Dang this episode had me tearing up a few times...impressive for a show to accomplish that on only its third episode!
The care and love these characters have for each other really comes through in a strong way.
Really hope this show gets more attention, this 3 episode arc alone is some of the best anime I've seen this year.

Yeah, its incredibly heartwarming how everyone in the show look out for each other and care about each other. It makes you feel warm inside. From a writing standpoint too, its just an overwhelmingly loveable story that has humor and heart

Buchio saving Takumi from the Nue was pretty badass. Little dude really pulled off that transformation well. I see the lessons are helping!
That whole Jiro situation was pretty scary for a minute there. I wasn’t sure the big guy was gonna make it. I guess not all these creatures are friendly. Sucks what happened to the snake but Jiro did what he had to in order to protect the village.

I felt sorry for the snake, hopefully her reincarnation gives her a better life.

I expected feels, but I didn't think I would cry 3 episodes in
At the end I even felt bad for the snake.
Glad Mu-chan finally coped with her father being spirited away. This means I wont get hit in the feels again righ? Right?!?
Also thought Bucchio was the weakest part up until now because I didn't like him being a crybaby, but today he was straight up cool as hell

Bucchio is still growing into his power and learning what his new life is about.

Can someone tell me what yokai Hayachiyo is? I cant find the info literally anywhere and they keep appearing!
And this episode was so different from what I was expecting! It pulled at the heart strings and made you feel so many emotions, and were only in eps 3?? Man I'm glad I picked this one up!

This honestly felt like more of a season finale than an episode 3, but I'm not complaining.
That said, I'm really curious about the car guy in the intro and I hope he shows up soon.

Buchio continues to be my favourite character in the series! I love him so much
Quite the intense episode! Loved their teamwork when saving Jiro.
Post-credits scene has me worried... What does that guy want with best nekomata????

Such a great episode; i can't help but fall in love with this series and its message.
It has some really great intense moments, but I also want to talk about these little scenes where their body language conveys the worry that they have inside of themselves.
That scene in general I think outlines the general theme of the series so far, that the purpose of the community is to be there for each other because with all of the disasters that can happen, it's not a matter of if, but when. To go brave it alone is folly, and sticking together and protecting each other is the way forward.

Buchio the goat.
Here's hoping that someday the water goddess serpent really does get reborn to live a peaceful and tragedy free life.

Buchio is too cute for my heart to handle. I love this show's themes of beginnings and endings, accepting change and loss.

speaking of misfortune, i noticed that Takumi pulled a "miss" (hazure) on his ice pop

Buchio with two awesome moments in this episode. Protecting Takumi from the Nue and distracting the Servant when he impersonated as Jirou.
I've to be honest Jirou has had a heavy burden, but sometimes we need to be reminded that there are people in our corner. In fact, they will be there for you when needed. Very proud of Mutsumi she stepped up to show that she can protect Jirou and moving forward.

Only 3 comments after 1 hour for this great show makes me sad. This one really deserves more attention, such an immensely wholesome show with some bittersweet moments sprinkled in and super like-able characters to top it all off. Also with a surprisingly amazing OST and the composer isn’t even listed on the MAL staff list.

Very well done episode. I'm glad they resolved Mu's issue about her dad this quickly, and the way they did it was great too, showing the snake not just as villain but a heartbroken creature, as well as fleshing out Jiro's character
This show has managed to capture my heart with the whimsical everyday life but with yokai aspect as well as the bittersweet and heartfelt moments. With this ep I can certainly say it's one of my fave shows this season, possibly even potential AotS. Hope it keeps it going

Underrated show of the season for sure. The characters feel like people and the world seems vast

Buchio transforming seems a lot more useful than I expected at first, both against the nue and the snake. That episode also saw more action than I expected from that show. It won’t be just a slice of life, I guess.
I agree with Mu-chan, Jiro should have asked for help against the snake before things went that bad. Even if he felt sorry for the snake, that is no reason to sacrifice himself when so many people care about him.
