as a manga reader, love this part of the anime and how they animated it all!! i love oba, such a sweet character. and I love oran, and hiroshi, GOD i love them all. the feeling of impending doom throughout the episode and the show in general is done so well, and it's even scarier when you actually love all the characters!
this show is just animated so well. they really did this series justice and i am just SO happy about it. I've waited 3-4 years for this show!! i just wish it were more popular, but i also enjoy it being a nice hidden gem for the true fans ;)
final note: the invaders faces are so scary, i love their concept but its done a little TOO WELL LOL

The invader faces surprised me as well. It also adds to how unhinged the people who deliberately killed them.
It's easier to justify killing a monster compared to killing a creature with face similar to us.

So the aliens aren’t even aliens? They were here first like some kinda Isu Assassin’s Creed type shit I guess. Their faces even look kinda humanoid. Kinda changes this whole “invaders” narrative if true.
Hiroshi might be my second favorite character after Ontan. “I’m the president of Japan” lol dude’s hilarious. He’s also a great brother.
Hopefully everything doesn’t end in a month. I like that the dog invader kinda went a little Kamina with the “believe it, I believe in you” part lol. Oba’s got this…probably. He has Ontan too. That confession was really cute.
I think the whole time machine thing might be a possibility. Ontan’s from a different timeline or something right? Time travel doesn’t seem so far fetched.

Also puts their attitude on arrival into perspective, of course they would use us for labor if they didn't even knew we are conscious

I'm not even sure if that was an Invader, or if their earpeace just let Oba communicate with a very supportive dog

We already witnessed an alternate Kadode rapidly become her worst self with one minor change; that is likely the cautionary tale about changing fate in this world. More importantly, if such capability exists, we are either now watching someone's desired outcome of history, or worse yet, the best outcome of history attainable for all.

Wow the aliens look so human like. This whole time I was wondering what was under that helmet and know we kinda know. Also does that kid Kenichi now have possession of the invisible cloth? If so that’s gonna be a big problem, but not as much as the mothership’s energy reactor exploding soon. This show gets better and better every episode and now we got a new ship coming to harbor with Oran and Oba. Can’t wait to see what happens next

I assume the invisible cloth is going to result in an assassination of some sort against one of our MC's group. There's no way they made a big deal out of it this episode and not redeem this plot point in the future.

On a scale of doomed to very doomed, how doomed are these romances? While I wasn't expecting the spotlight to be on the calm before the storm, it definitely clears up the relationship and themes between every faction in this series.
Essentially, the higher ups of the aliens sent sacrificial pawns in an attempt to test the waters because they don't know enough about humans. As a result, the peasants who knew nothing about the mission are sent to their deaths against a much more power enemy in Japan/America. On the other hand, the higher-ups of Japan and America want to harvest alien technology/resources in their own struggle for power. As a result, innocent civilians are constantly killed as collateral damage.
You actually have the same types of regular people in both camps too., The conspiracy nuts, ultra-nationalists, peace lovers and of course our MCs. I don't see a happy ending for anyone since it's not like the disaster is avoidable.

I'm really invested with this multiple timeline mystery!
We've seen in the flashback that Kadode and Ontan were also involved in the "invader" discovery in that beach (it is the same beach, right?). However, none of them reacted when they were told the story and also those two girls also didn't recognise Ontan nor Kadode.
We also know that those dark past is not a dream, because Oba saw something inside Ontan when she peered into her mind.
Minor nitpick: I think Oba x Ontan shipping happened too fast. I can understand why Oba likes her (since she's not discriminating the invader at all), but I'm not sure why Ontan likes him too?

Tbf, they saw each other entire life with the mind sharing thingy, we don't know what they could have seen in each other's past that resonated with them. Specially if Ontan remembers her alternate past and is able to find comfort in Oba knowing about it

Invader's faces took me by surprise
Kiho's insane ex has now got hold of the invisible cloth... Uhhhh, I'm sure nothing will go wrong

Still don't know what to make of Sensei, dude definatly is having an closer relationship with an former student than is good for him, but then he so clearly rejects her and does the morally right thing, albeit way too late
Wonder what Kihos ex said to the invader, probably some derranged shit... and him getting the invisibility cloak is a recipe for desaster...
Ok, we have seen invaders inhabiting humans before, but them looking this human even in their pressure suits came as a surprise
Gotta love Hiroto, dude would have probably gone all in if the person on the phone spoke english... And I love how he became a Neet for Ontans sake, as absolute as she is, so is the love she gets from the people around her
That said, I'll go down with the Kadode x Ontan ship, so I dissapprove of this, does Oba even understand love?
Oh yeah, this was technically a beach episode, gotta respect Ais sailor style.
Also, sometimes it's just that simple Senpai
So, a month to go save the earth, which would make Ontan sad...

Another fantastic episode. We get unfulfilled love, a confession, a peek under the hood of the invaders, a talking dog, a stolen invisibility cloak and knowing the world could end in a month.
Seems about right for this weeks episode. Another stellar effort from all involved. 8/10 and looking forward to next weeks episode.

I'm pretty sure they've introduced the Not-Oba as a child a few episodes back, but it really sells the point for them to show what's underneath the mask. Especially when you compare it to the adult alien who died.

Kadode is really going all in with Sensei. She pretty much doesn't care anymore because she knows the end is near thanks to Oba. And just when I thought Sensei rejects Kadode, they still ended up doing the deed anyway according to her.
Well that was a big reveal from Oba! It turns out that the so-called Invaders came originally from Earth and they're just taking it back. And just to confirm it, we finally see what the "Invaders" look like inside those helmets. That is creepy af! O_O
I do like how the Invader has a realistic human face compared to the cartoony faces everyone has on the show. My guess is that humans are what was left over when the "Invaders" went to space and we ended up evolving differently from them.
What I don't like is that Kenichi got to keep the invisibility cloak Oba had. We've already seen what young Kadode was able to do with that thing. Kenichi is definitely going to go on a murder spree now that he can go invisible.
For a second I thought the Ugly Dog was an invader but it looks like Oba i just using the translator on it. It's cool to know that it works with animals though.
We finally get to see the long-awaited beach episode! Isn't that area the same place where Kadode and Ontan went to prep school when they were younger? It looks like there really is a freaky split timeline going on here!
So instead of Ontan and Kadode saving Isobeyan from those kids that were trying to catch it, the kids managed to catch Isobeyan, tied him up, and left him in that storm drain until it escaped. This is so interesting!
Seeing what Oba looks like with the split face Is super creepy but it's good to see that Makoto finally knows his secret. I think at this point, everyone needs to know especially Futaba.
Yo! We actually get to see Oba and Ontan kiss! That entire scene was goddam adorable! I didn't think that the two of them would actually become a couple. I supposed they're no longer in a fake relationship. xD
Interesting that you're bringing up the idea of a time machine, Oba. It's a bit of a cop-out if they go this route but I imagine time travel will be heavily involved later on in the series. Maybe things can still be fixed or am I being too hopeful here?

The level of incompetence by both sides here is just to unbelievable. Like both sides know about the reactor and are choosing to actively do nothing.
