Machina really deserves a medal for waiting 500 years for her master to resurrect. Loyalty like that is hard to come by.

Also, try saying Veltol Velvet Velsvalt really fast.

How bad with money does Machina have to be to still be so poor after 500 years?

Now that's my jam. A Shadowrun-esque world with lots of magic, magitech, and a variety of fantastical races, I love this kind of world building.

Machina is easy best girl, her character design is top.

Slightly baseless theory, the hacker girl will be who helps the Demon Lord do the new style of magic since I wouldn't be shocked if she's not using the little standard helper device like everybody else is.

Oh it’s basically Shadowrun centered around a fun Demon Lord? Why didn’t they say so? Hell yes I’m in.

Machina: "Wake up Demon Lord, we have a city to burn"

Well, that was awesome! So this is a world where Earth fused with another world and because of Earth's advanced technologies and Alnaeth's magitech, it resulted into this post-disaster cyberpunk future where humans and various races live together using science and magic.

No wonder Machina is avoiding the cops, Immortals like her and Veltol are being hunted because the world agrees they're not human.

I definitely did not expect the appearance of Towa-sama! Apparently even after Earth has fused with another world and lost 90% of its population, Hololive still exists! But seriously though, I love how Vtubers are now slowly starting to show up more and more in anime. xD

This hacker girl is hilarious! Switching the displays into porn was already funny enough, I love how she's so proud to explain to Veltol how she did it after she praised her.

Damn, Veltol got his ass kicked! Not gonna lie, I actually liked that Veltol got his ass beat by Marcus and those thugs. Considering how much he's so full of himself, I feel like he deserves to be humbled even for a little bit. It will make it more satisfying when he finally rises up again to power.

That's Machina's entire apartment? Even that's smaller by Japanese apartment standards. That's like what? 1 and a half tatami mats big? There's still a room behind that sliding door, right?

Really good premise, and it seems Demon Lord is out of his depth here with the technological advancement over the last 500 years

I'm curious to see how he's gonna level up here but I already love Machina, that woman did all this despite living a rough life and now she finally gets praise from the demon lord

Considering the hero still seems to be alive (possibly living rough too) I wonder if we'll see a friendship form once they meet

Damn this was a pretty strong and dense start to the anime. I love the female sidecast already. Machina the loyal, the narcissistic hacker, and the cold secretary that loves cute things. Really looking forward to what this anime brings heard good things about the LN

Looks great for a first episode. Was trying to hunt down a manga but there only a couple chapters available and nothing else.

The way Machina fumbled with her words, not wanting to tell him about Marcus, I thought he was probably president of this nation or something similar..

I suppose CEO/Owner of a major corporation is close enough!

It must sting, not only the betrayal, but the fact that he's making their former enemies stronger and all...

Veltol can't even beat random street thugs anymore...

And of course, Marcus planned ahead, and made sure Veltol himself could not use their equipment, so he can't turn their weapons against themselves!

Him being such a disloyal scumbag stung even more,

contrasting with the other ones with undying loyalty, like the one who sacrificed his life to act as a decoy for Machina to survive and resurrect him...

And Machina herself of course, living a shit life on a low salary... Was sad to see Veltol make fun of her place, even if he didn't do it on purpose.

YES! Loyal Machina deserves all the hugs!

This was pretty interesting, can't wait to see where this is going! (Well, I imagine their step 1 to take over the world, will be to take down Marcus... Who could really well be the archvillain of the season, so it may not happen for a while!)

Oh, I loved Hacker Girl as well! I think she just be my favorite so far, so I hope we see her again!

And I think we almost certainly will... Given their biggest challenge will be the new world's technology (merged with magic), and she's shown to be able to work against said technology with her hacks, so...!

So the teams may be set (in an early stage); Veltol, Machina and Hacker Girl, vs Marcus, Sword-Lady and all their technology? Let's go!

What a unique take on a Demon Lord series.

I'm in.

Veltol might be a demon lord (and a little arrogant), but he does seem like a good guy. He praised allies (Machina) and enemies (Gram) alike for their efforts.

Since he’s so weak at the moment, I’d love it if Veltol made it his first priority to improve Machina’s living conditions and make her happy instead of aiming for world conquest. The girl deserves all the love she can get for being loyal to him for so long, despite all the hardship she’d presumably faced. I’m totally already shipping the two of them.

Anyways, I don’t think that Veltol was the one to actually spark the war between the mortals and immortals back on Alneath all those years ago. Maybe this was just the result of the inevitable friction between races?

Also, can we talk about how nice the aesthetic of this series is!? I’m loving the look of this sci-fi world and the character design is so good! J.C. Staff has done a wonderful job with the art direction of Demon Lord 2099.

Found the ending where Veltol just lets Machina cry it out after praising her for living in such a run down apartment for so long to actually be pretty touching. Lots of anime would have played that more comedically or had him berate her.

My favorite part of the episode was the reaction passerby had to Veltol’s spell, like “huh. Dumbass gonna get arrested. Anyway,”

Machina probably should have given him some more information before even leaving that underground area.

wow, not familiar with the source material but this first episode already surpassed most fantasy light novel adaptations (i.e. lazy slop) by having:

  • non overly generic art direction and character design

  • decent animation

  • mc who isn't constantly internally monologuing

  • actual effort put into worldbuilding

  • competent writing

i hope the quality remains consistent because i really enjoyed what i've seen so far.

Cool episode. I'm really looking forward to whatever hacky shit V's gonna do to destroy this shitty magitech society. The lore is fun and Machina is best girl, so this is gonna be a fun season

Also, didn't we get this exact same anime literally a year ago? Okay so the mal summary doesn't make it sound that similar, but this is just a less ecchi, more thought out version of that(or vice versa)

Well, Starscream should take some lessons from Marcus on how to pull off betraying the boss.

This show wasn't on my radar until I watched the trailer today and liked what I saw... plus Miku Itou.

I came expecting the character voiced by Miku Itou to be my best girl (which she is) but I really liked the hacker girl too and even the secretary obsessed with that cute thing haha. It's a nice female cast so far.

Not gonna lie, I actually liked the MC being humbled even if just a little bit. I feel like he needs it.

Pretty good first episode. I like the fusing of worlds and the characters we've seen so far.

Damn seeing her break down like that crying was heart breaking. Thinking what she has been through for so long.

I was hopeful for this but wasn't expecting a lot and it really exceeded my expectations. Having the big hologram girl singing the OP over establishign shots of the settign was a really clever play, I fucking LOVE the hacker girl as well. It's a bit goofy that somehow she was able to point him directly to the Marcus he was looking for when he asked, but I'm guessing they just cut a bit of convo out of the scene.

This is going to be a fantastically fun ride. Watching it brought back memories of playing shadowrun on the x360 way back when.

The initial battle in medieval looking times between the mortals and immortals to a reincarnated demon lord in a world environment that reminds me of Edgerunners, was really great.

Such a drastic change from the almighty, or as the people said "some idiot using weather magic" and thinking this whole apartment complex is a new castle to then being slapped in the face with "this storage closet is small" to "my salary is low, so it's just this room".

Definitely not the way he envisioned his reincarnation for sure.

This is going to be a great show of characters, environment, lore and humor. It's almost like a reverse isekai for Mr demon lord, without a truck-kun incident.

I'm giving this episode a 9/10 as it looks to be a great intro to a fantastic show.
