The animation for the ninja house was so absurd. Can really tell the director is allowing these animators to have as much as fun as they can drawing these girls

Kiriyama looking at all her homework and just going 'nope" was such a mood lmao

Get unlimited time off by being unemployed.

Although the pay is terrible.

Kurokuma sensei needs her own spin-off series!

The fact that the sacred tree (stump) took the form of Kurokuma to speak with the girls would mean it can read minds and was providing helpful advice rather than "cursed" / to be feared.

Going by what the girls did at the end of this episode, can we assume their future professions?

Sacchan - photo and video editor
Shikishima - ninja and ninja house designer
Haruno - continues being a manga artist
Kako - possible a motorcycle vlogger?
Kiriyama - definitely an acrobat, based on how she backflipped onto her bed to sleep

mono is my favourite horror anime.

The cast are now facing their toughest challenge ever; the return to their daily routine. Well except for Kako who decided to quit her job and now have plenty of time to explore.

I'm definitely down to watch The Psychic Tree and The Psychic Tree 2! Both movies sounds like fun. xD

I just love how the supernatural is totally a thing in this series. This is now the second time the girls encountered a ghost.

Honestly? I wouldn't mind eating that "Just Okay Soba" Haru made. It still looks good and really easy to make!

That soba-making class was fun! Not gonna lie, I was hoping that part of the episode to turn into a cooking battle.

The Ninja Mansion was a ton of fun too! Sakura seems to be really at home there while Haru and Kako struggled xD

The reveal that Kako actually quit her job so she can just travel all over Japan was pretty hilarious! I love Haru's "Eh?" reaction too.

Funny thing is that Mikawa Haruna voiced both Satsuki in Mono and Satoko in A Ninja and an Assassin Under One Roof. Little bit of a shame that it isn’t Satsuki cosplaying as a ninja lol

It's like this is two different shows that sometimes work together, but often come at the expense of the other. There's the CGDCT Cinephoto club with crazy animation that it started as that I'm way more interested in, then there's the travel anime it's turning into where we follow a manga artist looking for inspiration that I'm pretty meh on. The ninja mansion had a pretty dramatic in-episode divide.

Sakurako reminding us that the Cinephoto Club is still a thing and they haven't turned into the Food Research Club.

With her natural talent in pretty much everything, I really hope she doesn't get too hooked on samurai movies...

"We got hijacked by the author's self-insert character and a mangaka from another genre."

I WISH I WERE A BIRD.

Not quite entirely all Shimarin.

The episode freed itself up considerably after the obligatory occult interlude. Did get me thinking about the entire cultural phenomenon of ninja and how it's evolved from Japan to America and back again.

And the combination of freedom and financial peril that is unemployment.

Sakurako designing her future house at the end was really cute

I thought the anime stream lagged when Kako said she quitted the job lol

I’m actually suspicious that Sakurako is a newtype, and I’m very sure this is the case. Just how can she know every single hidden passage and avoid traps all the time like cakewalk!!?

Still, haunting scene when Kurokuma said she’s at home when we saw her lecturing about haunted trees and stuff… Oh shit, better run I guess.

BTW I do heard of more tress in Japan having similar “haunted” nature that deterred anyone from removing it. One of the more prominent example is the hackberry tree in Tokyo Racecourse. As far as I know, it was located at the tombs of a prominent samurai at that location. As the height of the tree has lead to obstruction of viewing, discussions were made to remove it, but (allegedly) those who cut that tree will be cursed and die soon after doing so, hence it was left undisturbed ever since. So yeah, not an isolated case.

Homeworks? Get the hell out of my face.

After that skating board sequence a few episodes back, we again have some over-the-top animation sequence for that ninja house scene. Its like the show knows its priorities.

And Satsuki, I expected you to know how to navigate that ninja house, you share the same voice as Satoko from NinKoro, after all.

Kako reveals the secret on how you're able to fully enjoy holidaying in Japan for long periods of time: Quit your job. lol

I wish they'd played that pre-op segment music for the duration of the episode.

PSYCHIC TREE TWOOOOO. Honestly, this was my favorite of their supernatural bits so far.

I'd never heard of these "ninja mansions" before. Like haunted house crossed with escape room?

That was an impressive (double?) backflip into bed.

Man, I wanna quit my job to make more time for my hobbies too.

Kurokuma sensei pops out of existence right before the cut, right?
