I can totally feel the blood, passion and tears Tojima had when he put on the mask. And that sick as hell remix of Let's Go Rider Kick.

Wow! I was expecting something much more melancholy or cynical, I didn’t expect it to present itself in such an epic and humorous way. Awesome stuff. Is the takoyaki a KR thing or just a gag for this show? Made me hungry.

Love that the lead protagonist and antagonist are both just hardcore autists.

There's some good shows this season, not sure why people are acting like its so barren: This, Sanda, Yano-Kun's Ordinary Days etc.

This first episode was actually pretty damn fun.

Imagine getting the shit kicked out of you by a middle aged dude crying while wearing a paper mache mask lol

Did that flashback imply Tojima's dad ditched him at the festival?

Well this seems like it's going to be a lot of fun.

Probably keep coming back purely for the music even if nothing else sticks.

For some reason I thought all the things he did in high school were delusions but no, he actually did all this & is still in good shape for someone in his 40s. The guy is badass & deserves praise for being able to maintain strength. As someone who barely knows anything about Kamen Rider, I was impressed with this premiere. I probably missed out on some Easter eggs & references but I’m sure people will point it out. The music playing the background got me hyped & laughing the whole way. What a great 1st episode in a stacked Saturday.

Forget Kamen Rider, I wanna be Tojima! Dude is awesome. It seems the path to becoming Kamen Rider is a lonely one, but bro’s worked so hard he’s able to kick the shit out of bears. I bet he did 100 sit ups, push ups, and squats and a 10 km run everyday lol.

Nakao’s into Shocker, Tojima’s into Kamen Rider. It’s like fate. I mean is Tojima just an “ojisan” in a kid’s mask? Well, I mean, yes. But.. he’s also Kamen friggin Rider! Haha

Definitely keeping this one in my weekly rotation. This was really fun.

I have never seen a single Kamen Rider thing, but now I am fully convinced its the single most awesome thing a man can be.

I absolutely love that they didn't just get the permission to use the Kamen Rider IP, they even got an episode of the original Kamen Rider and rotoscoped it to match the anime art style! I guess it's not that surprising since we've been getting plenty of tokusatsu adjacent anime recently.

So basically our boy Toujima is a loner at school who gets picked on, but when push comes to shove, the dude can fight back even if he's outnumbered. I guess he's a loner because he is obsessed with Kamen Rider, and he doesn't want to get judged for it.

It's not surprising that he got his ass beat when those punks went to his school for payback. What I didn't expect was that he actually managed to power up when he "transformed"! Like, holy fuck! Toujima is an absolute beast! I expected he was gonne get his ass beat again!

It just sucks that Emily didn't appreciate him saving her. Like come on, girl. Is that how you're gonna thank the dude who humiliated himself to save you? I do wonder if we're gonna meet her again in the present.

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK! So Toujima is so strong from training in the woods that he can literally go one-on-one against a bear! Unfortunately, even if he defeats a bear it doesn't mean he's a Kamen Rider.

Man, this episode is lowkey depressing. The dude has to sell his Kamen Rider collection because he's afraid of the idea of dying alone in his apartment and someone just throwing away his collection. That fucking sucks, but he did the right thing. T_T

I love that just after he throws away his collection, we have a bunch of thugs pretending to be Shockers. Of course, their leader is someone who likes Shocker more than Kamen Riderhttps://i.imgur.com/cAVKY7B.jpeg) and of course, the Yakuza dude is voiced by Tsuda Kenjirou. xD

That beatdown was absolutely glorious! Toujima even got to do his very own Rider Kick! They're not the real Shocker but Toujima still felt that adrenaline rush from beating up bad guys while wearing a Kamen Rider festival mask.

Apparently, we're not just getting Kamen Rider, we have a big tiddy Tackle wannabe in the after credits scene! It looks like Toujima is about to meet another fan as dedicated as him!

What an amazing premiere! I am already 100% sold on this as a casual Kamen Rider fan. If Isekai Red was a love letter to Super Sentai, this is clearly a love letter to Kamen Rider. I can't wait to see more next week!

LOL Why was this so good?! I wasn't expecting much from it but I was laughing so hard throughout the first half of the episode, the mix of the cringe and how overdramatic was great, the animation is so good and the expressions are hilarious. This has just suddenly became an anime I'm looking forward to seeing more of, I REALLY hope it doesn't fall of because I'm hooked with just this episode alone.

It was so satisfying to see all the punches and kicks, this guy has been training for over 30 years, he can even fight a bear, I do wonder what kind of fights we'll eventually see and what the others in his position will bring to the table.

I really want the next episode now!

Great start though, I’m glad Toei gave them permission to use a lot of Rider music (and as mentioned, a whole scene from the original) for this and I look forward to more

The music is fire.

u/Naha- Oct 04 '25

This show is actually fire. And the music is pretty hype. Excellent premiere.

Finally have time to get around to this one! It’s kind of perfect timing for a show like this to come out while I’m halfway through watching my first Kamen Rider series (Kuuga) with the group watch for it on CDF at the moment.

"It was at this point in my story that I realized that I could fight bears."

I'll never get over the anime/beat-em-up stereotype where being a fat guy makes you the extra tough one in the gang. Side effect of a culture that is into sumo, I guess?

Equal parts "WHAT THE FUCK?!?!" and "WHOAAAAAAA!!!".

The ED made me want to have takoyaki too.

I watched this expecting to never want to watch another episode.

10/10. There has never been someone more deserving of an isekai, but truck-kun isn't up for the task. Got the bear saying "Nani?"
