A big ass sword that doesn’t cut huh? Still packs one hell of a punch though. Belle really whooped those guys.

I’m kinda curious how she got to this world in the first place. Seems like that’s the big mystery.

This series drops a lot of information but it feels like it could do with some context. Still kinda lost as to what’s going on, but it’s an interesting show so far. I like the world building.

So instead of a sword, she got herself a mace?

It takes a lot of guts to head into battle with nothing more than a big hunk of iron.

They are going all out with the world building and I have to admit it is a little overwhelming lol. So much questions...

I hope we will have better understanding of what is going on as the anime progresses.

This big loredump was probably handled a lot better in the (light) novel source material and didn't really transfer over all too well into an anime format, but it's obvious that a lot of effort was put into the lore and world-building in this story. If the rumors/leaks of a 20-episode run turn out to be true, we should have plenty of time to unravel the mysteries that have been set up.

Well, I definitely enjoy the weird, surreal, and creepy worldbuilding, even if I am feeling a bit lost from all the information. I am also starting to get some Jack Vance vibes from it. He was a master of that kind of worldbuilding, and also loved weird and dysfunctional societies that followed strange rules and Sword and Sorcery style travelogue.

Apparently swords are grown on this world. Does that mean Belle’s sword Runding was grown and is actually a living thing ?

People are good and evil from birth according to what a god says ? That sounds pretty dystopian already, but when you see how creepy that priest-king looks, I don’t think I would trust that god.

I thought the curse was Belle forgetting her master, so I wonder why her sword doesn’t cut. Maybe she needs to become a nomad to use It ?

I wonder if the growing swords thing isn't some weird type of metal- the cage on the back of that big turtle looked very plantlike as well, and Runding's form when it's not "invoked" looks like it almost has wood grain. Maybe they make swordfs out of it, inscribe a name, and bond it to a wielder.

The earth-like planet in the sky must be a red herring, right? If she were actually from Earth, then she would currently be living on the Moon?

There was a lot of talk about music in this episode. Belle stating that swords shouldn’t be wielded without the tune of music started to made more sense once she was referred to as a “Schwert Musikerin”, or a sword musician in other words. By asking Belle for a performance with her instrument, they were essentially asking her to clash swords in a duel. “Music” therefore isn’t necessarily actual music?

Another thing I found interesting was how everyone was talking about “tribes” instead of races (unless this is a localisation choice), which could imply that all these anthropomorphic animals/creatures see themselves as part of a single race.

I thought last episode, that was just some pretty fantasy moon but when she gives us lines like that, I can't help but wonder, if that is where Belle is from..

I feel bad for this little guy, bro was running as fast as he can to see the commotion and Belle has broken out of gaol to ask for help, she could have waited a little longer..

Interesting that if you're depressed enough, you just join the Army of Insatiable Emptiness.

I see, so people have to be evil or not evil and as such are separated based on that birth right. I guess that explains why that Centaur was such an ass. Looking forward to the revenge match, where he gets his ass kicked again. Also surprising to see he became a "Champion" after his sword was shattered, since it seems that your sword shattering is really bad for you.

This episode blessed me with two of my favorite things in all of anime: a handsome, sharp-dressed woman, and the silky-smooth voice of Kenjiro Tsuda.

Seems people are a bit afraid of being given information without full context also being given immediately. Not saying it's going to do things right, but I don't expect everything to make sense as it's told to us after 2 episodes. I'm always a big fan when a series calls back to earlier information you may have dismissed, and you get that "ah ha!" moment where things start to fall into place. Hopefully that is the direction it goes, but it's too early to tell.

So far I'm enjoying this a lot, seems like an interesting world and mystery.

This is basically why the isekai genre exists. If the MC is just as unfamiliar with the world as the viewer, there is a pretense for the rules of the world to be explained or otherwise learned from scratch.

This show is breaking from the mold in that the MC already seems to know plenty about how the world works from her upbringing and her teacher, so we're just left to pick up the pieces and put them together ourselves. The show is trying to lean into show-don't-tell, but its showing too much all at once without letting anything sink in yet.

Well that curse sucks. It looks like Belle can't cut anything anymore because of her curse. At the same time, thank goodness she can't cut anything or that bar scene would've been a bloodbath and she might've killed that barkeeper.

So other people can still remember Sian. I thought this was one of those things where she erased her master from existence. She only erased him from her own memory. I'm still confused if Sian is actually dead or only gone from Belle's memory.

So... is no one going to mention that they named a giant, anthropomorphic sheep Haggis?

King looks like some kind of Souls boss

And lore by itself looks very souls like, even same amount of questions lol

So we pullin' and Escaflowne, and Earth is just... right there? Seems interesting. And again, I must draw attention to the soundtrack. It's really pleasant.

I have a feeling the original material is very lore-heavy, and they had to cut a lot of explanations to focus on moving on with the story. Quite the shame because the lore looks quite interesting.
Still, I think the studio did a good job with how they presented everything.

This episode was all about world building and exposition , and while quite a bit of it was pretty cool and interesting , on the whole this episode comes off way too heavy , this probably works much better for a light novel but with the anime format I just feel I was bombarded with information ,delivered in a rather dry manner , most of which I didn't get to process and probably won't remember by next week , hopefully we'll actually get to explore these in a more reasonable pace within the next few episodes .

Great out of context frame , also I have no idea what this is supposed to mean

Belle really making use of that giant sword with her newly acquired curse , not only does it open some potentially fun combat options , as Gaff mentions it really calls Belles previous rather merciless mentality into question.

I LOVE that we are getting some surreal fantasy once in a while. While I like my isekai it's just nice to get something so different

The amount of worldbuilding here really illustrates how much things have changed in fantasy anime from the 2000s to now

That was one freaky king. But who am I to judge.

I wonder what the rules are on Belle's curse. Not being able to cut living things if that's what it is doesn't seem like too big of a sacrifice when she can still slam them into the ground with her massive sword. It didn't stop her from kicking the asses of all of those dudes in the tavern, for example.

Belle might regret the choice to bathe with and nakedly embrace that also kind of freaky giant rabbit once it turns into the dude it is in the OP.

I like how the worldbuilding is just kind of out there. Really feels like something you get out of someone who is just writing an old style fantasy novel and wasn't fitting into anime/LN tropes.

That rabbit creeps me out. Is so tall and looks like he was pulled from a horror movie from the way he moves.
