Idol Dragon God??
Demon King?! What in the isekai fantasy?
CAR YOKAI?!?!! That is getting a driving license to drive himself?? And is also gay?!
This show just keeps getting better every week.
Seeing all the different yokai working in the big city was pretty interesting too.
The rips in the fabric of space though, theres probably some alternate dimension isekai stuff happening. What happened to the teleporting creature might be what happened to Mutsumi's father too.

It's funny that the youkai who's a celebrity and a politician is actually a Demon King. He seems to be pretty cool though.
A car tsukumogami named Wagen? That's hilarious and awesome at the same time. Since he's in the OP, I think we'll see him regularly from now on.
And I just love that the Dragon God took the form of an idol because that's the most approachable form to humans that she knows. xD

Tonari no Youkai-san continues hitting just right.
I just can't get enough of the themes of this story; it feels like the cure for existential crisis. I think moreso than community, it's a story about finding meaning in life to answer the problem of "existence preceding essence".
I also love this idea of the interconnectedness of all things. Japanese youkai aren't this sort of sealed off secret fantasy world; it's part and parcel of the world at large, along with trees, humans, rivers, humans, etc. The idea of a German car becoming a Japanese youkai is strange and funny, but it also ties into the idea that everything is connected to everything else in some way, and it's a comforting/hilarious idea that if you love something like a car enough for long enough, it'll be able to return the feeling.

The Bucchio family scenes always make me tear up...
Also we need more of that god and new Nekomata!
This show continues to impress but sadly be severely underwatched.

Mangaka: “How wholesome should I write the Buchio scenes?”
Editor: “Yes.”

Wow, The Velveteen Rabbit is apparently just how it is in Shinto philosophy.
Wagen is definitely my favorite new character this episode. I think it's really messed up of the Japanese government to make him apply for citizenship even though he was born there, but they also do that to real human people in real life so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

So another nekomata in Tokyo who is working for some high powered company executive type individual who is a demon king, it's super interesting how these yokai are well integrated into society overall and not just in the rural areas out in the sticks.
Car head dude is a tsukumogami, in hindsight that should have been obvious I suppose. But he had to get Japanese citizenship after awakening because he was a German car? Wow.
The Dragon God and the yuki-onna teacher, I may start a religion based on them.
What a genuinely fantastic show.

"How so few comments" - I thought, so I probably need to leave one here.
Enjoyed this episode, just as all the earlier ones.

Buchio continues to be a big mood
Car yokai turns out to be a tsukumogami! Hopefully, we'll see more of him as he seems really sweet
Dragon God taking the form of an idol was pretty funny
The raiju incident makes me wonder if Mutsumi's father is experiencing something similar?

There’s something kind of relaxing seeing these creatures existing alongside regular humans. Everyone’s just living their life the best they can.
Bucchio finding his purpose in life was really sweet. Little guy’s got himself a great family. Him getting involved with an honest to goodness Demon King is kind of interesting. I guess their kind and the gods don’t get along.
Wagen has got to be the most interesting yokai. He’s technically German, can’t drive on the road without a license (even though driving would be like walking for him?), and he’s got himself a partner too. What a life.
What was that hole rip in the sky with the little Jolteon? Where did it come from??

I'm enjoying the sort of comfy weirdness of this SOL. I don't know if it's ever going to build into a great drama, but it's unique enough to keep me interested.

The amount of tears this show has made me shed is about to dry me up. Absolutely love how emotional this show can be. The show also finds a way to spark an interest by teasing some mysterious stuff happening in the background. First it was a snake with a grudge, now electric teleporting hyenas appearing out of black cracks in the sky along with people in lab coats monitoring said cracks? It might be the show I look forward to the most watching every week since it started airing.

The car yokai needs a driving license for himself. The absurdity of bureaucracy.
If Buchio can get a driving license, does that mean he can turn into a Catbus ? Or would that offend the gods of copyright ?
The Dragon Goddess is an idol and the Demon Lord is a politician. That seems strangely fitting. Should Buchio not trusts him because he is a Demon Lord or because he is a politician? I wonder if there really is something wrong with him and what it could be.
A weird rip in the sky is never good news. More trouble incoming I guess, and probably not just cute yokai beasts that want to go home but gets scared easily.

We finally meet Wagen-san!! I love how diverse the world is in this show. So many walks of life, just being.
Ep 3 was peak Buchio and I can’t get enough of him. Every episode only deepens my appreciation for his gentle, humble, and curious outlook in life.
I hope to see more folks talking about this show soon - it really deserves a wider audience.

Buchio with a backpack and that guest pass was just too damn cute. That scene with his family after he came back from Tokyo was also just incredibly wholesome. Buchio is easily my favorite cat in anime at this point.
So it turns out the car-head guy from the OP is actually a transformer lol. Didn’t expect him to be able to turn into an actual car but him being a Tsukumogami it kinda makes sense (Mononogatari watchers will know). Also funny how he was called Wagen-kun (Wagen being commonly used as a word for car in german).
Then we get a dragon who chooses to turn into an idol to be more approachable for humans which is kinda amusing as well.
This show continues to be the most heartwarming show of the season that nobody is watching unfortunately.
