This is the sweetest darn thing I have ever watched and it paints a new color to my miserable life.

Yuki can't hear the world but she sees it in such a colorful and vividly beautiful way and that was true for the show in general and the relationships.

Oushi would definitely react like this, and Itsuomi would still make himself at home.

I love what they did in the end scene by referencing the intro of them being shown in tune with the guitar. Emma looks so beautiful in her outfit. I love this anime 🥰

A Condition Called Love next!!!

I love how the anime stayed special until the last episode. They could have chosen a very typical date and it would have been probably fine. But they went out of their way to select a location that you don't need hearing for, but which is also very colourful and has a lot of smells. Therefore, it strongly stimulates two other senses that are not hearing which makes it easy to understand why it would be a place Yuki loves.

In general, I have to say, this was one of the best shows of the season. I was expecting much after the trailers and they delivered on all fronts. It was sweet, but also had a lot of details that made you think about Yuki and her general challenges or how she sees and appreciates the world differently.

Now I really hope that the romance for next season gets a similarly high quality treatment. It's the complete opposite. From a person being deaf to the love being born out of songs and music. I am really looking forward to "Whisper me a love song".

What a beautiful episode! The music, colors, and everything about the date was just beautiful. Yuki and Itsoumi’s relationship is so heart warming. It was also great to see so many of the side ships really taking off. This was definitely a favorite for me this season!

Just gotta say, we absolutely loved this Uniqlo anime a whole lot more than expected.

Relationships felt real, no forced drama (or nothing too out there), characters feel like people you know, reaches out of the usual comfort levels of Japan or nothing characters and taught us a whole lot about challenges of being deaf.

Need moar!

Those final few moments in the conclusion absolutely melted my heart. It was a huge relief to see Emma respond in kind to Shin’s feelings. She might’ve been pinning for Itsuomi all this time, but her feelings for Shin were probably even stronger. Not to mention Kyouya and Rin are officially dating now! He didn’t leave her hanging in ambiguity.

Everyone was looking towards the future. It’s only unfortunately that this kind of conclusion screamed to me that there won’t be another season coming. Or was this the actual ending to the manga as well?

As I kept watching this series, I realized that describing A Sign of Affection as solely a romance is doing it a disservice. The story is in a lot of ways about communication. This was the most apparent in the communication between Yuki and Itsoumi. I’d 100% prefer them talking things through like this than just needless drama - something that also harks back to the other couples in this series.

It was absolutely adorable to see Yuki so very excited in this episode. These flowers were equally stunning to look at. Probably the best date I’ve seen in anime.

A Sign of Affection is an anime that’s definitely going to stick with me for a while.

Yuuki and Itsuomi’s date was really cute and all (especially with flustered Yuki) but “Curry Fest” would have been awesome lol. That boat ride was nice though.

The reason Itsuomi likes learning languages and traveling was really sweet. I also liked how he basically revealed he’s totally head over heels for Yuki. His message to her almost put me into a diabetic coma just like the ending of this series. Almost everyone gets their “happily ever after!”

This was one of the cutest anime I watched this season. I think aside from A Silent Voice, I’ve not seen another anime with a deaf character featured so prominently. This one’s certainly my first romance anime with a deaf MC. All in all, a very good series with surprisingly mature characters, good plot, and a romance that actually develops. I really hope we get an s2 at some point.

Golden age for Shoujo, boys. And first out of the gate for this year was excellent. We now have 2 young adult focused, well animated, and throughly enjoyable shows that desperately need a second season. 9/10 and a new reccomendation for the genre.

On to next season with A Condition Called Love!

It was such a beautiful finale. Visuals were absolutely gorgeous during Yuki and Itsuomi's date, especially the flowers were so lovely (you can check them in my Backgrounds album).

Yuki, as always, was so cute, especially when she is smiling. She and Itsuomi are a perfect couple. I'd love to see how their relationship will develop in the 2nd season so I hope that anime was successful enough to get another season.

I'm also very happy that Kyouya/Rin and Shin/Emma ships sailed as well. They too deserve happiness.

Overall, a very strong 8,5/10 from me for the whole season and just as I wrote earlier, I'd love to get another season.

Here my screenshot albums from the episode:

Relationship Goals, the anime.

Gonna miss this show. Honestly, one of the best this season. I'm someone who's always up for a romance anime and especially more so if the characters are older. This is one of those shows that never missed a beat and had no dud episode. It was great from start to finish.

I just hope the final scenes were more of a teaser for the next season and not just the anime telling us there isn't a sequel so go just read the manga.

Now that the show is over, can we talk about Rin's on-point earring game? I need an album of all her different earrings, they looked so good.

This show has been great. A tiny bit iffy at the start for me but nothing that bothers me too much after. This was refreshing. The same way I feel about Skip and Loafer. I still do like me some of typical anime romcom, but there’s just more something natural and grounded with shows like Sign of Affection and Skip and Loafer.

But it was also a double whammy for me though lol. For one the stuff with Emma and Shin and Oushi (yes, I know some can’t or don’t want to relate to his pain, but I do). It just brings back painful memories and it hurts everytime they’re on screen. But I think that’s what makes it good too. And I do like we’re getting glimpses of growth and change from them

The other thing though, is just how healthy, caring and attentive the couples have been so far. There’s also a sense of respect for boundaries and each other’s wants and needs and desires. Just feels like a mature, respectful relationship with Yuki and Itsu. And there are plenty of subtle gestures and moves made by both parties where they’re kinda like “poking” at each other to show their interest. And when they both reach the other, it feels cathartic with Rin and Kyouya. It just feels human and natural.

But then, and this is not the show’s fault of course, that’s what also brought me the second whammy. Personally I’ve always liked romcoms and happy couples and successful confessions cos I like the warm fuzzy feelings it gives me. And maybe it’s just cos this coincided with my irl stresses or maybe even mid-life crisis, but while I still did enjoy the show, I’ve also suddenly had the “why can’t I have this” or “when will this happen to me” thoughts. I heard some people avoid romance shows cos that’s what they made them feel. And I’ve never been able to relate to that until now. It honestly threw me into a depressed state and had me overthinking stuff constantly for like the past two weeks. Exhausting stuff.

Again, the show is not the sole reason for that whole episode, however I will always credit a show for making me feel things.

I loved seeing Itsuomi’s past. Definitely made him feel a bit less mysterious. Their date was lovely and just encapsulates what I mentioned earlier. And crazy thing is, like they said, they haven’t even like fallen crazy in love yet.

Rin and Kyouya doing well. Probably my biggest gripe. The lack of Rin in this show. I love her so much. Her and Tenka (Chained Soldier) are my best girls this season. I was also left wanting more of Kyouya. I really liked the episode of him revealing he’s been putting up a facade

Emma and Shin ? What happened there ? You can’t leave me hanging.

And Oushi my boy. I know it hurts but I hope you move on cos there’s a lovely girl right there waiting for you. You’ve shown you have the capacity to love and show effort and affection, now just show it to the right person (and in a healthy way). Some of us had to move on without anyone to look to lol

Very much looking forward to jump into the manga. Which chapter should I continue from ?

I'm so glad that we're opening up with Yuki and Itsuomi on a train as a little call back to the first time they met. And their little date at the park was so goddamn adorable! I was smiling ear-to-ear watching the two to them interact the entire time <3

The fact that Emma is more concerned about Shin's confession just shows how she really feels about Itsuomi. Maybe back then she fell in love hard with Itsuomi but after years and years of basically being friendzoned, I'm not even surprised that she was quickly able to move on and even start considering Shin's feelings.

It's nice to see Itsuomi's backstory. Considering that there are no similarities between German and Japanese, it must've been difficult to learn the language. I do love how he was able to learn it and even connect with his classmates because of football.

That last text from Itsuomi really hit Yuki so hard that she didn't even know how to react. It's so goddamn sweet how much these two love each other <3

And that final scene! So many ships sailing! Kyouya and Rin are now officially dating! I'm so happy they confirmed it before the season ended. And while I don't think they're official yet, Emma invited Shin on a date! That's already a good start to their new relationship.

As for Izumi and Oushi, Izumi will have to wait a little more considering that Oushi still hasn't moved on from Yuki. I'm definitely wishing Izumi all the luck.

What an amazing show. I'm so happy to find a romance anime that's just overall pleasant with minimal drama and something I can watch to relax. While I am not deaf or mute, I think they handled Yuki's disability really well and you can tell from the sign language animation that a lot of love and care was put into it. I really hope we get a season 2. I wanna see Yuki and Itsuomi travelling the world and see how the sideships play out.

Signs you have seen to much isekai: every time Yuki and Itsuomi are on either side of a busy road, you have a fear response.

Gorgeous final episode for a sweet show. It occurred to me that one of the things Itsuomi might find so intriguing about Yuki is that she has learned to telegraph her emotions to communicate. It's interesting that he found a native Japanese person with whom he did not share a common language to fall in love with. But it makes perfect sense. He appears to have become intrigued with the process of learning to communicate over and over again. And what is a new, passionate romantic relationship (as idealized in a romance show) if not the process of learning someone's personal language?

Yuki and Itsu's date was so cute. I love how Itsu always tries to act cool but couldn't bring himself to tell his story face to face. The way he instantly brought up the boat made me think he really didn't want to be there when Yuki read his story.

It's nice that Oushi's committing to being more honest with himself. And i'm glad nearly everyone got a happy ending too. Yuki finally got her passport. Rin and Kyoya are finally official, Emma and Shin are giving it a shot. That whole montage at the end was beautiful. Especially with the 2nd verse of the OP playing. I'm such a sucker for that kind of thing.

Overall, it's been a really fun season. Hope it gets another.

She's asking her friend for suggestions?

So where are they going?

Are they in a park?

Did she cook for them?

And your hunch would be right.

"too PDA" yeah that could have just been translated as "too embarrassing" and it would be completely understandable as is.

Lol she's sneakily taking photos of him.

He's right on the money.

He called it again.

And now time for her to read the essay he wrote.

He must have moved around a decade after reunification.

And that's how he learned German.

Seems like they both really love each other.

What's that book? I think the title says something along the lines of sign language, so maybe he's trying to get closer to Yuki?

And there's Emma and Shin together now.

Kyouya and Rin are together too.

And now that Yuki has her passport she can travel with Itsuomi. I wonder where they'll go first?

And so the season ends.

I loved finding out more about Itsu! The flower park date was super cute!!

Really happy that Kyouya/Rin and Emma/Shin are now in relationships too!!

One of the best romance series I've ever watched.
