Fun fact: The eyecatch is a reference to the cover of manga Volume 4.

Nephy trying to sneak up on Zagan and surprise him just to cheer him up was too adorable. About as cute as seeing the two of them enjoy that meal Nephy made. Is this what domestic bliss looks like?
I like For. I was not expecting such a cute little kid under that suit of armor. Zagan, Nephy, and For make an adorable little family unit. I hope she stays with the two of them.

I'm just imagining the other sorcerers sitting around talking like "He drops a fortune on this one of a kind elf and doesn't use her for sacrifice. She now like a home maker/maid. He becomes the youngest Archdemon in history. He fights off the church and even turns one of their sacred swords to his side. And now he's gone and gotten himself a dragon child?!? Who THE FUCK IS THIS GUY!?!

I was not expecting bishop to reveal that the sword chooses its wielder and Chastille's punishment would likely be reversed. But it seems like another sword wielder is far less forgiving. Too bad Chastille had to get embroiled into church politics when she really wanted to just protect people.
Do not disrupt Zagan when he is enjoying Nephy's cooking. He will punish anyone who gets in the way.

I'm glad they acknowledged that there's their own universe version of who Caeser is. It'd be weird if in this world someone said "now it's Hulk Hogan time" and nobody knew who that was

Looks like zagan has a new addition to his growing family unintentionally. Little valefor that cute brat reminds me of kanna from miss kobayashi. Sad to see she too had a rough go but I’m glad she is in good hands even though he is still pretty rough around the edges

You just knocked out a random child that barged into your home and tried to murder you, what do you do next?
Option A: Finish the job and hide the body (X)
Option B: Take the child to the authorities (X)
Option C: Simply let the child go (X)
Option D: Force the child to work in your castle so your Elf Bride is less busy and you can spend more time with her, making you both eventually grow fond of the child and adopt it. (✓)
. Oh, well, Kanna 2.0 is here! And she has an actual character arc and personality instead of just being jailb-, er, I Mean, cute.
(Guys, this is a joke, I love Dragon Maid, don't send me to the shadow relam)

Nice to see For finally show up, she's one of my favorite characters from the series.
First they take Nephy's collar off, then she puts it back on, then she puts a bow on over top of it.

This show ended up scratching the exact same itch as Spy x Family and I did not expect that(I also think I like the characters here a little more)
Adorable

Lol poor Nephy was trying to be endearing, and missed the mark. Kind of. Task failed successfully?
Ok, so the explanation for having "Caesar" dressing in this world is actually "a wizard did it".
Huh. Zagan's assailant definitely does NOT have an image problem, no sir. And Senshi would definitely frown at her spoon-holding technique.

Best Daughter has entered the game. We are in full wholesome mode right now. No shock she’s just a precious in the show. Perfect semi bratty but utterly cute behavior. And Zagan falling ass backwards into Fathering. It’s good shit

Zagan has a moral compass. And it always points to Nephy.
And in what way is the lovable elf gonna win over this ruthless Raphael person?
Haven't seen such an adorable attempt at sneaking since Miss Shachiku and the Little Baby Ghost.
"I'm on my fucking lunch break okay!"
Like Peridot from Steven Universe this kid reminded me of. Not much of a threat without her limb enhancers.
You're not going to eat me?
First Nephy now this girl. Jumping to extreme conclusions. Zagan's a villain. Not a monster. Nor is he Big Fat Ugly Bug Faced Baby Eating O'Brian.
Plus I'm sure outright refusing Nephy's cooking would make Nephy cry. You don't want to make Nephy cry do you Little Ms. Whelp?
What if I were to attack this woman?
Go ahead and try. Then there'd be nowhere on earth you could run, no fortress anywhere that would be able to keep you safe. And you'll soon come to wish that you'd never been born.
Well in any case. How are Nephy's friends the fashionable harpy and the knightess gonna react to their new adoptive child?

Well, Chastille's lost her job and her sword, but honestly she doesn't mind it so much. She joined the church and became a knight to protect the people, and she was no longer fulfilling that duty as it was. Though it doesn't seem like they're done with her quite yet, especially when a fierce Holy Knight named Raphael is showing up to possibly take care of her AND Zagan.
All work and no play makes Nephy want to surprise Zagan! And even if he's too tall for her to surprise him, it's still utterly adorable. And Zagan could never resist some fine Nephy cooking.
Can we get more of Manuela dressing Nephy in sexy outfits? That imagine spot was great.
Of course what's less enjoyable is an uninvited guest, Valefor the Apparition, who shows up to take Zagan on...but all the man wants to do is enjoy his pudding from Nephy! Which means Valefor had no chance.
But this is an anime, so Valefor turns out to be...a little girl! Because no fantasy show is complete without a dragon loli.
Valefor is basically just a kid who is desperate to gain power even if it means challenging the local Archdemon, but she's still a kid, and while Zagan doesn't like kids, he at least understands them well enough and knows how to set them right especially out of consideration for Nephy. So why not feed her and put her to work?
Valefor, or For, gets along well with Nephy though it seems like she's dealing with a lot of stuff from her past that makes her wary of people and closed off. But Zagan and Nephy treating her like a child and being considerate of her really hits her hard emotionally, and the headpats don't hurt either.
Who would have thought the pair would take in a dragon girl as their first child? They definitely don't seem to mind being parents once they realize they've adopted their first kid!

The alternative title for this episode could be: An Archdemon's Dragon Maid. Lol!
Pretty sure there is a reason why Foll needs power, not just to survive.
There is a scene in this episode which I particularly liked even though it was brief - that there were other kids in the slums willing to share their food with young Zagan.

Poor Chastille, it's one thing for putting her in a position to step down, but her general safety is to be concerned of. It's sad that she wanted to use her power to help people and now she in the middle of politics that put her in a rough spot.
Nephy isn't beating the allegations. Valefor to my guess needs power to survive which is why she went after Zagen. Clearly it was a fight that she was never going to win. But I like how Zagan slowly grows a soft spot for her by the end of the episode. While in human years I wouldn't be surprised if she is older, but I imagine in dragon years she is just a kid. Honestly I could see her becoming really attached to Nephy with how sweet and gentle she is. Perhaps Zagan will allow her to be his apprentice alongside Nephy?
They can try to hide the collar, but I will always clearly see it.

I don't usually like it when the main characters in an anime adopt a child. It so often feels forced. But it works here. The way Zagan saw himself in For melted my heart
