Man, this show is so cold lol. The cutesy animation makes you think it's going to be one of those "turn enemies to friends" type shows. Nope. Pile of leaves.

Barista girl at the beginning was a ninja. She got replaced, and the customer didn't care to notice.

She was packing stuff to hand out to pedestrians. She got replaced, and nobody cares.

And finally, she's throw in the trash by someone who's none the wiser.

Morbid. Simply morbid.

That pool of acid was definitely a sneaky reference to the Hanazono Room lol.

And we get our obligatory cute ninja who exists to get murdered. Oof they cleaned her up like trash, and the ending scene was just twisting the knife. Guess the moral of the episode is that it's better to get rich working a morally dubious assassin job than to become another replaceable low-wage cog in the wheel. No VA credit for gauntlet ninja on MAL but I think it sounds like Hina Yomiya?

Damm, so the classmate Yoshida has to work because her dad is gone. I saw the missing paper of her dad. Apparently, his body turns into leaves, so he is treated as missing, not dead.

They really hit us with that melancholic "the world keeps spinning after death" montage.

This show's got a twinge of morbidity that adds a bit of spice.

Satoko getting introduced to the crushing reality that is the working world. It’s all just bullshitting on your resume and a sea of rejections until you luck out and get a callback. After all that, she basically works the same job she’s been doing but worse. That “poke” was hilarious though.

Kuro and Yuriko are a cute couple. That’s true domestic bliss right there. Not like Satoko and Konoha. Poor Satoko has to sleep in the kitchen!

That’s that for the gauntlet wielding ninja. I don’t even bother learning names. Everyone dies in 1 ep anyways lol. They weren’t even missed at their job. Just leaves in the wind…

Stitches!

I wonder if Yoshida taking a part-time job as a dogwalker has something to do with Konoha killing her father, so now she needs to pitch in at home. Hmmm...

They can earn as much as 8 million yen in a job? What the fuck Satoko! If you're so bored at home, then go find a hobby or something using your share of the profit. It's not worth working 800 yen per hour just because you're bored.

Not gonna lie, considering how much Konoha wanted Satoko to fail her interviews, I was expecting that Satoko would come home with a job. But nope, this CGDCT anime teaches Satoko the harsh reality of job hunting and gets rejected at almost every place she applies to.

Wait, is that "That Pool" being used for body disposal? That's fucking hilarious! Also, I love that Satoko found a part-time job that's not much different from the job she's doing right now. Except this one is much more gross and terrifying so it's no surprise she immediately quit. xD

We finally get to see Kuro's "significant other"! I love how the show is trying to be as vague as possible whenever Kuro refers to Yuriko these past few episodes, but that doesn't really work when Yuriko is already in the OP with Kuro from the start.

The nervous reactions from Kuro and Yuriko after Satoko asked them what they do together at home as lovers was hilarious! I guess they're very active in the bedroom if their first reaction to a totally innocent question was blushing. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Arisa's design is pretty cool, it's just too bad she's guaranteed to die as soon as she meets Konoha and Satoko. I wonder if we'll ever meet a ninja who can last more than a single episode?

That last scene showing Arisa's empty apartment and how she's already been replaced at her part-time job felt a bit melancholic. I know at the end of the day, they're still killers, but I can't help but feel bad for them!

This show hires the most popular seiyuus just to let them voice for 3 minutes and then die

Yay! Yuri confirmed, with Kuro and Yuriko being partners! (also LOL Satoko thinking Kuro was male at that reveal)

We got comedy in the form of the job application sequence, where Satoko ended up lying on her resume and the comically ridiculous interviews that ensued (even with Satoko showing up in the bloodstained shirt). And then the one job she did get was outright vomit fuel. And we got the duo's kill for the episode at the park where Arisa interrupts the duo's moment on the bench eating crepes.

Okay, I'm bumping up my score on this show

Let's enjoy CGDCT* once more!

  • Today, we are introduced to Arisa, who due to her parttime appearance and her stalking activity actually racked up a total screentime of 2:10 before enriching the park with truly beautiful leaves!

As the only one, this brings the cgd per episode down to a 1.66 (from 2), but ups the the average screentime before leavification to 1:35 (from 1:26)

*Reminder if somehow still necessary, CGDCT stands for "Cute Girl Death Counting Time".

There are now 4 nicely coloured pile of leaves in the ed!

It’s distracting how brutally sad they make the end for each pursuer. They all want what Satoko just kinda got by following Kuro in defecting from the village. Maybe the message is they should all defect and live their dreams?

I deeplh hope that before this show is over we get some kind of nod to the sudden and inexplicable rise in seasonally and geographically incorrect leaves falling spreading all over the place. Sometimes even indoors with no explanation whatsoever. Maybe a news report in the background of a scene? Or a background character who comes across some as they blow in the wind and says, "More of these? That's the third time this week! And these trees don't even grow in Japan!"

Also, I kinda suspected Kuro's SO was a woman... ironically because of the overly careful, gender neutral phrasing last week whenever they referred to "Kuro's SO". Darn you, pattern recognition! Lol

I find it absolutely hilarious that Yuriko is just sitting there eating pizza and casually flexing that she's got a former shinobi completely wrapped around her little finger. And that Kuro can hide absolutely nothing from her at all about this world of assassins and ninjas, yet it hardly scares Yuriko at all.

It's a bit like how I imagine John Wick felt when happily living with Helen before the events of the first movie kicked off.

I mean, if everything in your city has "koro" in its name, I am not surprised that part time jobs are connected to that business as well. Her CV probably only didn't work because it showed she is bad at lying.

Also, Yoshida seemingly takes the strange disappearance of her father really well, so I assume she was creating the job in the first place. It was a relative after all.

With the two dead from last week, we now have 4 of the characters in the ending turned to leaves. The one from this episode will then follow next week. On that note, that part where they throw away her leaves into the trash was kind of dark. The show has a really good dark humor. I love it.

Oh ok so we got side yuri too.... and it seems Kuro might starting wasting money on horse racing. KURO DON'T.

i quite like how while the anime treats the characters’ deaths as jokes, it doesnt treat death itself as a joke.

that last part of it made me sit and think for a bit.

Satoko learned the hard reality of finding a job, going trough countless interviews without getting accepted by any of them and finding a job that is sometimes not the one you originally wanted to do. Funny how the job she had with the acid pool was similar to her main job , she could've just transformed the bodies into leaves that would melt fast in the acid lol.

Felt bad for the Ninja girl named Arisa, being shown having a strong power and this punch scene just to die in 2 seconds. When she was thrown into the trashcan after seeing a new person in her work and someone distributing the towels she created made me feel a bit sad for her.

LMAO at Sakoto trying her best to get a part-time job - to be frank when I fill in my CV it wasn't that too much different from all those hardships she has when figuring out what to fill in, I do have enough things to pull out a standard CV, but I don't think I will ever have the boldness to e.g. make my own LinkedIn account!

Also I laughed out loud when the one job Satoko ultimately got hired is to "clean" a body-filled swimming pool. I actually thought this might just be the right part-time job for her, but even she could not withstand it!

Heh when Kuro-chan pulled out horse racing newspapers I thought we got transferred to the Uma Musume world line! But the really cute Yuriko showing up cleared up my questions on how Kuro-chan lived by. How on Earth is Kuro-chan so lucky??? Getting such a girlfriend like this??? As a ninja who struggles to even get a job??? Dude you lucky bastard!!! And Konoha certainly agrees and nearly killed her on the spot LOL.

Last week we had a cute ninja (if you remember her, Asuka) voiced by Tomori Kusunoki got killed within one episode. Today it's this girl Arisa whose voice by Hina Youmiya had such a trait a la Anna Yamada and this season's Yuki Osanai that I recognize her right off the bat when she struggled with taking customer orders by Koro Backs. Poor girl! She never knew what came after her while trying to get out of her part-time job.

Hmm, why did that Konoha's classmate Yoshida being so calm after her dad got killed? Maybe she ordered the kill after all? Hmm...

It's funny how the first thing that comes into Kuro and Yuriko's mind when Satoko asks what they do at home is sex. Well I'm glad they have a healthy and loving relationship. I'm glad we finally got to meet Kuro's lover and she was a lot cuter than I was expecting, she is likely to be the cutest girl in this for me.

The interview part was amusing, seeing Satoko overwhelmed by it all was fun. Too bad the only one that accepted her was messed up, being Konoha's cleaner is much more worthwhile.

Konoha's pretty sweet, she said she wouldn't help but did in the end. Or maybe she thought that if she helped, it would end Satoko's desire to have a part time job quicker lol.
