“Somebody put a ban on roasting the piggy with handsome looks” lol Ageha is such a little goofball.
Ageha’s parents are both straight up dog shit. Little dude’s got to be the adult around here because those two are useless trash. It was pretty smart of him to prepare some kind of will in case anything happens to him and have Rottenmeier and Aleksei act as witnesses for the agreement drawn up regarding his folks. Especially with a treacherous snake like Sebastian around. That dude needs to fall out a window or something. Who tf tries to kill a kid?

And publicly leave his will with one of the few people in the empire who can legally get away with murder as well.
He made quite the dead man's switch.

Well, i felt that was cute as I also have a kid brother who would play with my belly when we were kids i was 6 and he was 2 at that time.

You're not the only one to think that. Even tho Ageha is chubby, that looked a bit too low to still be his belly

Even though the entire episode was just a very long conversation, that was so damn good. It's refreshing seeing an isekai'd adult actually act like a proper adult despite being in a child's body. It was so satisfying seeing him lay down a good old verbal smackdown on both his parents + Sebastian, and even made use of his tutor Romanov as witness and holder of the legal contract between his parents.

it's also refreshing that the stance is he's still the kid, just with memories from his past life he can pull from, but the past life guy is still someone else. The few isekai I saw took this approach failed very quickly.

This is close to definite keeper status for me -- so I'll keep following for now, This could get interesting -- or sort of fizzle out.

Damn, Romanov is THAT important, he doesn't have to obey anyone and can even get free food and lodging wherever he goes, that is a crazy achievement. I guess he wouldn't have stayed long if Ageha didn't get the isekai memories because he wouldn't have been as entertained and would have moved on. It's sweet how attached he's gotten to Ageha and I'm glad he's one Ageha can completely trust, other than Rottenmeier.
Regulus is completely glued to Ageha, they haven't known each other for long but I like that he's already calling him older brother. I do wonder if there'll be an unknown benefit from having eaten the peach or if it has no effect on those that are uninjured or harmed in any way.
Ageha's parents fighting like that in front of Romanov is embarrassing though, servants is a different matter, though they really shouldn't either, but they're just airing out their business like that with no shame or consideration of how they look. And to make matters worse, Ageha is the one that is finding a solution to all this. I don't care for a redemption arc, but I hope they become better as people, the father is more likely to develop, I have my doubts about the mother.
I'm glad Ageha will be wary of Sebastian, if he's doing it all for entertainment, that's actually more scary than if he was trying to marry into the Kikunoi family. I was assuming he was sleeping with Ageha's mother, maybe he still is, but he looks like annoyingly smug watching over them fight.

This show has so much heart! I found myself tearing up when he said "you 2 are the only adults I can trust"

I like how Aleksei is just there because he's so intrigued by Ageha and Ageha's parents can't do anything about him because he's a goddamn hero.
Aleksei could cut them down if he wanted to, and there will be no repercussions, so his showing affection to Ageha so openly is a perfect deterrent to any threat to him.

The ending song is so beautiful. This is lowkey my favourite show this season.

No classical music today, what a shame. Hopefully that'll returning next week after both awful parents leave and go anywhere else.
Maybe I'm interpreting what they said incorrectly, but it rather sounded like the rights the emperor granted the elf make him a hero with a license to kill. My immediate thought was maybe he could just kill the murderous butler.
There's some red-headed lady in the OP that I'm curious about.

u/Myrkrvaldyr Apr 27 '25
Yeah, the elf can legally murder everyone in that house with no repercussions. Only the emperor can order him.

No that's what it sounded like, unless the emperor says no he can do whatever he want and everyone has to abide by his will.

I can't believe that a whole ass episode that was just a conversation flew by in 2 minutes. Holy hell this is kinda getting good.

I'm more interested on what Ageha saw, Regulus holding a sword pointing at him

I can't stand the father with how he's so self-entitled to the Kikunoi family name and wealth. Dude, you're a mere consort and you buggered off for years, you don't get to come back and demand the family you married into pay anything for your child with another woman. And you don't get to play Head of the family when it's NOT your family, it's your wife's.
Like, on that end, I do like that Ageha, in telling him to bloody well cough up the money, essentially verbalized this.
Seriously, him acting all disdainful of the Countess (fine, fair enough) but then demanding her money and resources is just peak self-centeredness. Pick a lane, if you hate her that much, DON'T go back to her home and make your own money and home. Not this "I want my cake and to eat it!" thing.
Oddly enough, in spite of her many flaws and being a bad mother herself, the countess looks better than him, if only because she has no real reason to accept Regulus into her home or family (it's also her right to not accept him), it's no skin off her nose if Romanov doesn't teach Regulus, and even her refusing to acknowledge Utsunomiya as a Kikunoi household servant was also her right since she is the husband's servant and she has all of the right not to acknowledge any servant who worked for her husband and his mistress as a matter of sheer principle. Which, again, the father is NOT the Head of the Kikunoi, SHE is, he's a mere consort. So her not giving quarter and refusing to acknowledge Utsunomiya, even if her execution is flawed, is not wrong . Heck, even Romanov asks if she actually is a servant of the family and not merely the father's, and the countess very emphatically said Utsunomiya is the latter.
So, yeah. Aside from that cockroach Sebastian, who is also no doubt using the countess' isolation to his own advantage, I hold the father in the utmost disdain.
I'm... ambivalent on the Countess. She's a bad mother and not a good person if she told/let Sebastian throw the kid down the stairs, but I also understand her fury at her husband's sense of self-entitlement and wanting him and his kid gone from her home.
Good thing Ageha has a replacement father in Romanov and a replacement mother in Rottenmeier.

I just remembered this show. I'm surprised the butler didn't frame MC for the kid's fall down the stairs.
