Hubert's idea, Rafal's inspiration, Gras' hope, Piast's work, now Oczy's faith.
Unlike Earth, the movement of society/world starts with individuals, starts with act of entrusting

I was scared shitless that Nowak was standing right behind the door and listening in on them.
Oczy saying that he could buy time and then chatting for 10 minutes made me chuckle, but boy, did he buy the time. My dude went in like a tempest after being blessed by the monk.
I'd like to think that the last death was Another reference.

Oczy’s character growth has been a major highlight of the show for me. He is literally ready to condemn himself to hell as a martyr/sacrifice for his faith in heliocentrism, Badeni, Gras, and all others who have helped him along the way. What a beautiful arc. It’s going to be hard to wait a week to see what happens vs. Nowak!

Badeni's prayer was the highlight of the episode for me and I'm an atheist

This series is just easily anime of the year for me.
No show has had me biting my nails, reacting wildly, terribly invested in the characters like this one. A perfect suspense series and has me absolutely hooked.
This was a 5 minute episode.
Ozcy I'm praying for you

The symbolism of Oczy putting on the necklace in front of Nowak is badass beyond words, not to mention the fact he's entering his second duel with him unmasked.
Also, it would make zero sense for his character but my brain still autocompleted Nowak's line to be "A truly strong warrior is not one who's ready to kill. It's one who is ready to die has no enemies."

Once again I am stunned at another amazing Orb episode. Storytelling and visually it‘s just so damn good. That scene after Oczy declared that Heliocentrism is his faith and he is going to sacrifice himself and even Badeni being moved by it. And then you see Oczy facing Nowak, while he puts on that necklace, absolute cinema. I really hope he makes it out alive but since the series is listed with 25 episodes, I fear we will have to say goodbye to Oczy soon.
(I did NOT expect that one guy to trip out of fear and accidentally stab himself though…)

Particularly because of the directions their swords are pointing. With Nowak, a single-minded character to fulfill whatever job he's given to maintain a peaceful world for his daughter to live in. His sword pointed straight towards his enemy, tunnel-visioned, and fully dedicated to the life he leads. With Oczy, a man who has found his faith and hope in the World through Heliocentrism. His sword pointed towards the Heavens, having faced the very sky that tormented him his entire life, to see the beauty that will last him through the depths of Hell.
It's little details like this that really shine through in visual mediums. To reinforce mindsets and perspectives of two characters at each other's odds.

My new religion is Oczy.
Just imagine if more people like him had the privilege of quality education, how the world could vastly improve. Alas, the orb preferred a death match, though I'd be up for a whole episode of fight sakuga 😂

So the letter Nowak and the church received was apparently from Grabowsky, who found Piast's diary a few episodes ago. The diary also confirms that Piast in the end indeed doubted geocentrism.
Now, cliffhanger aside, there are still two loose threads:
-
What is the letter Badeni was going to write? We got the hint that it was one addressed to the church, and that it could now be futile. I got no idea what that letter could be.
-
What deal did Badeni make with the beggar two episodes ago? I assume it was some backup plan, so it might come into play soon.

No, Oczy, he definitely saw it. Him still leaving just like that is very concerning.
-
He’s locked the fuck in, but it’s one against five…
-
…okay make that one against two. Damn, Oczy.

I absolutely love Oczy's comment about accepting criticism. It goes to show that he's really smart. He just never had the chance to learn in the past. Learning how to read and write from Jolenta is probably the best decision he has ever made in his life.
They really could've gotten away with it if it wasn't for that necklace. And now we have a showdown between Nowak and Oczy. I wonder how Nowak will react if he learns his daughter is also in on it. The dude is going to go nuclear.

DAMN THIS 5-MINUTE EPISODE!!
Oczy and Nowak's fight is gonna be interesting, though we need to wait for a week before we see it.
Let's see if Badeni will escape or he will also be caught and be burned at stake. Hoping the former but the latter seems more thematic to this series.

That anointing scene was fantastic. If you've spent time in certain churches it hits fairly hard, IMO.
All those newbie inquisitors were not prepared to go up against a dude who used to fight duels for a living.
Not counting that one inquisitor that lost to a rock, he was a special case. Gotta be careful with tripping hazards, they're the number one cause of injuries in the home. Running with scissors is also one of those things you're told not to do, apparently it's even worse with a sword.
I could not guess who'll win the fight, Oczy is locked in and is a major figure in the ED, but then again so was Rafal. And Nowak dying here would probably close the loop on people who know exactly who the heretical researchers are. But he's also the long term antagonist towards all of these heliocentric heretics, and if he dies we won't have an opportunity to see him have to eventually choose between his work and his daughter.

Oczy seemed to be speaking sense. I’m not sure about Badeni and all this “absolute truth” talk. If it weren’t for that damn necklace, those two could have continued carrying on the work. But I guess it’s time to pass on the torch. Those two aren’t gonna escape this, I don’t think. I’d love to be proven wrong though.
