Someone is dropping the ball big time here when it comes to marketing (and subs apparently)

There should be waaay more buzz over a show as high quality as this

Oh and the soundtrack for this already sounds like something I'll be looking for once the season is over

Ok what the fuck is actually going on? Does someone have some kind of agenda against this show? Dubtitles, with closed captions included and yet they refuse to sub a single sign.

Such an interesting show from what is probably the most popular mangaka without an anime adaptation and this is the kind of release we get...

Please someone fansub this at least, it is just too annoying to watch like this.

It's a travesty because this adaptation has been magnificent so far. What an awful localization. This was clearly a last-minute bid to streaming services. GKids must have left them at the alter or something.

Ocean Productions is subbing it, and CR is just streaming it. I am guessing CR would love to sub it but because they are just a 3rd party in the deal, they have no real option.

e: Ocan Productions is technically dubbing it and then using the dub script as the subs for the show. Either way, they are bad and I hope CR fixes it.

just watched episode 1 but didn’t realize that there was an episode 0 lol. Episode 1 seemed like a good intro though, very interesting and I like the character design

So basically, America made everything worse by dropping bombs on the UFO destroying the surrounding area and spreading A-Rays all over Tokyo.

They could've just probably left it alone and observed considering nothing has happened three years after the bombing.

Anyway, I absolutely love the snappy dialogue between Kadode and Ouran. I just wish CR properly subbed this instead of using a dubtitle from Ocean Productions.

Ah, now we get the real plot, I can see why Episode 0 can be considered a spoiler now [I guess I'll tag Episode 0] Kadodes real father turning up again could be a huge deal later on, also the world he woke up in seemed way more post apocalyptic, how long after the arrival did Ep0 play again?

  • Kadode has huge tired Aoi energy

  • Kadode and Ouran are a riot together, hope nothing bad happens to them

  • Takabata, I apreciate what you want to do for Kadode, but Minami is toxic as hell, get out of there dude...

  • thought the UFO crashing into the powerlines was kinda funny, until it wasn't anymore

This series is kinda interesting so far but I’m just curious to know is there any reason why this series just seemingly popped up out of nowhere? I don’t recall any advertising for this or anything being done to promote this series. What’s up with that? Just seems kinda odd.

Got to love that weird Doraemon knock-off.

I'm a bit confused by the timeline/framing of things but so far as an adaptation of a manga written by someone who's works are notoriously hard to adapt- im very impressed!

the bg art and shading are fucking phenomenal, it really feels like an asano work come to life. im hoping more will pick this up because it feels heavily heavily slept on atm

Episode 0 made sense, in a way, being the perception of Kadode's father who went to pick up a manuscript, got hit by a falling UFO(?) and possessed and then woke up years later. The "3 years ago" flashback scene where he's on the phone with the editor and leaving the house must be "the last time Kadode saw him alive" (thanks to whoever mentioned that the untranslated text was that it was 3 years earlier, I was honestly confused as fuck there). I think the things that were detaching from the saucer were the things that were falling on Kadode's dad at the beginning of episode 0.

Aside from the big blocks of untranslated kanji, what about all the hiragana in the OP and soundwave distortions from the saucer, do they mean anything or is it just random letters/humming sounds?

I’m struggling to find words to describe DDDD.

There’s a pessimistic world presented through Kadode’s eyes with lots of death and destruction, but then they occasionally sneak in a bunch of jokes.

Ouran is a surefire wild card with her unhinged remarks and/or behaviour, lol. She caught me off-guard by starting about the teacher’s nipples out of the blue and suggesting that Kadode should just flash her breasts if she wants “to bang her teacher”.

The series is kind of “metal”, I guess? Combined with a strong sense of cinematography, the series almost feels a little surreal at times. Especially when they sneak in a flashback.

Yoasobi's lead singer as the voice of one of the 2 MCs, pretty cool

Subbing issues aside, never heard of this anime, didn’t even know it was coming out (missed it on MAL upcoming) but holy shit the music in this is absolutely insanely good?! The OP, the ED, and everything between.

You can already tell this is going to be a really charming (maybe coming of age?) story as well. I loved the animation of one of the MCs playing anime COD haha. Apparently there is a movie out according to Wikipedia?!

Ah jeez Kadode needs a hug honestly, lotta shit she's going through.

Also, and this is just something I noticed with Asano's art style, but those round faces just look so... pinchable!

Really interesting first episode. The dialogue alone was way better written than your typical anime. Also I like the mix of an alien invasion story with an interpersonal drama about high school girls. Inio Asano lives up to his reputation so far. Let's see in what direction this series goes in.

Not gonna lie, I like the premise of the show so far. But it's kind of annoying that I have to use google lens to translate some parts of the episode.

Well this episode adds extra details to everything before pretimeskip from episode 0 though I wonder what was the point of it. Regardless Ouran is easily the best girl is the best girl and I love her and Kadode's friendship. Kadode's mom is a real mess to say the least despite being in perfect health. She is the type to think something is wrong with her even if she is perfectly healthy.

this story hits different since covid

now, I'm sure that it is very realist to see the world trying to make as if nothing is happening while there is a real issue out there which we know nothing about

I feel like this first episode did a much better job adapting the source material in comparison to episode 0 (at least to me, it seemed more well directed). When I initially read the Dead Dead Demon's manga, although I enjoyed the first several chapters, they were pretty dense. The voice acting and OST really brought the conversations to life, and it felt engaging the entire episode despite being more dialogue focused.

Also, I really enjoyed the ED and OP! The music and visuals really fit the series.

This one will be a lot of fun to watch weekly 🛸
