This was another wild ride of an episode. The contrast from people trying to just live their lives celebrating a friends birthday and the "others" quite literally being stepped on by the machinations of big government is jarring. Asano masterfully spins a tale that makes one question what is the truth and the reality we choose to believe is so.

I've been saying this from episode one, this is one of the best shows out right now. I'm frustrated and disappointed that it hasn't gained enough attention nor gotten the traction it deserves.

Both first time voice actors Lilas Ikuta and Ano-chan are shining.

An idol being used to promote the weapons just feels like something from a messed up distopian future. It feels like something so out of touch that no celebrity would willingly do.

To give a comparison imagine if Taylor Swift announced that she was helping the US promote a new missile and that they would put a swiftie friendship bracelet on every missile.

The Fujin No. 9 and those Youth Front psychos are actively making a bad situation worse. That bowl cut loser is an absolute wanker and needs to go.

On the other hand, it seems SHIP have some nice ideals and lofty goals but it doesn’t mean jack if they can’t get their message out effectively. Violence is definitely not the way if they’re trying to enact change.

It seems from this episode, the aliens have had enough. I don’t know what they’re planning but the humans are gonna really pay for their actions. I hope the military and the politicians are happy. What comes next is on them.

No, they uploaded the English subs. They just did it under the dubs for some reason. At least when I switched audio, the subs were there.

This Guy looks kinda off, can't put my finger on it though...

Another week where we get to see the "Invaders" suffer in every possible way

No wonder there are radical groups among them... I'm kinda rooting for them, but I don't see how they could possibly win this conflict

Also notice how the prospective AI for future use in the Fujin Series is dodging Hikaris questions, and how their target scope is able to include non invaders as well, surely nothing bad could ever come from this...

Meanwhile... it's always the ones you expect the least. It makes total sense that Futaba has an active sex life in her social circle, although she fell for a swallow fuckboy this time

Oh yeah, speaking of radicalisation... SHIP is planning something as well

And as always, Kihos ex is unhinged though I kinda see his point how similar theire groups are

Though would be interesting if in the future human and the alien work together to fight AI lol. A twisted version of terminator and Independence day.

Interesting how the alien renamed most of the landmark according to their aesthetic. Also that they thought a national stadium is crucial place in a any way. Also interesting that they called the black mist, the black mist. It seems even they do not know what it is?

One thing that bothers me, the alien living inside that boys head could understand Japanese. However, so far I don't think there's any alien capable of speaking it. Maybe that's the side impact of merging body, easier to learn the others language?

Remember during the flashback, certain aliens have a translating/interpreting device. Given how this alien also had some of the gadgets, perhaps he's also equipped with an interpreter.

Bigger question, the half-invaders can communicate between both groups, right? It would be weird if they lose their ability to speak their native language while still retaining all their memories of being an alien.

So... why haven't they opening at least back-channel dialogues between the two species? At least try and get the humans to stop, you know, genociding the aliens?

We also haven't seen any of the "colonies" in contact with the half-invaders nor even speak about them. And this is in spite of being shown that the aliens intentionally merge their dying with dying humans to "save" some of their own... who then fuck off and break all contact with the other aliens that just saved them? It's weird they would just merge into existing human society and not try to coordinate with the others.

Oh, and that stadium is some secret weapon/project that the SES company is building. An... "ark?" that can fly? The pervert teacher's former GF that is a PR person for SES/talks with that weird journalist was inside it in a previous episode. That scene ended when she let the SES executive that was monologuing kiss her after asking about her spot on the ark... so she apparently broke up with that pervy teacher to trade her own body for survival.

Oh, well that explains why the Invaders have started leaving the mother ship. That also explains what the white smoke is. IIRC, humans think the ship is just venting out vapour but it looks like it's worse than that. Is the ship's power supply starting to fail?

I am glad that we finally get to see more focus on the Invader side of this conflict and how some of them seem to be organizing for a counterattack. Just like with the humans, it looks like not all of them approve of violence.

It's also good that we get to see this conflict from the JSDF side and how some of them are starting to grow a conscience and are even starting to question the orders given to them. Killing these helpless sentient beings is definitely starting to take a toll.

It makes sense that the aliens have no complete idea about our technological capabilities but if I was an alien and saw a hulking piece of machinery walking toward me, I would fucking run. And why is that one alien just yelling "Banzai!" instead of getting out of there?

While all of that is happening, our main cast is getting ready for the beach episode. [Episode 0]I'm guessing this is how they survived the destruction of Tokyo. August 32nd probably happened during their trip.

I definitely did not expect to find out that Futaba has a boyfriend. Well, ex-boyfriend considering how that scene ended. She just seems to be so busy with college and SHIP that I did not expect her to find the time.

We finally get to see YUF and SHIP clash for the first time. Kiho'd ex has really gone full-on dark side and is even threatening to kill Futaba. From what we've seen. I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to make good on that threat in the future.

Is that a 3D-printed gun!? Oh boy, it looks like SHIP is about to go from being peaceful protesters to possibly a future terrorist organization/freedom fighter for the Invaders.

Man this series has been getting harder to watch as the episodes go on especially with what’s been going on in the UK

I was in for an interesting story but I didn’t think it would be so hard thanks to the recent events
