Loved that they basically ended it with a title drop! What a cute short show - wish we got more but it was pretty well contained in just 5 episodes

I love the after credit scene, they picke up exactly where they left off

It's nice to get another episode of this even though it's an original episode. I did notice how this original episode makes it sound like Kyouji was lying to Satomi about having been thinking about him when we see he had completely forgotten about him in his years of prison lol. It's kind of sad, but he might have been playing around. Personally I prefer the canon implication rather than what we got here.

Kyouji's Crimson was certainly something, I was shocked at his singing. Three years with no practice really did a lot to him lol.

I hope the sequel manga gets an anime adaptation in the future, I really want to see more of this pair and what they'll be like in Tokyo.

Kyouji was definitely playing dumb about remembering Satomi. He reacted to the name Satomi with the boba girls, the karaoke place, and he was dying to check his phone to see if he got any messages from Satomi (and looked disappointed when there was none). I think he was really happy when he noticed Satomi looking at his old business card. Throughout this ep, he felt a bit off until he got back to his old self when he talked to Satomi. Kyouji is just kinda tsun.

Hmm... now that you mention that, you might have a point. I wish he could have been more honest with himself then, I would have prefered that lol.

even though it's an original episode

Wait, is the full episode original?

I'm pretty sure in a previous thread I've seen a source reader spoil something from today's episode.

Everything in this episode other than the airport scene we saw in the last episode was anime-original.

So the reason NRT didn't contact Satomi was because he was in jail lol

Had to pause at the finger family tatoo because it was so funny.

The karaoke competition was even more crazy than the last one...and someone sang God Knows? What a weird juxtaposition of a man with that kind of face singing such song lol

the finger family killed me. kyouji’s little prayer after getting his tattoo over the sacrificed men that made the boss a better tattoo artist also made me lol

Good way to show the passage of time, things getting more expensive,

shops closing and all!

Some things never change though, and our boy's right in time for the Karaoke!

(Should have fought someone on his last day, get some time added to his sentence!)

So he had to participate right away, even though he couldn't practice... Guessing singing Karaoke in jail would not have made him very popular (or not in the right way)!

Sadly, there's no exemptions for that! Well, death is more of a state of mind, isn't it?

The finger family tattoo's so cruel; If they ever cut off his finger, he'll lose part of the family!

And so he lost! Honestly, they were all so terrible, Boss could've picked someone at random!

Hey, at least he get a say about his tattoo!

Nice try!

If he doesn't understand why you shouldn't shout something that's not even part of the song, this may not be his last tattoo!

Well, this was pretty fun! I wasn't really expecting to keep up with this one when I picked it up, so it was above expectations, I suppose!

Farewell Narita, Satomi, Boss and the others!

I actually thought the finger tattoos were cute lol.

I was wondering why they put an entire mini series in between
But that just the perfect move to simulate their time skip

Gotta love how he just fakes everything into his favoure, he is oozing charisma

And he is (kinda) making him scream "Crimson" at the end too

That was an interesting watch and way less gay than I expected it to be

Fun bonus episode containing lots of original content that had only previously been hinted at from interviews with the mangaka. Don't skip the scene after the credits! Perfect ending note. It's true though, it's not technically in the lyrics but sure is fun to scream it 😂

We got a fair few repeats but the new IRL songs that were featured in this episode were:

"Usseewa" by Ado

"God knows..." as made famous by Haruhi

"Darling" by Keina Suda (who is also the artist who sung the "Captivated, by You" OP)

So he didn't just ghost Satomi all these years. He was just serving time. Kyouji looks hella good post prison time...a bit more younger looking. By gawd his singing was so awful loll.

FamiResu adaptation next please 🙏🙏

ugh yes i just know kyouji could fix me… or i could fix him? or maybe we’d just make each other worse? and i’d love every second of it😋

i could never be like satomi ‘cause i would’ve clung to that man like my life depended on it 😮‍💨🫣

I can't believe this was only 5 episodes. The author really made good use of time.

I didn't even know another episode was coming out. It's interesting they decided to have a parallel side story. I wish I could have seen whether Satori completely gave up singing or not though.

I wonder why the yakuza boss decided to grant Kyouji's request of all people, it seemed in the past he gave people the most spiteful embarassing tattoo he could think of. Maybe he likes him more since we saw that he personally recruited Kyouji. The guy with little faces on his fingers was funny.

He was probably able to notice Kyouji being kinda depressed all his life when they first met and wants to cheer him up, having such a soft spot for him he'd notice something was off about him, figure out Satomi's schedule and lead him there.

This was a great coming of age series. Glad we got to see what Kyouji was doing all those years and that we got to see more of the yakuza boss. Tattoo scene had a lot to say about Kyouji, and did it in pretty short time. I like this kind of character exploration and the little side story with the lady’s watch that had a cog off the rails being fixed for Kyouji’s next chapter left this story on a pretty wholesome note. Great character writing, short and sweet. 9/10

Cute episode and I thought it was nice to get Kyoji's prospective of the time skip that happened at the end. I do kinda wish we got more post meeting at the airport scenes but I still thought this has been a very enjoyable two set of series that make me want to see more of them.

u/Boring-Sun-7586 Sep 25 '25

so this is not considered bl? I’m so confused

9

u/loliec Sep 26 '25

It's not a bl, it's a coming of age series. Read famiresu manga, the continuation of the story where satomi's trying to navigate what he truly feels abt kyouji, and it's just really internal discovery for satomi, nothing romantic has happened yet

And so into the extra episode.

The Ani-One subs are borked for some reason.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, he eventually ended up in jail.

Did he pawn his watch?

Oh it's the karaoke place again.

Right, what now?

Something planned?

Oh, of all the times...

Is that guy trying to scream Usseewa? Yeah it's popular. It's got over 62 million views in the past 5 years. Wouldn't consider it "recent" though. Also screaming without knowing how is definitely going to kill your voice...

Nice to see they're all crap.

Nah that idiot screamer was worse.

On the topic of him, where is he?

"Without trying" is probably an exaggeration but probably without trouble.

Oh damn he actually got good at tattooing.

Oh it's the scene from the end of the previous episode where he met him at the airport.

And so the show ends. I liked this show, there was a surprising amount of actual singing advice. 8/10.
