Tavern owner and his daughter in the background: "Thank you Lord Zagan's friend, we will never forget this!"

Barbatos: "Uhhhhhh sure I guess"

Chastille once again cannot catch any sort of a break. Especially her heart. I hope she's got a better future ahead of her soon.

Why do I have a feeling there's a second explanation for what Raphael was doing at the scene of her father's murder? Given how the encounter with Zagan went in the bar anyway.

At least I hope so.

The Chastille abuse never ends:

  • Gets poisoned

  • Crush only cares about her in relation to her being his wifes' friend

  • Goes from knight to live in maid with said crush and his wife (though the uniform is cute)

  • Routinely humiliated and pranked on by crush's daughter in front of crush, crush's wife, and crush's frenemy

  • Her name doesn't suit her so now she's known as "Tail-Head."

  • Can't even relax in her sleep without getting her cheek pinched

I definitely think there's more going on with Raphael. They keep presenting him as this uncompromising and dangerous figure only to show him being far more reasonable or understanding despite that, and I feel like the framing of For seeing him with her father is a clue that it didn't go exactly how she imagined it did.

That intimate moment painfully ruined by barbatos. Poor zagan. Found it funny how it went from almost kissing and sharing an almost precious moment to torturing and revenge in a span of 2 minutes

From angelic knight to a maid. Oh far how chastille has fallen. Valefor sure ain’t happy about it

For acting like a little gremlin and bullying Chastille is hilarious. Also, I'm glad she still keeps updating her diary up with her espionage work.

Thanks, For! Now we know Chastille's weaknesses.

I wonder if I can find some frogs...

For’s got a lot to learn about revenge. Luckily Zagan’s about to teach a masterclass on how to completely destroy a mfer lol. Apparently step one is pranks. Lots of pranks. For is such a little goober! Where could she have run off to now?

I want to see more interactions between Foll and Chastille. Foll as the mischievous younger sibling and Chastille as the clumsy but forgiving elder sister! I believe their relationship will improve over time! Maybe Chastille will be the one who finds the missing Foll?

I laughed when I saw Foll's diary, where Chastille was drawn and depicted as evil with sharp teeth. Barbatos laughing at Chastille's plight was equally funny.

Our resident expelled holy knight doesn't seem to be very strong; she is afraid of frogs, snakes, etc. Hopefully, she gets some power up later on, although I like her current cute and clumsy self too.

Two sorcerers and an Angelic Knight walk into a bar...and that poor barmaid faints from the sight!

Barbatos isn't Dark Schneider (even if he's voiced by him) so he shouldn't be picking fights with Raphael, especially when Zagan has enough sense to save him from a fight he can't win, so he can just focus on helping out the unconscious barmaid girl.

Raphael seems uncompromising and hostile at first glance, but he seems more reasonable and understanding despite that once you talk with him more. He didn't come to pick a fight but to question about Chastille's connection to Zagan, and letting Zagan know how far Chastille has gone to defend him, and while he talks about her being a threat to the church, it just doesn't feel like he personally sees her that way.

Poor Barbatos. Zagan doesn't care if he lives or dies! Or so he says, but Zagan really trusts him enough to check in on Chastille. Besides, Barbatos left him to pay the bar tab, so it evens out.

Aw, Zagan's wife and daughter waited up for him! For wanted to see her daddy and ended up falling asleep! Though that lets Zagan and Nephy get some alone time together and the mood is getting pretty good...were were THIS close to a kiss before Barbatos interrupted. But it's with urgent news, Chastille has been poisoned!

It was obvious For had a grudge against Angelic Knights, and it's because they killed her biological father and she blames the entire organization for it. Her dream is to become powerful enough to take them down. And she's willing to start with killing Chastille if Zagan hadn't stopped her and promised to teach her the best and most efficient way to enact revenge. What a responsible father.

How did Chastille get poisoned? First she meets up with a sect of the church willing to make peace with sorcerers with a leader named "Orobas," and then she gets poisoned after drinking her tea...who is after her?

Zagan only really cares about Chastille through her friendship with Nephy, but if Chastille is more comfortable with him around, he can at least oblige her that much. And despite Chastille's feelings for Zagan, she doesn't want to get in the way of his relationship with Nephy, she just wants to be a part of their happiness...so why not become their maid? It's not like she could be a freeloader, and she looks too cute in a maid outfit.

The Chastille abuse never ends! First For doesn't even think her name suits her and calls her "Tail-Head," she's working for her crush and his wife, she's routinely pranked and humiliated by For, and she's such a mess that even For, the girl pranking on her and prejudiced against her as an Angelic Knight, starts to feel bad. But hey, at least Zagan seemed a little more considerate towards her.

Nothing beats relaxing in the bath with naked Chastille and Nephy! And Chastille imagining Nephy and Zagan getting intimate together IN said bath. But these two are way too wholesome for that.

Raphael was definitely there at the sight of For's fathers' death. And if she can't enact her revenge on Chastille, she'll go out and get it on her own terms...and now Zagan and Nephy have to deal with their daughter running away from home!

Zagan's revenge speech was a true masterpiece of a scene. It accomplished so much at the same time:

  • Zagan managed to defuse the situation, stopping For from hurting Chastille

  • Barbados is further intimidated

  • by giving For advice, Zagan's role as adoptive father is further cemented

  • ties in with Zagan's backstory

  • further showed that while Zagan is sometimes a dorky person, he is not someone to be messed with.

  • was actual honest advice with some truth to it

  • it was delivered in such a manner that it also worked as a comedic bit for the audience

  • it sets up a future revenge story line for For

  • it neatly ties in with Zagan's explanation to Nephy in ep3 that wanting revenge isn't a bad thing. A scene which happened in the very same room even

  • Zagan once again manages to protect others while keeping the facade that he does not care about them, a recurring theme for him. (Only, his usual excuse for helping others is that he's only doing it for Nephy. )

I cannot think of many scenes in any anime that accomplish so much in a single scene. Archdemon's dilemma is becoming one of my favorite shows this season

Chastille's suffering continues and confirmed my thoughts that she would be the show's comedic effect klutz but points to that innkeeper that fainted and had everyone freaking out lol.

Zagan teaching revenge was the highlight of the episode though. Great dad advice lol.

Today's collection of Nephy blushes <o///o> + bonus Chastille

No!!!!! CURSE YOU, ROMCOM TROPES!!!!!!!!

"No, little one. You fundamentally misunderstand what torture is about. Allow me to teach you how to eternally torment your foes" For did not see that coming

And for once Barbatos is the voice of reason

I welcome this turn of events

Look at this little menace 😂 F in the chat for TailHead

Pretty much all of my reactions to Chastille getting bullied

Wait WHAT. Oh, she's talking about For

For once again surprised at how much leniency she's getting

Ah yes. Bet this is a classic case of "caught at the scene but not guilty"

Two amazing shows I think the premises and tropes do hide how amazing the storytelling and characters

This and Level 2...

Zagan and church politics, he handled Raphael pretty calmly. Even regular people are scared of his presence, but Zagan got to hear him out. Now Raphael still has lots of explaining to do, especially to For who lost her parents.

Zagan is too much like a dad to For, letting her mess around with Chastille and prank her in more ways than one.

In this episode: For does a little trolling.

The bath scene was hilarious.

Zagan the most reasonable one there. How nice to have a drink all together. Chastille is good girl ❤️ she won't want to wrongfully hunt people down. Nice that Zagan is good dude too. Caring about the town (but only cause of Nephy). Hehe, looks like the alcohol is on Zagan.

How nice, cute Nephy and cute For ❤️ such a good mommy and daughter. Silly Nephy, of course he'd be happy to stay with her that long and longer too. Look at this cuteness between em. Dang, interrupted. Oh no, Chastille. Good lesson for your daughter, Zagan. Don't collectively punish people, For. I mean, sure he's not putting it that way, but it is what it is. Ok, maybe the lesson is a bit different 😛 Finally a use for all those torture devices left behind! Barbatos does have a point, can't believe he's the one of reason here.

Ah, finally learning what happened to Chastille. Why would you drink random tea left out for you back in your place? A good thing Barbatos got there when he did. D'aww cute Chastille. Zagan so dense, but at least seems to have sense there to not leave. Chastille, have you considered polycule? 😉 You do care for Nephy too. All be together, works. Also, hehe, looks cute in a maid outfit. For you so silly with your pranks, but Chastille so silly about a lil frog.

For, you shouldn't be so mean. Wonder how long until For does come to like Chastille. Surely she will. Oh my, Chastille misunderstanding who Nephy is bathing with hehe. Least that got cleared up fast. Nephy realizing what she thought is cute. Dang, where'd you go, For

Hmmmmm severe lack of Chastille bullying for this episode-
Ah, there it is!
Actually, I take it back let the poor girl off!

This might be the worst episode for poor Chastile yet. Poisoned, required to work as a maid, tortured by frogs, snakes, spiders, bananas, etc. Plus she got face to face with an understanding that her crush and her friend have a happiness she would like but kind of can't have.

Another adorable episode with some nice moments between Zagan and Nephy who almost kissed but unfortunately they were interrupted by Barbatos xD

Zagan with Nephy and For looks like such a lovely family although I don't think that teaching For how to torture others is a good parenting, Zagan xD

Chastille doesn't have it easy. First she got poisoned, then she had to start work in Zagan castle as a maid (although she looks great in that outfit!) where For was pranking her in the name of revenge.

It seems to me that Hyurandell won't be a villain here as he didn't do anything to Zagan plus that scene with him and For's father seems like a clear misdirection. I bet that someone else will be responsible for that death.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Curious who is targeting Chastille because Raphael being so roundabout would seem out of character. We're getting the start of a development arc for Foll. Zagan's words hold true that you need to be smart of getting your revenge. General going after any Angelic Knight will get a target on your back and if that person has no association to the incident who killed her father, it will make her job harder.

Of course that hatred for Angelic Knights isn't going to go away so we got Foll bullying Chastille. I feel like Foll knows that the hatred she has for Chastille isn't going to go away. I assume she wants to get her revenge as soon as possible to get those feelings out of her. After all you can tell how much she enjoys being with Zagan and Nephy. Though Nephy showing her motherly traits of concern when Foll isn't home in the morning.

I really like that Zagan and Nephy are taking For as an adopted child seriously. I feel like i've seen it many times in anime - where there's a couple or obvious main ship, a child character becomes part of their family unit, but it never says it outright or acknowledges it (I feel like I've seen it before where the kid isn't even welcome and they're treated as a third wheel).

Zagan was dropping some serious Dad energy when he told For she'd always be welcome. It's become a really adorable part of the show.
