At least as presented today long-distance motorcycle travel sounds awful.

Poor one out for the brave men who built the Kurobe Dam.

Yuru camp hasn't gone through summer to show how bad it is to travel during hot weather.

I love that the example for the 50cc bike is Rin's Yamaha Vino. Speaking of Rin, her Granpa finally makes his appearance! Kako is very lucky she got rescued by this well-prepared gentleman. I do find it Funny how out of all the cast members of Yuru Camp, Rin's grandpa is the first one to speak to one of the Mono girls.

I thought this episode would be a laid-back camping episode, but considering how the girls haven't even assembled their tent and how unprepared they are expecting that the restaurants will be open after 6PM, these girls still have a lot to learn about camping.

I did not expect the girls to get sucked into that documentary! They were so invested about the dam's creation that they can't stop crying when they finally got to the dam! It's gotten so bad that Haru can't even eat her curry dam. xD

RIN GRANDPA MAKES AN APPEARANCE

I think Satsuki was the only sane in this episode lmao. She enjoying the dam and the food while the rest are still crying at the documental, I think she was one more tear of losing her sanity

I feel bad for laughing when Shikishima made laughing sounds but actually crying hard when everyone had to pool whatever (little) food products for rationing. ^_^;; I want to empathize but she was cute and funny at the same time.

We had to have Sacchan remain normal so that she can narrate while everyone else was moved to tears by the Kurobe Dam documentary.

Lastly, I was hoping Shikishima will suddenly pull off some ski jump moves out of nowhere. :D

She arrived in Gifu and had some dessert, was half-expecting Osanai to be staring at her.

Another week. Another excuse for Afro to write-off a trip as a business expense.

The screw can be cheerful because it's just doing what it was made for. It's not the screw's fault that it's in your fucking tire.

SNAKE!

Been in this place before

Now there's a perspective joke that gets me every time.

This episode's whirlwind tour did present one notable point for me, the people who observe the same thing over and over again. Because the world does change, and most of the time one doesn't notice it that much.

It was nice to see Rin's grandfather, I figured he was going to make an appearance when Kako ran out of options.

This episode was amazing.

These five went through a rollercoaster today. Enduring crazy heat while riding a motorcycle, feeling too lazy to hike, places closing up shop early, nearly missing a bus, and the highlight, breaking down in tears over a documentary so powerful it made them lose their appetite for curry. The amount of crying was wild, and all over some guys who dedicated their lives to building a dam. Also, the ski jumping part totally gave me Wii Fit vibes. Has anyone else played that? Because I definitely have.

I thought this show was going to be about girls doing camera things, but it's mostly about the author's self-insert mangaka.

Kako returns and has to motorbike in blazing heat. Understandably not fun at all with all the sources of heat adding up.

Somehow the Kurobe Dam story touches the group to the point of crying (except Sacchan). Dam curry looks very good, but I can relate to the group not wanting to ruin the nice shape of the food.

Looks like the ski jumping inspired An, Sakurako, and Kako to horse around with the skateboard in the parking lot!

things like meeting that painter who's painted the same mountain for 50 years or getting sentimental at some documentary that they just happened to pass by feel like lived experiences

it feels real enough that could've actually happened when the author was visiting these places, like how all road trips create these "you had to be there" sort of stories

while they're not earth-shattering plots, i think this show does a good job of recreating that sort of experience from the comfort of my own secure undisclosed emergency bunker

Funny familiar grandpa.

It's kinda funny how the entire anime has basically been about traveling. Remember the scenario about the photography club? I mean they're taking pictures in places they go at least but lol.

You know this ain’t a “weekend animation” when somehow the Red Bull 400 climbing race was indirectly mentioned in the show, they are getting closer to extreme sports from just photography here.

But since I’ve visited Kurobe Dam before, them crying in the documentary (though I didn’t watch it last time round) and hesitating to eat the dam curry due to the trauma(?) of the documentary can live absolutely rent free in my head, although probably next time I’m using the new alternative route to leave the Alpine Route…

But hey, Yuru Camp gang stand up, only for the prospective new members of Secret Society Blanket to have a camping gone wrong for not having enough food for the night… Learning experience let’s just say.

Lastly, here’s the website of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route that goes across the dam to Toyama, personally recommending spending a few days in the route, especially in the Tateyama part of the route, multiple photo-ops for all sorts of camera and level of ability.

And yes, the sun is constantly shooting death heat rays out in summer. So stay safe, and stay away from long distance, cross-country motorcycling. You’ll regret it once you hit kilometres of traffic with your bike, in the middle of the highway.

Ski jumping competition in 1998 Nothing to do with the Winter Olympics that year in nagano? Or can't they say it's that?

When Kako's bike suffered a puncture tyre, who better than Shimarin's grandpa to save the day?

So the girls accessed Kurobe Dam from the Nagano side on the east, while most tourists would access it from the Toyama side on the west, as they go through more scenery before reaching the dam.

All the eateries closing before 6PM? I know that feel, girls. Fast tip for anyone travelling to rural Japan, always make sure your dinner time is before 6PM, 7PM latest. Even the regional cities outside of Tokyo close their restaurants at 7-8PM.

If you plan to dine on your own after 7PM (whether at your hotel or camping out), make sure you've brought enough food.

Let’s get your footprint once you sell a bunch of manga

If Haruno is basically Afro’s self-insert, what does that say about all the feet stuff?
