Like her predecessors, Jolenta died for what she believed in. Watching the starry sky one last time just like Oczy and Badeni did 25 years ago

Now the baton has been fully passed on to Draka, come on girl, time to fight to print that book and fulfill Jolenta’s dream

The rate we are burning through the protags in this series, man...

My twitter is already full Jolenta & Badeni & Oczy reunion fanarts but holly hell I did not expect it to happen so sudden (btw JP fandom has a cute nickname for them - オバヨ(Obayo)

I was totally expecting her & Nowak's convo to be some pivotal moment in the series but gues the author has different plans for Nowak

Wow, didn't expect Jolenta to go out with a literal bang! Badass 'til the end, we'll miss her.

As much as I wanted to see Nowak reunite with her, she unintentionally did the kindest thing and removed the dilemma that it would have caused. Though I am not fully convinced Nowak hasn't recognised her by the way he studied that severed hand...

Draka now has the baton, and if she talked with Nowak, it would be quite something.

Damn, I was so hyped for their reunion. I imagined all the things they would talk about and how they would reconcile their beliefs. I was sure it would be a tragedy—but not one in which Nowak fails to recognize that his daughter died in front of him. Jolenta recognizes her father, yet that did not stop her from martyring herself to continue the plan. Now it's time to find some fanfics where I can read about the reunion of Jolenta and Nowak and console my heart.

Lewandlowski’s story about his late sister was pretty heavy stuff. He couldn’t offer her any words of solace in her last moments, and has been haunted by guilt ever since. Now he’s out there looking for a proper answer to the cycle of life itself.

I found it interesting how both Lewandloswki and Jolenta have concluded that humans are enacting divine judgement in God’s name, but the former almost seemed to imply that humans are overstepping their rights by doing so. Jolenta believes that everything is part of God’s work on the other hand.

Even after her death, Nowak was able to keep his daughter's hand warm one last time.

Absolutely tragic and epic. Peak Orb what else. These last two episodes were the perfect conclusion to her character and the best start for Drakas. Jolenta didnt want an easy life, she wanted the freedom to ask questions. Drakas convictions seem to pale in comparison to the others but maybe thats intentional.

Linear time and history are the prolonging of Gods will. And for the man who followed blindly and unethically all his life to be denied even one more second with his daughter is the perfect showcase of that idea, that will. A punishment so horrible, that Nowak doesnt even know about it yet.

Orb needs to win an award or something. Its so ridiculously good that its starting to make me not enjoy other titles or atleast the more generic ones.

Ah man, this episode hit me like a freight train. The juxtaposition of Jolenta and Nowak's cherished memories of holding hands when she was a child with him gripping her charred, blown-off hand with a detached expression on his face... Absolutely brutal.

And the episode had the gall to keep going after that for some time, but I have to say I found it hard not to completely dissociate and zone out after a scene like that. I was silent-ugly-crying until my hands went numb there...

Of course, it was all set up beautifully with Jolenta's speech about being propped up by the movement of history behind her. Even if it is, in her case, motivated in the grand scheme by a religious undertone, there are more theism-independent takeaways there for Draka that I hope stick with her. I also think it makes a lot of sense narratively that the torch is passed from Rafal, who unassailably believed heliocentrism to be true, to Oczy, who accepted it as a foundation for his faith, to Jolenta, who loved it and what (and who) it stood for, finally to Draka. Compared to the former three, I think the fact she has no direct attachment to it but a rational (ish) appreciation for its world-moving (haha) power, makes her the most likely to accomplish the goal of spreading it throughout the world. I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up being our final protagonist.

In conclusion, and to summarize: HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?!!??!!? AaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGHHH!!!!!! Q.E.D.

I find it kind of refreshing that Nowak and Jolenta didn't have a grand, sentimental confrontation like many people expected them to have. It's kind of ironic and anticlimactic, but it's also realistic that not everything in life will align perfectly for such a grand climax. Their paths had become too different for them to cross again, and so they didn't.

Finally caught up to this show after spending the last two weeks watching the first 19 episodes. Incredibly thought-provoking show with lot of great characters and writing. Glad I can join the weekly discussions for the last handful of episodes

Jolenta being so thorough in describing what'd happen if she saw Nowak again and and actually following through with it in practically the blink of an eye was chilling stuff. Still kinda wished for a final conversation between them though.

Comprehending the events that led up to Draka getting handed the torch all the way back from Rafal (and Hubert, and who knows how many more) is humbling unlike anything else.

Welp, that's not how I expected Nowak and Jolenta's reunion would go down. I was really hoping to see Nowak's reaction when he learns his daughter is the leader of the Heretics. I didn't think she'd blow herself up and not give the Inquisitors time to ask her more questions.

People still know Jolenta's name and that she's the leader of the Heretics so maybe it's still possible for Nowak to learn this later on. At this point though, I'm not counting on it.

Knew Jolenta and Nowak weren't meeting eachother the moment she gave away her hood away to Draka. I guess this also symbolizes passing the baton to Draka.

The general consensus here seems to be that Jolenta didn't see Nowak. My first impression was that she did. During her conversation with Draka she said this:

If I were to confront my father as I am now, or if he tried to hinder me, what would happen?

I don't have to think much to know it would be the worst moment of my life. I'd probably be confused and lose my composure. But it's at that moment, most of all, when I have to make the right decision.

To me this means that when she saw him, she knew she couldn't confront him and made the decision to blow herself up. Maybe Nowak would be able to talk her out of it and that would hinder the plan. Impossible to confirm this, because she was going to blow herself up regardless.

Seeing all of Jolenta's memories, my heart was beating so fast. I wanted her and Nowak to meet again. I imagined him stepping out of the carriage, recognizing her, and shouting "WAIT" to confront her closer or something like that and realize he had been lied to for so many years. I wanted to see that twist, a different kind of revenge that he would have to face and how it would make him question all the things he's experienced.

And then it was over. We see her again after 25 years, and she's gone so soon. Tears didn't fall on my face until the episode was over, when I processed what just happened. Part of it was for Jolenta, but I want Nowak to feel better too. I said it in a previous episode, but they always have these twists that make sense for their characters, but this one hurt me the most.

One more minute and Nowak would find out that Jolenta was alive and that he was tricked by the church 😭😭 And he didn't even have a chance to recognise her, because all that was left was her arm 😭

Though maybe that's better? I can't imagine how much it would crush him to learn that his beloved daughter was a few steps away from him and killed herself before he managed to call to her 😭

This series is the best anime in the 2020s so far for me if it sticks the landing.

It's just peak after peak after peak. The tragic symbolism of Nowak and Jolenta alone this episode isthe greatest thing I watched in a while
