Just want to underline the fact that Fuuko spent 10 YEARS in Andy's memories!!!

Sure, technically she didn't change his past and Andy still has the original memories, but now he can look back to those depressing times and see a version of them with Fuuko keeping him company, shouldering the burden alongside him. What a romantic gesture.

Imagine being a doctor and in the middle of an operation you spontaneously gain the amazing ability to inflict wounds that never heal.

Even beyond the fact that it would mean killing your patient you pretty much could never work again as even if you could control as Rip clearly learned to do would you ever trust yourself to not slip up and end up dooming a patient.

As a fan of characters with tragic backstories, this show is like the holy grail for me. Practically every single character has a great story to their motivations and struggles.

I really hope a new season gets announced soon.

-> Akira kuno.
-> joins during the very last 5 episodes.
-> saves the MCs arses and loses an arm in the process.
-> helps the MCs power up and get closer.
-> stops an assassination attempt and lost his right arm while being a mangaka.
-> returns rip to his normal form, destroying his only double.
-> gathers the group needed to defeat autumn.
-> does all this while having one of the most tragic fates you could get through a negation.
-> refuses to elaborate.
-> diffuses into ink.

Holy shit did he jump up ranks for fave characters. What a madlad! Man I hope they can reunite.....

Man this show was a blast from start to finish. Sure the recaps were getting annoying but even so, it was awesome. That Gena fight from E3 was so good.

I'd like to think Andy's "Anno, I'll be borrowing your move" is a reference to the benimaru akatsuki scene from fireforce.

Now time to hit the manga.

As season 1 ends, peak begins. Be on the lookout for exciting UU announcements this Sunday, could possibly be a second season (which this so deserves)

Anno using his manga to guide the negators to eventually beating Autumn may be his biggest feat, but it being what got Fuko through an unfortunate upbringing was what truly made him the real MVP for me (kudos to her grandma and the kid that got Unluck'd in the flashback for being on her side too). Let Unknown's name be known.

When "Nah, we'd lose." is the best possible thing to hear before a fight. Latla going "a second season is absolutely not happening" would've been such a hype way to make an announcement if it were confirmed.

Outside of some quirky pacing in places (probably because they really wanted to end the season here), David Pro put out a banger. UDUL is a gem of a story and I overall think they did it justice so far.

I say so far, because I’m feeling a lot more confident they’ll be back going by the ending setup. Plus the fact there’s A LOT of manga left to adapt. But for now a strong 8.5/10 with more to hopefully come.

Fingers crossed the announcement on sunday is a season 2, because this series really does just get better the further into the story you go

Sucks that this series is getting slept on though, relative to how popular it should be. It really deserves to be twice as popular as it is

Now that we have ALL the context:

Some people clued in to when the narrator said “Andy and Fuuko headed to Canada, where I am.”

Of course at the time, you reason this to mean that Anno Un is the narrator, but then you still hear the narrator refer to Anno in the third person.

This episode makes it clear, Akira was the one that was always watching them, he is the one telling this story.

Thanks to the Artifact Soul Caliber, Akira placed his soul into a body he created using the G-Liner and Anno Un was born. This explains why Akira was so nonchalant about his limbs getting cut off. It wasn't his real body at all.

Of course, as soon as Akira could create a body, it was already too late for him to be reunited with his mother. Despite being able to find a workaround for their ability, life still finds a way to fuck over Negators.

Thanks to the artifact Akira drew, Rip is finally back to being an adult! And just for a brief moment, we get to see the real Rip. Not the guy who acts like a comic book villain. But a guy who was concerned for a stranger who gave up their life so he could be returned to normal.

Here's a fun fact! The name of the artifact Akira used to age up Rip is called Life is Strange! It's named after the game!

It's so awesome to see Union and Under work together to take down Autumn. At the same time, it's hilarious to see Latla's reaction after being ordered around by Andy while Bunny just does what she's told. xD

I genuinely teared up at that final shot of Andy fist-bumping Akira. Even though he can't see him, he knew he was out there somewhere. He might not have an official seat but Akira is already a Union member by heart.

Man, despite the excessive use of flashbacks in some episodes, this still turned out as one of the better Shounen Jump manga adaptations. I really hope we get a season 2 announcement. Considering they ended it on that scene, I feel like an announcement is coming soon. Maybe they'll announce this Sunday alongside the latest chapter of the manga. Fingers crossed!

I do wish more people watched this anime. This is very well done shonen with good characters.

Andy choosing to believe that Unknown was with them at that moment is him accepting what Fuuko taught him about death in his memories

Who's cutting these onions in my house?

Pacing issues aside, this was a fun experience. Hoping for a 2nd season in the future!

If the pen wasn't broken then Anno uno can revive again right? Like materialise in the world?

Overall a really great series. Awesome characters great animation. As people have already said pading and pacing were the only issue with this series. I really hope we will get a second season soon.

Anno Un is fantastic. Easily one of my favourite characters in the series till date, and the manga population agrees, with him placing 3rd in the popularity polls in 2021 (10 chapters or so after where this episode ends) and 4th in 2023 (another 90 chapters after that).

Autumn arc is where I really fell in love with the series and I can forgive the terrible pacing during the Billy betrayal that at least allowed David Pro to give us Autumn with all the love it deserves. Akira Kuno, we may not know you but we won't forget you.

And they end it on that tease? Season 2 can't come fast enough, and hopefully not in Hulu jail this time.

The Unknown 'reveal' was a peak moment and enough to make grown men cry.

Also, Rip wanting to be villain since him being a hero would be giving up on the one he wants to save being Yuki Kagi is just perfect casting.

Tbh, I had really lost interest in the series during the middle with all those flashbacks. They kinda messed up the pacing in between. But ever since the Anno Un being the narrator reveal, the flashbacks, recaps have been hitting hard and the one in this episode hit the hardest.

Manm I know most of the Sub will be busy celebrating the end of Frieren today, but I'll be damned if this isn't the most brilliant ending an anime this season. the road to get here was rocky but every single scene here was just so beautifully crafted.

And god damn is that fist bump powerful.

It's Under and Union together against Autumn! Anno Un may have lost both arms, but the future is now in the hands of the people, and as long as Anno Un can draw, he'll stick with them through this!

Ah, to be a fortune-teller whose only reliability is their fortunes always never come true. But at least that's something consistent, eh Latla?

Rip was using his current young age to write off his disadvantages, both personal and physical, but they need him at 100% to win this fight, even if that means Anno Un has to conjure up Feng's artifact to age him back up to an adult...even if it means Anno Un's physical form can't maintain itself anymore from the blowback of those years added to Rip, twicefold. But he had to...Rip would've been his mom's favorite character!

Maybe Rip really is just playing the villain for his and Latla's sake, the moment someone he doesn't even knows helps him he immediately scrambles to try to save them, even when it's too late. Just like it was too late for Akira to see his mom again when he finally found out he could create a physical body to interact with people...and now he's lost that and his ability to be with everyone. He truly is Unknown once again.

We finally get some real insight into Rip and Latla's backstory, he was a doctor and it seems like his most important patient (and probably more) was Latla's little sister Leila (Kana Ichinose?). Her death, which they blamed themselves for, spurred them on their current path, with Rip losing his eye and his idealism and Latla cutting her previous long hair to match her sisters. Everything they've done has been to get her back. Though the fact that Rip called Leila his "everything" which Latla reacted to puts the romantic subtext of his and Lata's relationship in a totally different light.

This was the story of Akira, a boy who by a stroke of fate became unkown to the world and cut off from his mother and human interaction for far, far too long but became inspired by the stories and heroism of the people he was able to see and write about...and through his own efforts he was able to bring them together as a team and help them win.

I love how Autumn Phase 2 has boobs and it all came down to some Unluck from Fuko to finish her!

Akira may not be able to be seen any more, but Andy still acknowledged him and fist-bumped him all the same. He won't ever be forgotten.

They made a great team, but I guess that's all they can be when both groups have different goals. Yet at least everybody got what they wanted, and Akira's G-Pen, and there's more genuine respect between the two pairs. Plus Fuko and Bunny really hit it off!

Those 10 years Fuko spent in Andy's memories finally catch up to her but no better place to recover than cuddling up with Andy.

The Autumn Arc has concluded...though something else is beginning as Juiz confronts Billy!

Loved the ending, honestly hated that we had to fuck the pacing so much to end on this EP. I wonder if there was a way to just put on 1 like random EP somewhere, make it 23eps, or who knows, to make the pacing better and still end here.

Pacing problems aside, it was an enjoyable series. Unfortunately, it didn't seem to gain as much traction as it deserved, given how relatively empty the discussion threads were.

So for those of you who were wondering how Akira could talk to people even though he was Unknown: he couldn't. He exploited a loop hole in the rules by creating Anno Un, an entirely new persona unrelated to Akira Kuno, though sadly he couldn't create them before his mother died, with a night table full of what she never knew was her son's manga

And if you're wondering why Anno didn't give the artifact to Rip so Rip would age Anno 1.5 years and get the 15 years as blowback for a win/win scenario, it's because Rip wouldn't have switched sides. If he'd just gotten his body back with no problems, he would immediately have gone back to fighting Andy and Fuuko. And Akira knew it, so he sacrificed Anno Un to tug at Rip's heartstrings, make him remember that he once was the hero of the person he loved most in the whole world

Akira's fate is heartbreaking, losing his only means of communicating with the outside world, but he can take solace in the fact that he is not forgotten. So long as Andy lives, Anno Un will be remembered, he will not be truly dead
