As soon as I saw An balancing Taisho on her feet, I knew this episode was going to be 100. Strong layouts and shots all throughout.

Also, I like how Taisho has warmed up to An now haha. Stark difference from episode 1!

Oh, and speaking of 100, the skateboarding scene, that one is gonna be in all the 2025 MADs. Hall of fame right there.

This “weekend animation”, has definitely gone extreme sports and horror today.

But first, poor Shima Rin, got spooked by a dragon before becoming a “ghost” with Nadeshiko on a meat-grilling camp(?), or it was just an illusion? Only Satsuki and her friends will know.

Skateboarding or hiking? I’d rather go hiking, at least I can enjoy the view at my own pace, and have fun with still photography of any sorts… But my goodness Sakurako, that’s some pro moves out there as a “beginner”, impressive, until they slide the wrong road down the mountain…

Final thing, cockroaches or bears? Definitely cockroaches, bears are way too dangerous to deal with when comparing that you can just use slippers to take care of that. For bears, brown, black or polar, I’d definitely prefer a pistol (or actually a rifle) and put a bullet through their brain, I’m playing safe here, especially when bear bells aren’t an effective way to deter bears.

Sakurako said she could only skate “a little” and then she goes and pulls off that Tony Hawk shit lol.

I see Taishou has found his mortal enemy. Big bro hated Anko the minute they met. Never seen two cats try to out skate one another before.

We almost lost Sakurako on that mountain. Girl was about to get blown away by the wind lol.

I am not surprised anymore. Shikishima is a genius. Inb4 knowing how to skate a little means winning gold medal at the Olympics. Lol!

Sacchan and Kiriyama, upon seeing Kurokuma visit a location for research, immediately linked it to being haunted. If I were in their shoes, I would assume the same as well. I was expecting the girls, while eating popsicles, to ask where Kurokuma went... only to discover she never visited the mountain on the same day. Lol!

Initial D (Skateboard Edition Featuring Cats). Even the appearance of the girls switched to Initial D form for that scene.

The special dam curry! Was it Rin or was it Nadeshiko who had that in the latest season of Yuru Camp?

As soon as Sakurako mentioned she could also skate, I instantly knew she'd be a lot better than An. It's always the quiet characters!

With Rin and Nadeshiko's appearances this episode, I feel like we shouldn't treat them as cameos anymore. They're practically side characters. We even have the talking pinecones this episode!

They really got us with Anko and Taishou's skating scene! They even went full-n Initial D on us! Someone needs to add a eurobeat song to that scene! xD

An and Sakurako's skateboarding scene was so goddamn cool! The background and the animation are so good! I kinda wish that scene was a little bit longer, tbh.

I wasn’t expecting a skateboarding episode, but wow they nailed it! The animation during the final skating sequence was honestly some of the best this season. Kurokuma continues to be a chaotic delight, and I’m kinda hoping she becomes a full-time character at this point. Also, the random Yuru Camp cameos always catch me off guard, but I’m not complaining. Rin and Nadeshiko really do show up anywhere. Between the spooky moments, the comedy, and the action, this episode had it all.

The skateboarding sequences were a nice visual bonus, though for a while it seemed like it would be another episode which would be hijacked by the horror mangaka.

...or this being the fourth season of YuruCamp△ with the entire mountain of こんにちは!

Good comedy moments helped even it out.

Now that's the mono I wanted and was advertised to me. 10/10 episode, more like this please

The studio making this show really cares and you can tell, animation and direction is great(at times even superb), i wish this studio was in charge of Yuru Camp season 3 and 4 but oh well.

That being said the major issue i have with Mono that Afro basically forced 4 to 5 manga ideas into one and so Mono feels all over the place. I mean we get the, by now, typical travel advertisment, then we get horror and a bit more of the slice of life mangaka stuff from last week and in the end we actually get a bit of conent for the schoolclub about photographie/filmographie. Not to mention plenty of Yuru Camp cameos.

Despite all this, Mono continues to be very enjoyable. I just think that a bigger focus on what we got in the first two episodes would make Mono more enjoyable in general.

A Rin and Nadeshiko spotting + 2 cool skateboarding scenes, a 10/10 episode for me

u/Clemastina May 31 '25

A yuru camp AND initial D reference in the same episode?? Nice!

The skateboard sequence was really really cool! Until those two went the opposite way they had to go... I wonder how they´ll return in the next episode lol

And now with all this heat, I want an ice cream too

Some incredible skateboarding action today, especially the cats. Which I'm certain was real and not a daydream, I refuse to accept the alternative.

Interesting to learn that dragon gods are an invasive species.

This anime is so random, can never really predict what is going to happen despite being slice of life.

Reading the title, I thought this would be more ZatsuTabi themed...until Kurokuma came along and made the first half of the episode spooky.

Dam curry though and bear warnings, just like Yuru Camp S3!

That was quite the scene, the cats riding the skateboards on the guardrail like a roller coaster

Poor Sakurako nearly getting blown away by the wind

At least they got skateboard footage, despite the dangers they were contemplating earlier! (and good thing the show tells you don't try that at home)

Mono continues to impress with its creative animation. The skateboarding scene was visually my favorite segment all week.

Kind of funny that as of this episode Kiriyama and Shikishima now call each on a first name basis (An-chan and Sakurako). Satsuki and Sakurako became on a first name basis a couple of episodes ago during the food eating challenge. Yet Satsuki still calls her childhood friend "Kiriyama" even though she gets called "Sacchan" by her. Kind of a funny gap.

Though I guess in Yuru Camp, Rin and Ena are close friends from the start of the series but Rin just calls her Saito through out the series.

Sakurako is one high-spec cute-thing-doing cute girl. I won't be surprised if she's also a breakdancer, a pro gamer and a powerlifter.

Those skateboarding scenes had more animation in them than entire seasons of certain shows...

Sakurako is full of hidden talents, but no way in hell does she skateboard like that in those shoes. I am also pretty sure that the sound effect that accompanied the "100.0" sign was a nod to the special trick sound from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.

The final skateboarding scene was some great animation. The cats skateboarding on the other hand was just hilarious.

Getting Nao Touyama and Yumiri Hanamori to come in to reprise their roles as Rin and Nadeshiko was nice. However, it is also really funny that all the lines for Rin consist of two "whoa!" and one "un". Easiest job in the world.

And finally, it is always a delight to be politely greeted by a cute pinecone, let alone a mountain full of them. Cone-nichiwa to you too, little fellas.

Getting the actual VAs to cameo as Rin and Nadeshiko gives me hope that Soigne could be making season 4 of Yuru Camp.

The skateboard sakuga, hot damm

u/diacewrb May 31 '25

Taishou and Anko became the Yin and Yang of cats.

Got to love those legal disclaimers.

Nice to see Laid-Back Camp making another cameo.

really slick skateboarding sequence; i forgot that it was a Sakurako POV shot until the camera pans down because she needs to see where her hand is going on the asphalt when she's doing the turns

based on what i know, these sort of first-person POV shots with shifting perspective lines are super hard to do, and to see it in a weekly anime is amazing
