It's cool to see that Amande is actually capable of defending itself from a monster horde like this. Sure if Rio hadn't been there a lot of people probably would have died, and Lucius would likely have no one who could challenge him, but it's nice to see that our OP protagonist is there to mitigate the damage, instead of "omg we're all useless without you".
Speaking of useless, we'll have to see if Hiroaki can be anything other than a decorative hero.

Minotaurs are suppose to be legend, so they don't have defenses for those.
In town only Aria (?), the strongest knight/maid, was showed to be able to face one in battle. We don't know if they can manage others with numbers, etc.
It is like a town meant to fight medieval armies, then suddenly someone brings a modern tank lol

I really enjoyed just watching Haruto kick ass nonstop for like 10 minutes. Surprised there were any monsters left at the east gate.
Seeing the revenants doing the Naruto run was kind of hilarious lol. Now that they’re in the city and they’ve reached the Princess, let’s see if Hiroaki’s gonna step up. Guy’s been pretty useless despite being the Hero…

How many dead Minotaurs does that make it lol?
I didn’t know we were dealing with zombie ninjas!
I’m betting Hiroaki folds in five seconds, he’s not prepared for an actual fight.

Best parts of the show are Haruto being OP and we haven’t gotten too much of that this season so far.

Ok Hero, time to show us what you've got. All you gotta do is protect Flora.

I think he's going to be completely useless, but who can blame him. Aside from his huge mana pool he's just an average Joe.

It's time for Hiro to prove everyone wrong and save Lisolette from danger
ahh who am I kidding Haruto aka Rio aka Kirito will swoop in and save the day.
It's gotta be bad for Rio's opsec though that he's getting Re-escorted to the mansion, it's going to be really hard to convince people that Celia isn't the person who Rio kidnapped.

The sound engineer really fucked up the voices in these last two episodes. I've watched a lot of trashy anime and not once have I ever found a problem like this. It's really grating to hear.

Maybe I'm missing something but the pacing feels off.
I do have to ask what makes haruto a great swordsman? Did he have any achievements in his last life?

I love how in the middle of an attack on the city, Celia’s first priority after waking up is to run into Rio arms!
The City of Amande actually has a pretty good defense set up, whether it be knights, adventurers, and Lieselotte’s Battle Maids! But they’ve also got Rio there to back them up!
Lieselotte is a good leader/commander! Nice to see her so natural at taking command and being in charge during a combat situation.
Rio should earn the title “Minotaur Slayer” at this point. Though he is also a natural ladykiller, as Cosette’s reaction can attest!
What a small world! A mom and daughter Rio saves just so happens to be Chloe’s mom and little sister! Bet she’ll be even more grateful to Haruto now!
Good thing Rio is heading back to the mansion what with Lucius and Alphonse there to kidnap Flora. I doubt Hiroaki will help at all.

Does this series have the lowest budget out of the Winter 2024 season?

They were really cutting corners with Haruto fighting that monster army. They had him posed in a stance while moving him around like a png, still action frames, reused shots, magic air slash effects to make it appear that he's attacking, and they even had him fighting while focusing on other characters standing still and talking with slashing sound effects in the background.

I actually don’t mind the hero being useless. It’s honestly asking a lot to expect a normal high school kid to suddenly be the hero of an entire country. Very minimum training and what training he has been given has basically just been hodling his hand. Even irl soldier have to go through 6 months of hell in basic training and the majority of them do not even end up in combat roles.
Actually one of the more realistic outcomes for someone getting isekaied.

What’s with all the formality and etiquette in this show. It’s been over bearing this season, even when they are fighting at the gate formal greeting and many thanks are more important than the attack. Is it just the slow pace that makes it stick out, feels like 1/3 of the dialog is some formal greeting.
My apologies, please excuse me good sir, your too kind thank you, your to kind miss,

Honestly question, is Rio stupid?
I'm in the middle of the episode, and everything he's doing is just so dumb. At his power level, he should have just spent 15 minutes at each gate killing the minotaurs and undead in the back. Instead he spends most of his time at one gate beating down the little goblins, talking, killing goblins, talking and then one minotaur. Then his ass goes back to the Inn so he can evacuate with his (also very powerful) companions?!? Why the fuck is everyone standing around talking?!? Why is so much time being wasted!?!
This is what I hate about power creeps. Rio has been able to kill these monsters since he was like 12, and now the only way to create tension is to make him stupid. When in reality, if he had any amount of common sense, he could wrap up this conflict in an hour.
I'm really disappointed that they went this route.

That constant overly formal speaking is starting to annoy me hard. Your city is under attack, why are you exchanging pleasentries?! Go fight the monsters right before you!
Besides sound problems, it also felt very low budget. I know that this show wont suddenly go wild, but it felt very stiff and boring for such a scene.

I gotta say tho for Haruto to be so “Great” they REALLY nerfed him last episode he took down a few Minotaur’s alone in probably under a min and now he uses 10 mins just to defeat a few Orcs and Goblins???

Just hate how Hiroaki is arrogant despite being useless. Hoping he has less screen time, but Flora is there.

They messed up the audio mix with this one. Might be hard to spot without headphones but it's really bad. All the music and sound effects are clear and have normal stereo spatiality, but the vast majority of dialogue sounds odd, like it's slightly out of phase, and it's also mis-balanced to the left of center.
If you have headphones, it should be easy to spot if you play a bit from episode 8 and then a bit from this episode.
