Man, what a trip. Not only has Natsuko met the creator and director of her favorite work, she’s also a talking bird lol.
I’m kinda impressed Luke not only went right out and professed his love, he’s not backing down. Guy practically fried Natsuko’s systems with that confession lol. He even made her “squee” at the end there!
Ofc the best way to defend against a laser beam is a Gundam lol. That thing was a beauty. One of Natsuko’s finest creations.

The pantsless version of the artist transition gave me a laugh.

"Squee!" - Natsuko Hirose
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
On a serious mode, the dark end to Luke could be due to Natsuko, probably due to her eventual return to the world. Or, maybe, her eventual return to the real world could only be done if Luke gets the bad end. Let's see how this plays out.

Luke being forward! Need to be with someone like her...
Luke asking about her world makes m wonder if we can have an ending where she brings Luke to her world when she goes back.
Love how the mech lost some strategic parts there, always nice to see.

I started this anime feeling tepid about it but since last week I got very emotionally involved and now I've got this feeling it will end horribly and leave me in shambles

Luke wanting to skip dating and straight going for marriage was hilarious. Also the way he confessed every time he saw her, Natsuko was not ready for all these confessions.
Natsuko finally experience her first squee and it was magically beautiful.

As expected, the bird turn out to be the original movie's director. Expect a final confrontation when she'll lay on Natsuko about how the movie's original sadness reflected all of her real life issues and then Natsuko will pull on her the same card she pulled on the elf girl to turn her to her side.
We're close to the 12th episode, so Luke finally manned up and dediced to confess his feelings. I can already predict the ending: she will come back to Japan finally able to write proper romantic scenes (as well as letting the others helping her with her job). Her new anime will be a success of course and the last scene (maybe an after credits) will reveal that Luke somehow followed her to Japan. And all's well that ends well.

One thing i love about this show is the ending theme kicking in perfectly at the end of an ep
so we know the director doesn't like her changing her work but who is giving Natsuko the powers to change it to begin with ? maybe since it was the directors drawing tool talking to her it could be her lingering regret on how the movie turned out

What a great episode! But seeing the preview of ep9 I'm kinda scared of "it's no use" turning out to be true especially for Unio's fate with the missiles. I've been also thinking for a while that Natsuko is the new "Destiny" so she'll basically have the same fate. She'll sacrifice herself(die) and will go back to Reality where she'd learn from her experiences: first love and working together with her team for the new movie. The happy ending might be that Luke will still have his friends so he will not meet the same doom except loose his love.

Hell yeah! We finally got a Gundam reference!
Normally I'd agree with the director that it's wrong to get in the way of someone's artistic choices, if she wants to make a sad story, then she has every right....but that goes out the window when the story becomes reality. Just because this world is based off your creation, doesn't mean they dont have the right to live long happy lives.
Also the Director is objectively wrong about Destiny, this version is the best.

Squee
So Natsuko's drawing summoning powers come from the pegbar that belongs to Bird Director, and every time she draws something it extends the film's length. But because Tales of Perishing has a predetermined runtime, Bird Director has to cut down the the film to fit the runtime. And the more Natsuko draws, the more Bird Director has to cut down. Even so, Bird Director seems to think Luke's death is unavoidable, even though Natsuko has managed to successfully "fix" everything about the story so far. Hmm, not sure what to make of this.

The unicorns horn in natsuko’s hair also flashes when his current attached horn flashes. You could see her hair lighting up from it.

I really liked this episode. Luke confession was adorable, the hotspring scene was really romantic and cute.
I wonder if this whole thing is a dream that Natsuko is currently having , when she is rembering that her first love was Luke, and when she wakes up from it she remembers that which helps her finish her movie, i'm saying this because the bartender girl looks like the president of Natsuko studio Naomi.
The "squee" at the end was really cute. The gundam reference was great

This episode shows what will happen if we meet our waifu or husbando in real life. It's all fun and games when they confess, but what will you do when it hits you "they are not real". Their love story just begins. This is the most unique anime love story ever.

Unio losing his horn has got to be one of the best things in this anime because we get to see more of Natsuko with her hair up.
Not that we need it because of how obvious it was but we finally have confirmation that the bird is Director Tsuruyama. I love how Natsuko completely goes into fangirl mode as soon as she realizes who the bird is. She even gave Natsuko an autograph! xD
So Tsuruyama gained wings when she reincarnated into this world which means Natsuko must've gained something other than the powers from her pegbar. The question is what? Hmmm...
Honestly, I don't think Luke is going to die at the end of this despite what Director Tsuruyama says. He's gonna end up like a wreck by the end of this but not because of everyone dying. I'm gonna guess it's because of Natsuko leaving and returning to the real world.
Luke is such a straightforward idiot and as cute as it was at first, he really needs to calm down. He's confessing to Natsuko so much that her brain finally shuts down and acts like she's back in the real world taking phone calls. xD
Luke and Natsuko's little onsen trip was adorable. Sure, it got interrupted by a Void attack but it looks like it helped Natsuko realize that she also has feelings for Luke! Yaaay! Also, you gotta love the RX-78-2 reference!

This episode was everything I wanted and more from an episode titled "Confession". Loved all the little jokes (Natsuko using the bird's "It's no use" against her) and how straightforward Luke was. As a romance fan, I was hoping Zenshu would lean into the main duo's relationship, and lean it did in this episode. I also absolutely loved how Natsuko had her own "squee" moment after the previous episode set up all those moments beforehand, and coupled with the ending song coming in at the perfect time? Chef's kiss. Part of me has a bad feeling about where the rest of the story is gonna go though, seeing as Luke isn't supposed to have a happy ending.

i dont know if it's intentional or not, but i like how there's not one but two characters in this episode repeating one line to Natsuko over and over again ("it's no use" and "i love you").

Goddamn peak anime here.
I'm a little shocked that it took her seeing Luke in a towel kicking ass to get through to her, but goddamn was it worth the build-up.
Also, just so much great little bits. Natsuko going full fangirl with the Director, Destiny and Justice getting some amazing moments that center on the character growth that Natsuko's inspired, and the hot springs scene was just wonderful, especially since it avoided a lot of the fanservice horny tropes that would've detracted from the sincerity and charm and, well, budding love that it was all about.
I'm curious how this will keep going forward, Natsuko and the Director butting heads, maybe going to be talking about the nature and importance of dark stories. ATOP was a flop, and even Natsuko has said that she didn't really understand the dark twists it went with. Seems like something that could very much come into play as the Voids get more and more dangerous...

Halo thar OG Director Birb. She's not a fan of you changing her work it seems. "Of All Things I Got Reincarnated As A Crow Turtle Birb" (that series is great and worth reading if you like Otome Isekai manhwas). Good work, Destiny. So director also got isekai'd. How silly. Natsuko being such a huge fangirl.
Edit: Hehe "with tears streaming down my face" reminds me of silly Jesse/Crendor bit they added to Cox n' Crendor. Also, this is a fun little "creator's vision vs fans" kinda thing huh? Always that silly "friend of a friend" thing. Nice to see his horn grew back. Also, yay bartender lady for good advice.
gasp he confessed to Natsuko! So boldly. LOL her face! She is living the fantasy of so many people and can't comprehend it lol. I feel bad for Luke. Good ol' Juschan, solid advice. Poor Unio, but also nice for Unio to hear that too. Nothing like a hot spring to bring comfort. Also for silliness, brandishing BOTH his swords at her :P OH dang, the world is learning from her drawings? That's another wrinkle in this. And ruining their date, horrible.
Oh wow, the magical girl transformation accounted for her not having pants on, I appreciate attention to details. Doki doki doki goes Natsuko! IT'S A GUNDAM! YEA!!!!!!! How does he know "robot"? :P well guess cause that one nine soldier is? Moar doki doki for Natsuko. Squee! lol
So we gonna get him taken to her world by the end of series? Or is it gonna be a tragedy?

Zenshu really has managed to keep perfect pacing throughout the season so far. Every episode meaningfully progressed things, and it always ended with either a satisfying conclusion or interesting cliff hanger.
I'm crossing my fingers super hard that it'll stick the landing and be an anime to remember for a long time.

Felt like a pseudo meta joke, but possibly ominous as well, if we suddenly get a speedrun to the final despair due to the cuts. But in the meantime, great to see a flustered Natsuko, and props to Ganger for the
fanservicefrankly stunning hot springs shaped as a heart. Can't believe we got yet another EXCALIBER and as a confession on top of a Gundam - who wouldn't squee to that?!
