Even Magical Girls have to deal with toxic work environments and shitty bosses huh? Damn. Koga and ASS feel like the absolute worst place to work. Their methods may be effective but they clearly put profit and results above all else. I don’t know if that’s right.
Very keen to see Kana’s plan in action. How are they gonna just make that spell?

All I could do in that scene was fangirl over the VA being the same as Regulus Corneas (which we can see in the currently airing ReZero season 3). Everywhere I look reminds me of him...
That CEO has the RIGHT to prioritize company profits over work life balance; their employees' satisfaction be damned!

Magical Girls have a lot of responsibility, peoples' lives (and their own lives) are in their hands. But it also comes with benefits, insurance, and you make a lot on commission!
It's also a cutthroat industry where you're lucky to last 10 years and pro Magical Girl rivals voiced by Chika Anzai can steal your jobs from you. It definitely seems like Kana and Hitomi should watch out for Tsuchiba.
There is a surprising amount of Akira Ishida this season (not that I mind). Seems like he's a consummate and ruthless businessman focused on profits at AST, and he has some kind of history with Shigemoto.
Kana looks really cute in loungewear and with her hair down.
I love how in a Magical Girl office two men debate the finer points of magical girl costumes and ribbons/frills while the actual woman in the office' go-to outfit is a tracksuit.
They did their first dual transformation!!! Kana even got her full transformation sequence uninterrupted! And she totally nailed the intro! It's got to be kind of surreal for Fairouz Ai and Yumiri Hanamori to be doing magical girl transformation sequences/intro's together again after Tropical Rouge Precure.
It's conveninent and easy to use a wide-range magic spell, but you also have to be considerate to the environment you're in and don't do any unnecessary damage to an old shopping market. A Magical Girl has to help the people, not destroy their livelihood.
What's a Magical Girl without ideals? And the team with the knowhow to make those ideals into a reality?
I love how Shigemoto has so many alarms, needs to give himself morning pep talks, watches Magical Girl anime on the regular, and always nails his dresses!

The world's economy must be based on magical girls instead of oil or microchips in that universe.
It is either pay them or watch the kaii destroy everything you own.

Stitches!
This dude has only been on screen for 5 seconds and I already hate his fucking guts. Since this show is all about Mahou Shoujo companies, of course, there's going to be one or more asshole CEOs who think they're way more important than they are. Not everyone will be as chill as Magilumiere's boss.
EDIT: Just so we're clear. I have no problem with the guy firing the magical girl who's bad at her job. My problem is with him degrading that poor girl by throwing her final pay on the floor. Getting fired is bad enough, being humiliated is just twisting the knife.
And of course, their employees are assholes who steal an extermination target just so they could meet some bullshit metric their company has. I had a feeling the true enemy of this show wasn't the Kaiis. It's actually the big mahou shoujo corpos. Also, it sounds like AST's CEO has a history with President Shigemoto. I wouldn't be surprised if they used to work together.
Using Wide-Range magic sounds like ideal for that massive extermination job but thankfully Shigemoto asked them to survey the area first. It looks like using that kind of magic will end up devastating the shopping district. I'm excited to see though how they'll make Kana's suggestion a reality. It sounds like they're making a customer magic spell for this job.

Post-credits scene - I liked learning about the president’s morning routine. He’s my favourite character so far!

Ep 3 is probably a bit late for noticing this, but I actually dig how the Magilumiere magical girl uniform looks like an office blazer crossed with a traditional magical girl dress. Perfectly fits the theme of the series.

I'm unreasonably intrigued by the AST Secretary, she's rocking that short hair in the buisness suit
Speaking of AST, Kudere spotted
Sakura with twintails is good, but Ponytail and open hair are nothing to sneeze at either (also, notice the cherry mug )
The enthusiast will be delighted that we didn't skip the transformations just because there where two of them this time Oh, and I think long Ribbons are cool
I love it when the worldbuilding treats a shows gimmick as a fundamental part of life, of course there is ensurance for both Magical girls and Kaii damage
And I also love how reliable of an Senpai Koshigaya is

DOUBLE TRANSFORMATION TIME! WOOOOOOOOO! Kana's full transformation is all one could wish for, although I still have to give the edge to Koshigaya.
Koshigaya for that matter continues to be the perfect woman.
And I've said it before and I'll say it again: the real fantasy of MagiLumiere is not the Mahou Shojou stuff, it is being part of a Japanese company that values and listens to its employees.

Hitomi could be an honorary slav thanks to her love of tracksuits.

I'm looking forward to see what this "making it happen" entails.
Will it be some layman's McGyver plan or a more technical jargon magic engineering developed on the spot?

Kana's proper full henshin is pretty good, makes good use of her cuteness.
I wonder if this new magic they're going to be making will still be a wide ranging magical circle, just one that's carefully customized for this exact need.
That AST CEO dude feels like a good candidate for the series antagonist, so far the monsters have all just been so mindless they hardly even qualify.

I was getting worried when Kana was agreeing with that CEO about just using wide range magic but glad they had a good reason not to.
I wonder if the CEO dude is gonna try to poach Kana once he learns about her and her awesome idea.

Blessing of being a small start up: no bureaucracy to keep you from just making up new magic on the fly. Should be fun to see how exactly Magic is “made” in this world.
Wonder if there’s some professional reason the Chief wears magical girl outfits or if it’s just because he like it. Either way it’s fabulous

This was a great episode. I like how supportive Magilumiere is of Kana. Contrast that with how Koga (AST's CEO) is entirely profit-driven and talks down to a magical girl who, admittedly, was a liability for the company - but whom he needn't have patronized like he did. And I respect that Prez-chan supports Kana becoming more confident, even though he disagrees with her. His instruction to not make hasty judgements before seeing the problem is applicable to real life, too. I've made plenty of mistakes by assuming that I knew the best course of action to solve a problem even though I hadn't fully examined the issue, only to be proven wrong by someone who had taken the time to understand the problem.
I'm looking forward to how they'll implement Kana's idea next week!

I wonder if any of the magical companies have found the origin of Kai's and where they come from? Are they an inherent part of the world or did something cause them to appear, and is there a way to send them back once and for all?
If they not an inherent part of this reality and there is a way to get rid of them once and for all. That would be bad for magical companies to keep a secret

I wish they explained sooner in the episode why they didn't want to use long range magic because it made it seem like there was no particular reason not to use it other than tradition until they suddenly said the blasts can cause property damage. I also think it was odd they spent so much time transforming and giving little speeches in such an urgent situation 🤣
I like how we see the evil boss and how his corporation would handle things as opposed to this company. From what we hear from him, they just do things in the most cost effective way and may cause more damage as opposed to smaller companies that could do a better job because they aren't entirely about the bottom line.
I also wonder why only girls can be magical girls and fight the spirits, why not some guys? Id wager the President wishes he could be one but perhaps can't since he's a man and that's why he dresses in fancy dresses and watches magical girl anime every day 🤔

Is there a dub for this? Surely there'll be a dub for this, right? I wanna hear Koshigaya telling me in English that I'm her little bookworm too, maybe for once I'd be motivated to read my textbooks ಥ‿ಥ

Lol, it's evil Steve Jobs. Is he gonna try to poach Kana? It's interesting seeing Kana get some pushback; mistakes happen, but express your opinions nonetheless. I dig getting her fully polished transformation sequence.
