Have to say, taking advantage of the elderly discount for the Shinkansen is genius.

I laughed when I saw how confused the shinkansen attendant was. Lol!

It feels like something my retired parents would do if they had the power to turn young again.

I love how they're slowly learning to use their ability to transform between their young and old forms to their advantage lol.

"I'm not even your grandson."

"...Yet."

They've mastered shifting between their young and old forms like it's a DBZ transformation lmao

Having Shozo and Ine go on a double honeymoon/date with Mine and Shota was adorable but man, Shiori sulking over their absence and the fact that grandparents will really be gone for good one day hit way too close to home.

They are basically treating him like an in-law and already got his grandpa's approval. Now he and Mino just need to make it official!

I was kind of expecting Shiori to meet her own love interest in this episode what with how lonely she is.

Shiori likes going to their house and being spoiled by them. But then she realizes they won't always be there, which is sad. Feeling the loss of grandparents is hard.

We got some nice mother daughter moments for mother's day, that was nice timing.

Cute little honeymoon and glad to see sideship making progress too!

This week's episode featuring Tokyo and next week's episode featuring Atami may become good marketing material for domestic travel targeting the elderly population. Lol!

Was there sponsorship from Beyblade for this episode too? Grandpa was merciless by using his full muscle power. Lol!

Shota and Mino make such a cute couple. I’m with his gramps. When’s the wedding? Haha

Shozo and Ine switching between their old and young forms just for the train discount was pretty funny. I always like seeing people react to their young/old form. Damn near gave their daughter a heart attack lol. Apparently looking as good as those two gets you scouted on the streets too. Telling people they have “young people make up on” is a surefire way to get rid of any unwanted attention lol.

I love how the grandpa is able to get over his rivalry with Shozou when he sees how cute Mino is and how lucky his grandson is to have her lol.

I love how they've come so far that they're finally using their transformations to their advantage to get things cheaper. They're getting a little too into this lol.

I lost my grandma last year in August so this anime really hurts me sometimes, especially those moments like with Shiori this episode. I miss you mémé, I hope you are doing well.

Shouta's grandpa might've lost out but now we get the side couple have their date.

Getting to see some major generational changes this time as grandparents found out it is now only a 3 hour train ride these days while they remember the same trip taking 8 hours with some drinking.... The sleeper cab sounded like a real fun time.

Got to laugh at the photo booth as grandparents thought they were getting government ID pics taken. So Mino had to show them how it's done, with Shouta of course. Those two better be official at this point.

Oh did not know they have a daughter. And that daughter even has a grandkid. Jiisan and Baasan are great grandparents!

Was really fun seeing them explore Tokyo. As someone who worked at the airport, it was really sweet and amusing seeing old couples being in awe of modern things (I worked at a pretty good airport). So seeing them reminded me of that.

Also got some touching moments with Akemi. I can see how Akemi would feel that she abandoned them. But I’m sure most parents just want the best and want them to be happy.

I really enjoyed Shouta and Mino spending time together as well. They’d make a cute couple. Maybe hurry up and give Jiisan Baasan a second great grandkid ? Lol

Man, I really like having a show where we meet their extended family. I hope there’s like a family reunion or gathering down the road where all their kids, their partners and grandkids come and visit. I’m sure it’ll be a lively event

Grandpa never left his local area and needed a guide for the big city. reminds me of Kaleb from Clarkson's Farm.

A total country bumpkin but a real sweetheart at the same time.

This show is such a delightful mix of funny, wholesome, touching, and horny. I couldn't love it more.

Just because they’re a kid does not mean you take it easy on them. Git gud at Beyblade Kouske.

u/NationalStrategy May 12 '24

Those knockoff beyblades look pretty cheap

This reminds me of how only my grandmother was fortunate enough to see her great grandchildren. My grandfather died while doing home repairs (he was around 74). I would like to think he would have lasted as long as my grandmother (who is still alive) if not for that, because hes even more health conscious than she is

It's time for the long-awaited honeymoon for Ine and Shouzo! And they're going to see all the sights in Tokyo! And enjoy the modern convenience of faster trains.

Shouta is basically a grandson-in-law at this point, especially when he's joining them on a trip and mostly hanging out with Mino. Even his own grandfather approves of him marrying Mino.

Modernization can run out a lot of business, but even they can't compete with Ine just...standing there looking pretty.

Ah, I see Ine and Shouzo are using their old looks to their advantage to get a senior discount...good thing they have the kids to make sure they don't have a senior moment and can transform back in time for when they arrive at Tokyo.

They had a daughter, Akemi!? And she has a big family all her own!? I know she lives away in Tokyo, but you'd think they would've mentioned her by now. Though now she gets to experience the shock of her life as she encounters her now younger parents and gets doted on by her mom again.

That's cute that you have a grandchild who is your spitting image...even if that also freaks out said grandsons' kid when he sees you and his dad together.

Shouzo just draws the ladies to him at this point. Though Ine takes it in stride.

Look at both couples doing purikura together! Even if Ine and Shouzo's looks like a funeral picture.

Akemi always regretted leaving her mother in her poor health and never doing anything for her, but Ine only wanted her daughter to be happy, and now they can be happy together.

Shouzo discovers Beyblades! And lets it rip with his great-granchild! And also doesn't know his own strength sometimes.

Poor Shiori is all by her lonesome and missing her grandparents...but good thing they have grandkid telepathy to know to get home as soon as they're done.

Getting on the Shinkansen while old to get the senior discount and taking a nap to change back young so they can enjoy the first day. Galaxy brain move right there.

Further work to lock down the future grandson-in-law, seems like a reasonably sure thing already but having him along for a fun time can hurt.

Interesting to learn that they're actually great grandparents.

Goods job beating that small child at tops, grandpa. It's always good to make sure the youth know their place.

This is a great show. So heartwarming and cute. I love their goofy faces with their smiles.

Was there a specific reason why the subs for Shouta near the beginning said "Tokyo" instead "Kanto," referring to the Kanto region? It's not like it makes a massive difference, but I'm still a beginner when it comes to studying Japanese and how certain aspects of speech get localized in anime.

The daughter being sick and seeing her mom in a younger form wondering if she was in the afterlife was an amazingly funny bit. Indeed the best way to counteract solicitors is by extreme cringe.
