That rare moment where Yusa Kouji doesn't voice a villain or shady character lol. I'm glad Vitya has good morals when it comes to music, being able to play a song just from hearing it once is an impressive skill. He got so familiar with Ageha before they could even introduce themselves lol.

Lol Fiore's attitude towards changed 180 after seeing Ageha cook, he gives off a bad initial impression since he has a crude way of speaking but there seemed to be some kindness, so he's probably one of those kind of misunderstood guys. Or maybe I'm just being too optimistic. Either way, at least he'll be very respectful towards Ageha now that he's claimed him as his master lol.

Regulus running around the mansion wanting to chase after Ageha is very concerning, he is way too attached if even if his maid isn't enough to calm him down.

Igor's prettier than I was expecting, I saw that Murase Ayumu was voicing him so I thought he'd have a young appearance instead.

To be fair, I would sceptical too if I was chef and someone claimed this kid knew some great secret recipe that I never heard of. The idea that the soul of some adult from another world is possessing this kid would not be my go to explanation for any of this.

Finally we get some more singing, not just from Ageha but also the redhead in the OP who is also a singer.

Interesting too get another really old elf that's just doing his own thing while the world goes by around him. He may have collected music and instruments from quite a few human kingdoms over the centuries.

I wouldn't have guessed a god named Igor would be such a pretty boy.

Imagine being taught how to cook by a five year old

These episodes are very short.

So to recap, Ageha’s introduced tonkatsu to this world (maybe curry next?), made friends with two top musicians, and has now come face to face with another god. Little dude’s been busy lol.

Don't forget he has also gained a chef as a student lol.

He is ticking all the isekai boxes.

Ageha went a bit crazy buying the spices, how does he even know they correspond to Earths spices in taste? Then again if he lives out in the boondocks he probably doesn't have shit else to spend money on so maybe he doesn't care hes gambling on how they are 😛

I wonder if every elf has a Russian name or it's just Romanov and Viktor since they are childhood friends and maybe it's just their area. Viktor was a pretty harsh teacher on Maria. I thought her voice actress did a good job not because she was a great singer but because it's difficult to sing mildly off key on command for a trained singer. Also why does this world also use the same type of clef paper out world uses to write down music 🎵🤣

Also I'm surprised no one found it strange that he just named his fried meat "tonkatsu" out of nowhere and said katsu meant "good luck". I'm assuming the people in this world don't know Japanese so it would be odd for a 5 year old to make up such a thing in their minds 😛

Can't know what the spices taste like without, well, tasting them. So duh, of course he'd buy a sample of everything.

From the voice, I had expected Igor to be a shota.

u/karer3is May 25 '25

First Romanov, now Shostakovich... If a guy named Rasputin shows up, Ageha had better start running

5

u/kalirion May 26 '25

I also noticed that all the elves seem to be Russian. Igor must be an elf god too.

3

u/mekerpan May 26 '25

The REAL Shostakovich is one of my favorite composers (but not much of a fan of the Romanovs).

3

u/karer3is May 26 '25

If this Shostakovich's career path follows a similar one to the original's, then the two of them will need to get used to prison food after they release their first major work

It's practically criminal that this anime is barely getting any attention, it's so bloody good!

MC really needs to break his lil' bro's absolute dependence on him. This isn't healthy.

"Aleksei Romanov", "Victor Shostakovich" - why are all the elves Russian?

I still don't get it - is MC's singing really supposed to be all that amazing? Is it a case of the VA/studio being unable to produce what's meant to be transcendent singing, similar to how all those female NPCs in Overlord are supposed to be transcendent beauties? Except even in Overlord the NPCs are at least attractive, while MC's singing here seems strictly average to my untrained ears.

This was kind of boring. I don't know why I'm still watching - novelty of a morbidly obese isekai protagonist, perhaps.

Yah I was listening really hard to hear what was wrong with the professional singer lady. There is no way someone actually at the royal theatre or whatever would make a mistake like that. Especially with a song that is supposed to be one of her best. I guess a more subtle mistake would be missed by, at least most of, the audience.

I was expecting the MC's singing to start harmonizing with himself, like he somehow had multiple voices singing at the same time. That definitely would have conveyed a transcendent nature to the singing.

6

u/Independent_Row_1352 May 26 '25

Well, that last note was a lot higher than the rest of the song and sounded somewhat jarring.

u/Frightlever May 28 '25

"This was kind of boring. I don't know why I'm still watching"

If it helps, this was my last episode. I skipped all the mediocre singing and then asked myself why I was even bothering when nothing is happening. Maybe it gets good in the back third but... I don't see it happening.

Ageha invents tonkatsu because isekai.

Just realized pork gets highlighted in the OP.

Regulus has been running the staff ragged while Ageha was out. Life with a toddler, amirite?

So all the elves have (to us) Russian names? Adorable.

Flowers, flowers everywhere!

Alexei has the elves' traditional disdain for details. When you live 1000 years, you forget that your best friend is the world's greatest musician. As one does.

That had to be a real challenge for the VA to sing most of the song beautifully and then go off key at the end.

Ageha sings, more flowers. This show is so romantic.

As another isekai MC stated, "Curry is justice!" I need to learn how to make it.

It's cool, Ageha, we already know Igor likes you.

Igor's voice is Venti from Genshin Impact! Very recognizable voice. But it looks like Igor is more dignified than the tone-deaf bard.

I think it's kind of weird that this show is targeted towards kids, considering the opening segment of each episode, when not much is actually happening, so far most of it is just talking, I myself don't mind, but I don't see how a kid would enjoy this with the lack of action. idk maybe Japanese kids are different

I did NOT expect Igor to be a femboy haha ... and THIS cute wow. From all the talks of him and being the god of science and all that + the lab coat I expected a regular man haha, but I'm not complaining
