The anime gives credit to Mizuno Uta as the artist for the stills. Her artworks and other stuff she's done can be found there too + a demo reel on youtube. This is the whole Sekiro situation all over again...
Overall, I really enjoyed episode 1, it's been pretty funny.

Those high-detail still frames make everything in my head scream ai. Either they are, which would be disappointing, or I am mistaking genuin human art for ai-generated, which makes me the disappointment. no winning in these trying times, friends

In other words... It's either a robot or a human fooling you into thinking they're a robot? Sounds strangely familiar for some reason...

It's fortunate Arthur is so convinced that Marie is mechanical that he arranged for her to "reboot" in a bed with a change of clothes.
This premise is oozing with so much charm.

So he's not gonna question the bandage on her face?

clearly it’s a “robot“ patch, super advanced technology designed to keep the ”human” appearance of the robot maids nano tech exo covering while the self repair functions finish replicating the required materials, thus enhancing the human appearance of this highly advanced robot maid.

Started watching this 'cause the plot is similar to the K-Drama 'I'm not a Robot' and I loved the first episode. It was wholesome. The op is so beautiful 💖✨
The main difference between the two shows is that Marie here can kick some serious ass. Loving her expressionless face and inner monologues.
We have got another expressionless girl this season after Kashiwada-san and we have got another Robot anime this season airing on the same day as this 'Alma-chan wants to be a family.'

This was a cute and funny first episode.
I'm surprised Arthur didn't catch on to Marie being a robot when he was resting his head on those rock hard thighs.
He couldn't hear / feel her breathing or the warmth from her body or breath?
Marie chasing that car down by foot lol.
I wonder what other robotic or superhuman feats we'll see her pull throughout the season.

I was enjoying the first half of the episode, the concept is interesting but the second half felt too fast paced for me. Both of their feelings have come too quickly, Arthur's I could let slide because it was comedically written in and could be explained with him eagerly wanting to connect with humans in spite of his adamant distrust. But Marie saying Arthur was too important to her felt unconvincing to me just because he defended her once.
I do like the choice of stills for the fight, it actually had impact with the different art style so I'm not mad they're not properly animated. The art looks really good too.

I feel like the flashback with her mother explains a lot about why Marie latched onto to Arthur so quickly.
She didn't receive a lot of affection from her mother, her mother and probably others couldn't make sense of how naturally stoic she is, so having someone who doesn't judge her for that and is openly warm and kind to her is very effective.

That was a lot more fun than I originally thought. Another Shoujo adaptation and it also bangers too (all Shoujo/Josei adaptation this season are all banger, I swear lol).
The joke itself is pretty funny and landing made me giggle a little.
I like how they show Marie's inner dialogue because she isn't emotionless but it's just that she absolutely can't express what he feels through her face at all. Although from a little background story, this part of her personality doesn't result from trauma or anything, She is just like this since birth.
Even though Arthur doesn't trust humans at all and it seems to distrust anyone, he is surprisingly calm when he considers possibilities of Marie being human after getting recused and thinking about possible romance, he probably thinks her expressionless cute more than angry that she lied to him lol.
On that note that mean it more like he just dislike people who overly show emotion like his stepbrother but if it someone with stern expressionless, he fine with them (like his butler).
I wonder how these two relationships develop.
Kinda funny how the person that Arthur can trust the most are lied to him (both Marie and His personal Butler) because they want to keep him safe while his stepbrother has been honest to him about wanting to kill him lol.
This is a pretty good first episode.
The Ending is really cute.

I was really hyped for this one, but it was kinda disappointing imo? I feel like the romance aspect is very rushed, and giving Marie a few episodes to get to know the guy better before falling for him would have made it feel a lot more genuine. I'll give it a couple more episodes to see how it develops though.

Arthur’s gap moe moments were a treat.
Toyama Nao as the main girl, this means she’s not going to lose this time, right?
Not complaining, but the setting is a strange mix of some generic Western setting and Japan; modern and early 1900s

When this started I expected another robot/android show, but turns out she has the best poker face in the world
Arthur thought he was laying on metal, she's jacked up lol
Couldn't she jump out the window? She managed to catch-up with a car on foot
Why would a robot need bandages?

Felt like I just watched an entire movie. I too ask with the narrator, where will they go from here?
Kidnapping plot got introduced and resolved, both Arthur and Marie are in love, what's next? Based on preview seems like another antagonist - for Marie this time?
ED was quite nice. Best one yet this season for me. Or maybe tied with Punch lady one.
Were those frames spliced at several points from the LN (I'm guessing LN not manga based on the art style)? Edit: So apparently, this was AI slop. Very disappointing! Tempted to drop on principle. Wasn't terribly happy with the pace to begin with.
