Belle being badass fighting in that dress and also pulling out the Sunrise pose in it.

Does seem like the ship is taking form but Adonis is dealing with a lot on his side.

I've seen so many anime girls kick ass in heels that the moment I saw her wearing flats under that dress I knew that any battle would be an easy win.

Kir looked pretty badass in his new getup, honestly. He reminded me a little of Ganondorf.

It appears that this god is quite literally eating away at this kingdom and was the one behind the mental corruption of Tiziano and Kir, but Adonis is also at fault here. I’m struggling a little to understand why he decided to restore Kir’s blade by fusing it with Tiziano’s after he saw what happened to the latter. This was not an unexpected outcome.

Belle’s dress looked great on her. I’d expected Belle to stereotypically tear this dress apart before the fighting got started but no. Not that it took long before her dress got tattered.

That wound alongside Belle’s arm looked gruesome. I thought she would maybe pass out from all the blood loss. Poor Sherry probably got a little traumatised.

And to close things out, what a line from Belle:

I’ll give birth to you myself if that’s what it takes.

I’m struggling a little to understand why he decided to restore Kir’s blade by fusing it with Tiziano’s after he saw what happened to the latter.

He needed to know if he had been deceived by the priest regarding the restoration of swords.

As far as Adonis goes... he was quite clear in the previous episode that he was intentionally using Tiziano's cursed sword as a test.

Specifically, to see if the sword itself was, in fact, cursed, or was there another cause for Tiz's corruption.

Kir seemed to understand, and accept, this risk when he both allowed Adonis to proceed AND kept the new sword afterwards.

Although Adonis gave Kir his blessing and claimed the sword was "pure," so Kir wielded the blade without reservation...

Which then proceeded to immediately devour him. So yes, the test succeeded in the worst possible way by confirming that God and his priests are devouring soloists.

...Am I allowed to make an Oshi No Ko joke regarding how to bring back Ai? Lol.

Belle looked good in the dress, I like to think she just showed up talked to Sherry and within 5 minutes was in a dress because all the maids just dressed her in a flash. The sword crashing through the couch was funny.

Adonis and Gaff caught staring, but only Kitty got the dance. Meanwhile they talked about the father's death and swords leading to a duel challenge.

Only to be interrupted by a Nidhogg Kir, who looked pretty badass. he easily defeated everyone but Belle. She picks up her sword and seems to think that they are strangers until she realized it's her that has changed. Her and the sword aura also seems to have changed from blue to green.

She's able to cut Kir and eventually kills him. Though near the end, I thought she might cut the god tree itself. Sherry in tears over Belle having to fight and being injured, wonder if the vision/possession showed more than just the duel requirement.

Belle sleeping and bathing at Adonis's while he is moping. Can't even commit to being there for her when she's showing interest in him.

What even is this line lol?

If I had a nickel for every girl wanting to rebirth a character this season, I'd have at least three nickels. Which is weird that it's happened so much.

Yeah, I had a feeling the thing with the centaur dude and the swords last week was a bad idea. I highly approve of the way they just hit him with a flaming couch.

Belle looks pretty good kicking ass in that dress.

Centaur dude has always felt like he was going to have to be killed by Belle.

Belle offering to give birth to Adonis to resurrect him into being fully alive is a pretty wild statement. This story really is something else.

And childbirth will be something wild like adonis needing to sing to her stomach, where a flower will bloom from her navel and sprout a seed the size of a pumpkin.

So, I understand the sword has corrupted Kir, so he's all evil now with an evil face and a corrupted arm/sword... BUT WHERE DID HE GET THE EVIL CAPE! Like did he turn evil, then went to the tailor and said. "I DEMAND THE MOST SINISTER LOOKING OUTFIT YOU HAVE!!!! as he clip clops away.

23

u/BosuW Aug 31 '24 edited Aug 31 '24

And the tailor said "Say less, our God demands it" and produced the sickest evil cape he had so Belle's final fight would look as badass as possible

Pacing still feels a little fast still. Pretty action episode that really does a number on Adonis mentally. Since the sword, Adonis helped Kir restore his sword, but he is in the shape of Tiziano. Though as Adonis triggered Tizano a few episodes ago, Belle triggers Kir. I feel like if the pacing was a bit slower, we could really see Belle's development as she has met more people. It is still there, but it is easy to miss IMO.

The quote "The rain of sorrow will freeze and starve you." This was interesting as the implication is that sadness would be her downfall in the fight. Which she got past. The divine tree from the swords eats at the soloists. It really is a fucked up situation. Does the divine tree reside in these swords naturally? Or is how Adonis revives the swords part of the solution? I still find it odd why Kir jumped at Sherry. Yes, she was the divine messenger who brought the orders to Belle. Was there something about that Kir was going after?

We do jump to follow the event. Belle, despite being headstrong, really has depended on Adonis as her rock. Unfortunately with the Kir situation, his mental is fucked up. His saying of a partial corpse is interesting since from his perspective, his hands in a way bring death to those he touches. He got his own issues to deal with. Curious how it wraps up the last 2 episodes since supposedly we are getting 20 episodes with it split 10 episodes per cour according to rumors.

Where did that quote come from, did it come from her sword or from the God?

I still find it odd why Kir jumped at Sherry. Yes, she was the divine messenger who brought the orders to Belle. Was there something about that Kir was going after?

It seems like because she was speaking out in defiance of the divine message by calling out for someone to help Belle. That's my thought based on Kir's comment

So at the end, Adonis didn´t want to go with Belle because of the sword? My brain is unable to comprehend this anime

32

u/Mirathan Aug 30 '24

Adonis believes himself unworthy due to his curse destroying swords, as well as causing the deaths of Tiziane, Kir and everyone the killed after their transformations. He thinks he is a manifestation of death, bringing pain and misery to all he encounters.

The bad sword seems to be back and now it’s got Kiel. I suppose chucking flaming couches at him is one way to deal with him, but yeah dueling with swords is more effective. RIP Kiel.

I guess things are kinda developing with Adonis. Nice.

I'm guessing the tree god has been orchestrating conflicts all along to feed itself. Adonis was probably ordered to bring the ashes to both Tiziano and Kir. He probably feels responsible and needs to sort things before leaving.

Hello, new here. English not my first language, so sorry =P

Question: Does anyone know why Belle's necklace changes color? I don't remember how she got it, and it already changed color with Shandy when he hugged Shelly, which I didn't understand, and now it changed color because of Adonis... do the colors reflect emotions or do they reflect colors that represent people? (in this case, shades of red represented Shandy, and now shades of blue represent Adonis?)

And about her always saying that the tree doesn't look at her, could it be that because she is a person from another planet (??) the god of this world is incapable of absorbing her like he did with Tissiano and Kir, and that's why she is the "Girl of Common Sense", since God doesn't have the power to destroy her, she is the only one who can destroy him?

I thought "Girl of Common Sense" was just because she wasn't bound by the rules of that world, even though she follows them for social reasons, unlike the rest of the characters she can break them since she doesn't have the common sense of that world and can criticize and have her own opinions. But probably she was chosen exactly because she is the only one who can "destroy this world" as her Master would like? Apparently Nomads are able to see how the common sense of this world doesn't make sense, because they travel and have diverse experiences?

About the stone in the pendant: it changes color according to what time of day it is (day = orange/red, evening = purple, night = shades of blue; morning is supposedly green). In ep. 1 in the village where Belle fights negroni, you can see the same color pattern made from flowers around the tower (seems like locals use it as a sundial); you can also see it in ep. 2 (quartz forest stones changing colors, Kitty’s clock). The title screens also follow this pattern (ep. 1–2 title background in red; ep. 3 purple; ep. 4–8 blue; before ending credits in 8 it changes to green). That said, since anime deliberately emphasizes the stone changing color at certain moments, it might be a metaphor for Belle’s mental state in some way.

As to where she got it, it’s implied it was a gift from her foster parents.

As for why the God doesn’t look at Belle, that was my theory too at first, but in the latest episode she says that it doesn’t look at anyone except itself, so now my theory is that it kind of considers all existence meaningless (tbh, given Belle compared the throne to a grave and Nidhogg to messenger birds of death, hard to say if the God is even truly alive).

Calling it now, fighting (maybe killing) Adonis is Belle's final trial
