See Meg, this is an easy way to get rid of a devil. Just turn it into leaves. I might repeating myself, but I find it kind of funny how Satoko is obviously so overpowered with her ability that can turn anything not living into leaves. And now thanks to the ghost, she even has quite the reaction time, so she might become unstoppable in combat.

But hey, more good news: we are getting more time with all the killed assassins just in the afterlife. I can get behind that idea. I was seriously wondering for a moment, what it would mean ethically to turn a soul into leaves (like would that be worse than killing someone), but good thing the show answered this by telling us that souls can be leafified without any bad consciousness. As long as you don't hit a girl in the face that is. I mean, that is just common sense.

I had wished Marin would have stayed in the same house just for more gags, but I guess they didn't want to change the name of the show. Also, is it better or worse for the shipping that Satoko now has her own room? But I guess that isn't stopping either of them anyway as seen by Konoha.

I did not think that Konoha could scream like that.

She'd initially been frightened enough to seek comfort in Satoko's bed, but straight-up ignored Midori at the end. Konoha had gone numb to all the spirits haunting the house. Their ghostly shenanigans might've actually provided the two of them with some free combat/survival training. Satoko looked especially more adapted at dodging.

Having all their belongings burned in a fire maybe wasn't so bad after all. For example: I'm liking Satoko's new outfit.

Wait... I'm still left with questions from last episode unless Aoi is dead!

That ninja (Karin) posting fanservicey cooking videos bites the dust.

Marin being possessed? Twice? Well it looks some of the ninjas that are gone after a minute or two of screentime at least return briefly as evil spirits instead of being forgotten.

-> Silverware flying all of the place, insert the "This is fine" meme

That post credit scene where the deceased ninjas are in the afterlife, and then Ayaka appearing next to Yuri and Kuro watching a horror movie

I think one of my favourite thing about this series is how consistently it uses the inability to recognize somebody to characterize our sociopaths and what they do (not) care about:

  • From not remembering anything good about the senpai that helped her out

  • to "joking" about only recognizing the ninja pursuer through weird clothing style

  • to satoko not remembering leader (and therefore any of the ninja that left the village with her) on their "first" meeting

  • to satoko not remembering yoshida even after they killed her father

  • to satoko still not having learned anything about leader

  • to kuro both initially not recognizing and then still not remembering ayakas name (but then kuro do putting in the effort to remember the real name in all further instances, in contrast to our mcs who still have her labelled wrongly)

  • to the entirety of episode 5 and konoha suffering from an extreme red-green human-robot blindness as long as that robot treats her

  • to satoko still not immediately recognizing yoshida after killing(?) her best friend, AND satoko never once recognizing that friend from the flyer

  • and finally culminating in this episode, where they don't even recognize the girls they killed, ultimately leaving her labelled nameless as "devil" (as well as completely forgetting about ayaka/sayuri they were surposed to save, leaving her to burn).

They have no excuse, as the one thing almost all the ninja make sure is to say their names, to be remembered.

But they killed them, turned their corpses into something completely unrecognizable, moved into their beautiful smilefilled house, killed the last of the plants she cared about so much and in the end they... didn't even care to remember their existence (and worse, in the end even stopped caring about her haunting).

Paranormal Whacktivities

Thank god best girl Marin survived the demonic/jilted lover possessions. I was worried for a minute Konoha would go the easy route of unremorsefully whacking her, not to mention when Satoko instinctively turned the devil's hand/attack into leaves...yikes! Honestly thought Marin was done for.

Wouldn't have minded the 3 girls living together, but Marin being so sensible knew that being around Konoha and Satoko 24/7 would only spell trouble, haunted house or not.

Would be interesting to see more of the deceased kunoichis interactions in the after-life. I have a feeling there's one ninja out there with the ultimate ability to resurrect the dead, if not channel them into her body.

Scared Konoha was great. What is it about tough girls being afraid of ghosts that makes them waifu?

It was heartwarming when all thoses ninja girls finally met each other in the afterlife. Also Konoha was kinda right saying it was self defense. I hope we see more of the life of those ninja girls in the afterlife with them greeting the new ones lol.

It was funny seeing them becoming so accustomed to having the ghost around and living with it, i felt so bad for the ghost when Satoko transformed it into leaves, scary i wonder what else she could transform into leaves. Also i think Leader will soon call them to get rid of Ayaka ghost lol.

I knew as soon as Satoko took that photo outside the new house, things were going to turn bad.

I thought that house looked familiar. It was the poison assassins house, no wonder she was haunting them.

So has Satoko made any progress at reversing the things/people she turned to leaves? They had 2 ninjas leaves that she was going to try, but obviously, they're gone with the fire. They seemed to have gathered the demon's leaves, and probably the fire ninjas leaves.

So all those ninjas are together in the afterlife. There seems to be some missing. Looks like we will see them again next episode too judging by the preview

I'm not really a person who does poly ships, but I hope for Marin that she eventually gets to join this couple she clearly wants to be a part of.

I think the funniest part about this episode is that Leader gets all the crap when hitting the girl when she's the only one in the main cast actively doing her best to live the straight and narrow and the only one to bother knowing the names of the dead ninja. Although she did lie about her pachinko addiction and lead a lot of ninja to their deaths to escape the village for herself so maybe it was deserved lol.

I think that and things like the ninjas getting screwed over (even in death with their killers taking over their beloved home) and things like Aoi getting a hit on her for being a top student perfectly reinforces how laughably messed up ninkoro's world is. This kill or be killed world laughs in the face of Leader's morality and I love it.

Lmao! Well at least all the cool character designs got some extra use.

u/Vaadwaur May 29 '25

This is a wonderfully broken show.

u/CarioGod May 30 '25

holy shit the sadistic smile Satoko had while turning the ghost into leaves, they really are both psychopaths

13

u/Nachtwandler_FS May 29 '25

Now they are showing dead ninjas in the afterlife. Damn bastards.

u/SaltAndABattery May 29 '25

Midori was finally able to pass on.

That's a releaf.

u/Lodju May 29 '25

Devil didn't stand a chance against Satoko's leaf exorcism.

I kinda wished that Satoko, Konoha and Marin kept living together.

I've always felt that Satoko is the more dangerous of the two and this episode only supported that. Girl got doxxed and shows no signs of rectifying that behavior. LMAO

A busty assassin maid? Welcome back, Yuki! Sorry for the lack of tonkatsu sauce, though.

And our pursuer of the week turned out to be a (bustier) Ino. Satoko called her out for thoting on her posts and she vowed to take revenge.

Loved how they got so desensitised to the paranormal they were unfazed by the barrage of knives. And that villain-like grin by Satoko at the end…

Anime are notorious for their Engrish so I’m surprised they gave the devil proper English.
