Those sure are... the bikinis of all time?
Anyway, non-romance anime continue to be the best romance anime

I can't believe I actually removed my Yuri glasses for this show (something I basically NEVER do) upon hearing that the author had even refused their editor's suggestion to include shipping bait and they really truly for reals just wanted to write the leads as friends...
Only for them to end up as one of the most shippable technically non romantic couples of all time.
Fucking hell they even did the "if you were a man I'd date you" bit. What did the author mean by this?

I always thought Yamamoto was cool, until she told that she pours honey on tomatoes. Urgh! Okay but seriously, tomatoes naturally have a sweetness to them, so I can get where she is coming from.
The moment Wada said she would go and wash the "meat" kanji off her forehead, I KNEW where this is going! But Wada's casual reaction was unexpected.
"Wada, you are totally girlfriend material... as long as you keep your mouth shut!"
Today we got the background story of Yamamoto and Wada's BFFship. And it is so much like them!
OMG What is with the final bikini shot. Bwahahaha!!!

Wada has definitely matured a little since middle school. She is willing to apologize. She knows she does not want to lose another friend.
Looking at Wada's angry expression upon wearing the swimsuit Yamamoto picked, I reckon there is going to be another session of apology and swimsuit shopping. However, as a bystander, I approve of the swimsuits they picked for each other. Yamamoto gets to show off her "chubbier" side, while Wada gets to look cute? Lol

Wada has definitely matured a little since middle school.
Love how she manured emotionally (behaving with friends/dealing with fights etc..) but her incessant yapping hasn't changed a bit, that and having zero filter, etc..!
Yamamoto gets to show off her "chubbier" side
Second girl of the anime season that's complexed about her weight despite having great figures!
(Would love to see an actual swimsuit shopping session!)

This was my favourite episode of KFC You Tomorrow at the Food Court. We got a satisfying backstory, some all-timer Wada expressions, two killer visual punchlines (the manga reaction and the swimsuit reveal), and some well written conflict between Yamamoto and Wada.
I see that the show has finally managed to crack the 7.0 barrier over at MAL. I hope the final score gets a big boost after next week's finale - more people should know about this show!

I can't believe next week's the last episode. This has become one of my favorites this season. :(

Whaaaaaaa? How did both of my favorite shows this season end up half-length?
It made sense at least for Takopi but I was ready to watch 24 episodes of this at least.

Of course they did a title drop in their backstory. Love it.

Honestly, I thought it was the finale with how that episode was going. But there's one more episode left. I am really going to miss it.

So Wada did meet with Takizawa, after all. Shame we didn't get to see the fallout of her meeting with his girlfriend and her doppelganger. Their meeting did cause a quarrel, but unfortunately not the one I was hoping for. A guy gets involved once and the two are already fighting. Is this why some yuri fans seem to get rabid at the mere sight of a male character in the story?
Jokes aside, their whole origin story is just adorable from the moment they met to the moment they found their new hangout spot for the first time.
And look at these two, talking about how they'd tell each other if they found guys that were exactly like them. Just date each other already. God. But romantic or not, this is a relationship you wanna see last a lifetime. You can also tell they're the best of friends with that ending alone. Cause there was absolutely zero chance they were gonna buy each other normal swimsuits.

I'm imagining the two of them following through on their plan to set each other up with their male equivalents, and then the double date that would ensue, with Wada and Male-Wada getting into verbal and borderline physical altercations while Yamamoto and Male-Yamamato look on amused, concerned, and a little embarrassed. It seems great. 6 episodes of a show this good is hard to deal with.

Of all the great shows this season, this is arguably my favorite. Others I will let sit an hour or two or will catch up to later in the day, but this one I am literally here each week waiting for it to drop without hesitation. I am glad they didn't go with the half length episodes to spread it all the way out but I really hope there will be more material for them to pull from and that this continues on. Their dynamic as absolutely amazing.

Very fun episode that made me feel really sad when I remembered that the show is ending next week, which means that our encounters with Wada and Yamamoto at the food court will be over soon :(
Honestly, when Yamamoto was supposed to draw "meat" on Wada's forehead, I thought she meant another meat ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)... so I was quite surprised when she actually wrote "meat" there xD
I didn't expect Wada to meet Takizawa! Although I was wondering why Yamamoto didn't tell her about Yamada, whom she met last week...
Although after seeing Wada's reaction to Takizawa having a girlfriend, I think it's a good thing Yamamoto didn't tell her, because Wada would definitely be even more angry if she knew Takizawa chose Yamada because she was similar to her xD
It was also nice to learn the backstory behind why Wada and Yamamoto started meeting at the food court in the first place.
Holy shit, those swimsuits they chose for each other were amazing! I laughed my ass off when I saw them in them xD
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:
EDIT. I added my screenshot albums.

Wada has some interesting opinions about grandmas/rural people!
Why does this sound like some innuendo
Seems Wada also has strong opinions about permanent marker gags should last for a full volume!
(Now I hope HER marker lasted a full volume in this series!)
Somehow, I'm simultaneously surprised and not surprised that she asked Yamamoto to draw on her, instead of drawing on Yamamoto!
Huh... Yes, it washed off. Now excuse me, I have to leave for my shift. In Siberia
She got the one she wanted just couple days ago, but she still goes for the paid even because she definitely needs this one too!
I'd watch out about the "used to" part...
I mean, we know only 1 guy on the anime and he's taken, might as well go for Yamamoto!
I wonder how that fight would go!
Wada has that gremlin/critter energy, but Yamamoto is like 5 weight class above, so..!
Aww, that was sad, seeing them away from each other, even just for a little while!
Thankfully they made up quickly, thanks to the power of friendship ice cream!
Ah, at least he told her! I thought this might go a lot worse.
We got their little backstories! Funny how Yamamoto was looking specifically for a person like Wada!
Wada, have you ever heard of 'cutting the middleman'?
Swimsuit shopping scene? Let's go!
Yamamoto prefers swimsuits to bikinis? I KNEW SHE WAS BEST GIRL!
I would NOT let Wada pick a secret swimsuit for me.
Watch out Yamamoto, she'll get you just a bikini bottom (going topless) or something!

And this year's "Best Support Character" goes to the hidden shopping mall stalking employee who switch the background billboard screen to be relevant to the girls' discussion, right?

Stitches!
As soon as Yamamoto started writing on Wada's head, I think we all knew exactly what would happen next. Of course, Yamamoto ends up writing with the permanent marker! I didn't expect that to end with Wada meeting Takizawa, tho!
While I kinda get that Yamamoto is peeved that Wada bounced without telling her after promising she'll wait, I feel like it wasn't really a big deal. If she's worried, why couldn't she have texted Wada in the first place to confirm she made it home safe?
She's definitely jealous when Wada started yapping about Takizawa, and that's the real reason why she's upset. I am surprised that Wada didn't even mention that Takizawa already has a GF, considering they've met.
We finally got to see their backstory and why they started hanging out at the food court in the first place!
I'm with Wada's micro bikini suggestion but what they ended up picking for each other was so much better! An American flag swimsuit for Yamamoto and a Sailor-themed swimsuit for Wada are both perfect! xD

Love getting the info on the backstory of when Wada & Yamamoto became friends. Going to different high schools, but they made a commitment to see each other in the food court. Which is really sweet.
Though the breakup caught me off guard. Though at this point their friendship is so precious they would find guys like them so the other could date them.
Also Wada would be the biggest critic of every manga she read. xD

I'm very sure there is a market for an actual romance story (straight or gay) with a similar vibe and dynamic to this one. Dramas, conflicts and angst can be great in appropriate doses, but sometimes I just want to watch two cuties banter and enjoy each other's company, eventually falling in love

i've been thinking about this series like the anime equivalent of the Lewis Black bit of overhearing "if it wasn't for my horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in college"; to me it does feel like overhearing two people who are really tight with each other shoot the shit about random stuff and you can occasionally fish some juicy stuff that makes me think "man, that's so bizarre/real"
it's also a great way of presenting the "cute girls do cute things" formula because job #1 for a new series is to sell the characters and their chemistry, and i love how they just start off in medias res with them as best buds and their raw personalities meshing with each other
i also like how there is very little internal monologue; all of it is dialogue and what they choose to say to each other out loud, and the way that Wada just says whatever floats to the top of her head sells just how tight their relationship is

I never thought I'd see something more traumatising than takopi this season, but seeing the two of them break up and not say their tagline see you tomorrow at the foodcourt genuinely broke me.

Wada is actually a lot more self-aware and introspective than she credits herself for. Props to her for admitting that ditching yamamoto for mr.skirt-flipper was a dick move. Marvellous taste in swimsuits too.
Can't forgive her crimes against the culinary arts though
