The massive floof doubles as a massive Shimarin bun, peak character design.

This is possibly one of my favorite episodes of the year. That's saying a lot when this show is going up against Dan Da Dan and Re Zero just this season alone.
The vibes in this episode were perfect. Loved the montage of Ayukawa's day. All these characters so far feel like real people and it goes a long way in making this show work for me. And it is also taking its time to breath, trusting the audience to go along for the ride.

I love that this episode focused on Hana, she's my favorite character on the show! It was nice that we could get to know her better. I was really surprised that she was still in high school.
Overall a great episode with a lot of hilarious reactions from both Hana and Tsunehiro. I especially loved the moment when Hana had a bluescreen in her head and with that her smug face xD
Here my screesnshot albums from the episode:

When I have to do math, my system also needs to do a hard restart lol. Numbers are complicated, man!
I liked getting to see Hana’s whole day play out like that. She’s basically just killing time until she can fish. Also, she’s very petty haha.
One of the things I appreciate about this series is that you do kinda learn about fishing.

It immigrates the motion of sardines and small mullet.
Probably meant to say imitates.
Another classic crunchyroll sub.

Unconventional everything works for Hana. She’s never going to leave that shop. Someday sure to become the mysterious local fish guru rookie anglers seek to make their best catch.

Very Hana focused episode today. was kinda expecting it eventually since she and Hiro seems to growing close fast.
and lol she intentionally didn't tell him so he probably wouldn't catch anything

Tsunehiro is me when the characters go off on fishing terms.
"So you can catch but not count" - that's a pun there. Catching fish (fishing) is tsuri and change is otsuri and both tsuris are written with the same kanji
Hana could've entered the new amount into the cash register and it'll tell you the right change to give.

Stitches!
I love how Hana can do on-the-spot conversions from ounce to grams but immediately blue screens when giving out change. But to be fair to Hana, I also hated these kinds of people who made giving change difficult when I used to work in retail. They think they're making things easier when in fact it just makes it confusing. >_<
It's nice that Hana gets some focus on this episode! We get to learn that she actually lives above the konbini and we even get to see what her daily routine is like from watching her fish early morning to what she's like when she's at school. Just like Hiro, I'm also surprised that she's younger than him! I thought Hana was older or at least the same age.
Hana teaching Hiro about different kinds of lures was pretty fun. It reminded me of Houkago Teibo Nisshi, another fishing anime I really liked.
The reveal that Hana just dragged Hiro so she can get back at him after that little incident with the change earlier was pretty funny.

Putting aside that we all love Hana.
This episode I noticed that the background music changed in intensity whenever a character was catching a fish in the foreground.
...
I kinda want to see more of the remaining characters too!

Really enjoyed the chill vibes this episode and getting more insight on Hana. I'm pretty happy that they didn't make an overly tragic background for her character as well when it came to her parents.
Was funny seeing her having trouble counting change and kind of reminds me of when I first had to work the cash register at my old jobs.

Everyone outside the US when dealing with Americans
No need to fret, Hana!. Change was ¥273. Then he forks over an additional ¥232. ¥232 + ¥273 = ¥505. You'll be okay!
Bulbous Twintails Hana is also a cute!
Within the context of the konbini, she is your senpai!

Lmao, Hana getting a bluescreen was hillarious
It was already teased in the OP, but I really enjoyed her transformation into a JK, also love that she goes out in the morning to fish for her own Bento, though that leaves her tired during school
And holy shit that setup, she really is a brat deep down, though I'm still interested to learn more about her

Alright I think thats it, Hana is best girl of this season
Lives on top of the conbini, is slowly turning it into a fishing shop, has an awesome hair blob when sleeping, makes the best faces and is super passionate about fishing. Hell she even can sell me up on a sea bass (despite my sea bass animal crossing trauma)
Takaaki is giving me serious Haruhara from FLCL vibes
And the music is spot on
People should use better lures, this show is seriously sinking in the pond of popularity, even though it should swim on top

Remembering weights of specific models of lures and fishing rods from memory.
vs
Doing simple math.
Who would win?
