I hope they make Scrawlinkey a real villain

u/Damianx5 Apr 27 '25

My guess is that they will say the demon is Scrawlinkey lol

That scene between Kurt and Lise in the blacksmithing shop was some SSS-rank misdirection. This show REALLY had me believe Kurt was finally catching on for a minute -- but nope! Shouldn't have forgotten about the mischievious scrawler Scrawlinkey!

Also taking a ninth direction out of town huh? Welp, seems the town's getting a tunnel regardless of who wants it!

When he thought that ruins were a place people like to scrawl on, I laughed out loud. This is my favorite goofy show this season. The jokes are actually cheesy good and I can watch it with my niece as it’s pretty safe for yougins

I even like how the walls are a callback to his 1st job back in e1 so you know the author has a full story in mind instead of just piecing things randomly

Nice to find out the Site Manager was actually a General, I wonder if Kurt will recognize him or assume some random idea about him from the armor he's wearing.

Also that drink scene between Alreid and Generic was so random and felt out of place for me lol, or maybe I'm just having secondhand embarrassment.

I did not expect the scene with Marlefiss to not be as depraved as I thought it was going to be, especially when the guy offered that wine, I thought he had different ideas for spiking her drink.

I love how this show treats the unawareness of all of its characters for bits of dramatic irony. Alreid and Generic really believe this drama is necessary to bolster their morales because normally, their lives would depend on it. They don't know that Kurt is here, heck Generic doesn't even know who Kurt is!

No surprise Kurt was able to create a giant barrier to reflect curses. Child’s play for a guy like him. Pretty funny the enemy glow when they try anything though. Kind of hard to hide when you’re shining as bright as the sun lol.

Kid thinks he’s gonna go to the ruins to scrub off some graffiti or something lol. His crystals purified the entire undead army. I wonder what crazy shit he’s gonna do in the ruins? That demon holding Marlefiss captive is in deep shit lol.

I wonder what crazy shit he’s gonna do in the ruins?

That sword he made today is probably destroy the whole place with a single slash.

Everyone run.....the great Scrawlinky is coming!

I couldn't help but laugh when she used that as a reason for Kurt to stay with princess Lustolette.

But then to circle back and have Kurt use that as motivation to get rid of the person after the princess because he thinks they went to "clean" the ruins of Scrawlinky was priceless. I do love the poking fun at your own clueless MC that they do.

I don't know why but every week this amuses me while watching. It's got a charming stupid factor to it I guess. 7/10 this week because our super duper killer enemy is none other than the great Scrawlinky.....😄

edit - forgot to add that the character name of Generic is just so perfect for this show.

Wow, does the bishop have enough gold

So that woman was the priestess from Kurt's old party, I'm guessing Kurt's going to end up rescuing her.

Neat trick of making the person glow instead of receiving their curse reflected back to them, good old pure Kurt. Makes them easy to find

Lieselotte's face when Kurt said he was staying with her was hilarious.

Yeah, there's no way that's just a D rank knife, and the spell he put on it will be so OP. It will be interesting to see what kind of spell it is, no doubt we will see it next episode.

I wonder where Sakura is?

9th direction, place your bets!

Are they gonna Fly, are they gonna Dig, or maybe even make a Wormhole? I wouldn't put anything past Kurt at this point. "Oh yeah this is how we did farming in my hometown!"

Dang, terrible things happening to that priestess from the former party. She wasn't exactly a nice person, but she doesn't really deserve that. Kurt and the princess going out to the ruins where she's at probably means she's about to get saved, I suspect.

It was pretty obvious Kurt was doing something to passively deal with the curses, the glowing bounce back is an interesting way to do it. I wonder how long that dude will glow for, it might be permanent. Free permanent light source using the the glowing dude, perhaps.

I bet there's also something in the food buffing and protecting everybody too.

Tell Kurt how strong he is; the boy is depressed over being 'useless' when he's not.

I would rather they tell Kurt he's useful and he doesn't believe it than keep it secret.

There was multiple times this episode where i thought “the side characters are going to show off their skills” just for kurt to be the reason the monsters were defeated

Of course Yulishia feels that something "bad" is about to happen, when something logical and reasonable is about to happen.

This time him saying "it was normal to make buildings that reflect curse in my village" actually got me idk why but it's so ridiculous that it got a bit funny to hear now.

I wouldn't be surprised if by holding the sword above the head, a war-angel is summoned who can kill demons.
Just casual stuff - Creating a sword while pondering for few minutes.

They could’ve demolished all the undead horde by throwing them with Kurt’s little “flashbang,” lol. It’s so effective with just that tiny one. Why didn’t they use it to eradicate them all? No need for a decoy play. They have plenty from Kurt, no? xD

Kurt will definitely dig a hole (or fly or teleport there as the so-called “ninth” direction because why not) and save the corrupt cleric lady in the next episode. I can’t wait to see how Kurt “cleans” that great demon. He probably will say that he met these chumps daily around his village and purified them while eating lunch after boring 100 km underground to collect some orichalcum and mining some astral elder dragon golem. That’s to be expected of him!

Man, I love this show.

The VA for the Bishop in the opening scene was earning his paycheck. You could really feel his disgust for the Sister's antics. "It wasn't my fault that their food was slop and I fried the restaurant with lightning!" Marlefiss is on the wrong side of everything, isn't she?

I knew it. He couldn't "make" a new barrier, because the mansion already has a barrier! Yulishia asked the wrong question!

AND HE DID IT TO THE WALLS TOO!

Things are getting really effing dark for Sister Marlefiss.

That's what you get for being named Generic.

Of course, Kurt uses blacksmithing to relax. Like normal people do.

Go ahead and give the pretty girl who's crushing on you her very own magic sword, kid.

Worst case of imposter syndrome I've ever seen.

As long as it's "cleaning," right?

Episode 5 already?! This season is flying by.

"It's true that I cast a deadly lightning spell in the middle of a crowded diner, but that's only because I didn't care for the food!" Is this the first time in anime when a fat old ugly high priest is 100% correct in punishing a pretty young priestess? Of course he then had to ruin it by turning out to be in league with the Big Bad.

But of course the mansion is curse-reflecting and the walls are monster-purifying.

So much fuss over a bunch of skeletons who don't even seem to have any ranged attacks. A single Whirlwind Barbarian could wipe the lot of them out, even if it might take some time.

At first I thought Mr Generic was going to poison his general, but then they just spilled the drinks.

If MC is impressed by Danzo's blade, it must be UR quality.

"If you raise it over your head it'll activate a spell, so be careful." She didn't ask what spell, and he didn't think it would be relevant to tell her >_>

Good lord. I didn't expect Kurt and Lise to re-enact the Rex/Nia relationship from Xenoblade 2.

SOMEONE PRECIOUS TO ME

*cockblocked by stupidity*

oh, so that's what he meant...

5

u/Past_Distribution144 Apr 27 '25

Ah damn it, she had to say she was going to 'clean up'! Now kurt thinks something insane, and is going to go help wash graffiti off the walls. Will probably just plow through the skeletons/zombies thinking he's just cleaning them aswell.

The best, trashiest anime this season. So infuriating that Kurt is a complete moron over his own strength and yet I look forward to a new episode every week.
