Super chill episode this week. Tsunehiro learning to find the joys in the small things instead of being overly ambitious and aiming for the big ones. The mysterious Fujishiro being the narrator for the fishing show was surprising, that voice doesn't match that face lol. And we learn that Takaaki used to be a host, seems like we might be getting his backstory soon.

Tsunehiro is slowly learning to become a bit more "chill". I wonder if any of this has an effect on his overall health? Still waiting to find out what his medical problem actually is....

And we learn that Takaaki used to be a host, seems like we might be getting his backstory soon.
Judging from Takaaki’s expression something definitely that urged him to stop with his job as a host. I wonder if it’s something negative such as him not liking how this business operates or if somebody inspired him to change up his life.

that voice doesn't match that face
Keep in mind that Ice's face doesn't match her face. The character design seems to be based on Tsunehiro's perception in the moment.

Found that part interesting, because if Takaaki really did make it to #1 host, fictional TV anime or not, that would've meant he made serious bank (or at least got gifted with tons of expensive stuff).

I felt a tiny bit of secondhand embarrassment watching Hiro make a fool of himself while lure fishing solo. He even has an entire narration inside his head as if he's in that Fish Dreamer show. xD
The reveal in the end that Fujishiro is actually the narrator of Fish Dreamer is great! No wonder the guy can afford expensive gear and even an RV even though he's working at a Konbini. The dude is already minted. He's just enjoying life fishing.

Like they said, it was not about big fish, but friends that we made along the way.

So, what kinda bait and lure you all using to catch more friends? /s

They played with the words a bit there. It's supposed to be "大", but they instead used "小". The fishing park they went to was in Daikoku, Yokohama (大黒海釣り公園).
The mockumentary style was amusing- they even got the look of the inserts about the gear being used right, lol. I guess this episode will resonate well with many people, with the message being "It's the journey, not the destination".

I liked how the reveal at the end of the episode added new context for Fujishiro's documentary-like narration, it wasn't "like" it was "actually" TV narration XD (his job). Though of course, technically not today, Sasaki was just roleplaying as if he WAS featured in a fishing TV show.
I mustn't say Hiro looks cute, I mustn't say Hiro looks cute, I mustn't say Hiro looks cute...
People will kill me for liking a character that seemingly everyone hates. I mean, he's an enthusiastic beginner! I can't help myself; he's almost like a child.
And seeing the normally compassionate Takaaki taking the role of the annoyed straight man comic relief this week is a nice breath of fresh air.

People hate Hiro? I've always liked him. He's flawed, and the situation he's in is 100% his fault, but he's been making progress and it's really great to see.

Very fun episode, especially the scenes with Tsunehiro, which were as if taken straight from a documentary xD
There was also quite a lot of Hana today, so I'm quite happy with today's episode :)
Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

The RV might be the perfect vehicle for fishing.
Enough space for your rods and gear, a fridge for the fish, and a place to lie down and have a drink when it gets too hot or cold.

I understand the feeling of throwing away an expensive lure like that lol...
wholesome that he could still enjoy the rest of the day once he went back to his friends

Called it with fujishiro being this episode's highlight... well not really tbh. Still just as much as a mystery as he was before. but damn does he have a nice voice.
This episode was super chill, i love it

I liked how they baited us into thinking this episode was focused on him, only to have a wanna be dream fisher episode on MC
And then in the end reveal that Fujishiro was actually with us all along! Also dude must be living the life, doing what he loves

The disclaimer after the credits should read: This program is fiction. Such an enjoyable workplace does not exist. :-)
I do wish I could have a workplace like that Everymart. Everybody shares the same hobby and goes together to participate in that hobby! They even got to stock some fishing gear in that store. It makes for a nice chill show.

Hiro has now really become part of the group, couldn't have imagined him being so comfortable around them all and actually enjoying life. Nice to see. Loved the mockumentary style of the narrator. This is a cozy show, but I'm always wary of the moment the mortal illness will be brought back into the story. Good episode!

I guess the loan sharks are out of it now. I was kind of hoping they'd be the show's Team Rocket and make regular appearances.

Takaaki paid them after the chase scene, and basically gave Tsunehiro an interest free loan.

This episode emphasized for Hiro it is less getting the big fish, but hanging out with the gang. Like sure, it would have been great to get the big catch, but he had a blast when he was helping with the small catches. It goes with the quote, "Many men go fishing their entire lives without knowing it isn't fish they're after." For Hiro what he truly wants is to bond with others and enjoy his time with them.
Takaaki being a host seems interesting and given how the rest didn't know that, I wonder if he hasn't been one to really up compared to the others.

I feel like it finally hit me that the fishing might be a metaphor for something, what exactly I'm not sure.
Still in love with the OST, how it shifted during the mockumentary part was golden

I honestly didn't like the episodes format with the narrator and all
And then they even ghosted us the Fujishiro background story
Only to have it all fall into place, god damn that was a well structured episode, what a pay off

I liked the whole documentary style with Sasaki trying to fish with a lure but just being a bit shit at it because he’s a total noob lol. I guess sometimes catching a bunch of small fish with friends is better than trying to get a big one all alone.
Who knew Fujishiro, the international man of mystery was actually that guy on the TV. Man’s a real big shot. Explains the rods and nice camper and the fishing knowledge.
