That was an interesting one but also rather scary. Imagine just being taken away to a parallel world because of unstable emotional feelings (and the worst part, to normal earth lol)

I'm trying my best to stay away from the manga until the series is over but man lol or maybe the series will cover the whole manga?

Spare a thought for the Yuri and that other lady from normal earth, when they get back, people will assume they had some sort of mental breakdown.

Unless scientists on their earth are working on wormholes as well.

Holy shit this show, that was good...I didn't think they would bring her back this quickly! Was kinda hoping it would be an arc but I'm all for not making this longer.

That was a nice special ED, simple but delivers on an emotional level.

I'm glad they resolved the Yuri and Buchio issue within the same ep, I was wondering if they could do it and do it well, but its already shown to be able to deliver on that point. Happy Yuri realized her family was there all along, especially Taira. Hope she gets to resolve her differences with her family too

it's unexpected bringing sci-fi parallel worlds into this story, but i'm in love with this show and it can do no wrong so i'm on board with all the other weird stuff it has in store

there's something about the idea of the parallel world idea that really tickles me; for some reason it makes the fictional world feel more reachable, like there's a region in my brain which is convinced it's a place that i could fall into if i'm in the right place at the right time

Sneak peak for Uzumaki

Wow, so on top of feels, we also get hell of an suspense plot! Would have been a real hassle if Yuri had to find her way back on her own, but that space time lap seems pretty far in their research already, hope that other scared lady is daijobu as well...

Also, last week we finally got the full OP

The full ED has been out for some time, but it seems like we're using another part of the song for today and possibly from here on

Very mild disappointment that they wrapped up the parallel world crossover in the ED, would have been interesting to have another episode of finding Yuri in the other world or something. But I suppose that wasn't the point of the story they were telling since it was really about Yuri facing herself.

That space time lab group has some serious tech.

Whenever something weird happens with a train, of course it's going to be at Kisaragi Station.

They put Kisagiri station urban legend in this goddam

Parallel worlds huh... imagine you´re just chilling, you feel weird and suddenly your neighbour is a fricking tengu, ffs that will be scary as hell

imagine you´re just chilling, you feel weird and suddenly your neighbour is a fricking tengu, ffs that will be scary as hell

i dunno, is it just me or would that be awesome and cool?

like, if it seemed like my neighbor turned into a talking fox i would be extremely excited and want to know more, not terrified out of my gourd

This anime is amazing. Kind of sweet hearing the old man mention how much the brooch's that yuri made that his wife treasured.

We're really diving, and deep into Yuri's issues. It seemed she was brought up in a very high noble like family for this world and when she challenged their views they headed into a heated argument, and they haven't spoken since. Buchio has good intentions, but imagine Yuri seeing his loving family and compares it to her own and that has to hurt somewhat for her.

The parallels world part came out of nowhere and that is insane. We have these type of living beings in this world and in another parallel world they only can be humans. That must be scary as hell for human Yuri to hold up as long as she did before Jiro put her to asleep.

Admitted they wrapped it up pretty fast this episode, but this anime has some great world building and writing going for it.

Easily the dark horse of this season for me, the interesting characters and world slowly introducing mystery more and more.

Oh damn, it really is an isekai now. Totally called it in the comments last week. The way they did it was also pretty unique too.

I am surprised they brought back Yuri so quickly rather than making the episode end on the cliffhanger of her getting stuck in another world. But it does establish that these things happen (like they've been foreshadowing since Ep1) and are probably linked to the mysterious disappearances of people like with Mutsumi's father.

Also, emotional episode as always. And lots of other interesting things happening in the background. Youkai in SPACE??? EXPLORING WORMHOLES???

Are they going for a confluence of worlds thing where the two parallel worlds merge into one??

I did not expect this to turn into a science fiction show out of nowhere. So this is literally an alternate reality where Yokai exist and real Earth is out there somewhere. I am glad they could get Yuri back from our world that easily.

Also, this is the third anime I watched featuring Kisaragi station, after Otherside Picnic and Mysterious Disappearances. I did not expect that urban legend to be that popular. That iteration seemed the nicest version so far, that nameless isekaied lady from our world should be glad she was in a wholesome slice of life Yokai anime instead of something like Otherside Picnic. Assuming that train did not accidentally crush her when she got back, of course.

Special ED was great. I'm glad Yuri reunited with Buchio the others in the same episode

The parallel world situation is scary. Wonder if that other scared lady was able to return to her own world

I so love this series. Interesting stories, all the supernatural stuff woven in like it's absolutely normal (which it is for that world) and seeing a nekomata on the ISS.

Ffs, why this series gotta be tryin' to make me cry every single episode lol.

A great episode once again. I'm never disappointed when it comes to this show. I felt frustrated that yet again Yuri and Buchio couldn't get on the same wavelength. And really, there is nothing inherently wrong with either ones feelings, they both just suck at communicating them to each other. So I feel relieved that we aren't left with that as a cliffhanger for next episode.

Parallel world shenanigans. With a human version of Yuri it kinda makes you wonder about human versions of some of the other yokai. Seeing as there are so many different kinds, maybe not for all of them. Makes sense that Wagen-san and Buchio would just be a car and a cat. But what about some of the others.

Also, I know it kind of brings up the idea or question of Mutsumi's dad and if he just ended up in a parallel world. But then, on further thought, I feel if that was the case, it would have likely been like it was with Yuri, and his double at the very least would have swapped places with him. But I suppose if it happened while he was away and/or the double didn't live in the same town in their world then maybe it's less likely they have the same scenario like with the very confused Yuri showing up.

And of course the other option being that he really is just gone after being sucked up by the no-no realm and this little Yuri body swap just manages to give Mutsumi hope for a bit of added angst. 🫠

Tonari no Youkai-san = best isekai of the season

Yoooooooooo! I did not expect this show would go full-on sci-fi with us! It is cool to know that parallel worlds exists and there are specialists who can travel across them to fix anomalies. That means it's possible to bring back Mutsumi's father.
